My dear Jenny,

Where did you disappear? It is good to have you back.

I too look back with nostalgia to those days 5 years ago. But they are gone, and my RA has settled in, and I can no longer do even a fraction of what I would have liked to do.

And then these forums are so small, are they not? Hardly 2-3 dozen members, and 13 Likes seems like an achievement! It was the same in the Porus forum, where I posted episode analyses from time to time for 5 months. In the Jodha Akbar forum, the members numbered in the hundreds, and one used to get over 50 Likes at the minumum. Even the forum for the 104 episode Mahakumbh was much bigger. I don't know why, of late, such big scale historicals and mythologicals don't seem to have large, active IF forums any more.

I was thinking of doing a standalone post on the dramatis personae of this show, but I could not manage it with the pain. Maybe tomorrow if things improve. I just wanted to respond to this post of yours before I lost track of it. There are too many threads here, and one cannot remember what is what!

I would have wanted Aham Sharma as Karna. His Karna in the Swastik PH's Mahabharata was magisterial. But there is no use talking of that. I only hope this Karna improves.

Aham is now playing Samrat Vikramaditya in Vikram Betaal on & TV. Slumming, to be precise, in a B grade production that has somehow got hold of 3 really good actors - Aham, Makarand Deshpande as the Betaal, and Sooraj Thapar as the villain Bhadrakaal. I watch it out of nostalgia for the Betaal Pacchisi, a childhood favourite story of mine.

I am glad that you like Colin Firth's Darcy as much as I do. Yes, he is THE gold standard for Darcy. That role did him a lot of good professionally as well.

Thank you for the link to Clint Paddinson. I will look him up on YouTube, and I very much hope that it helps me. How is your arthritis? At your age, it must be very difficult to cope with it. I at least am retired!

Shyamala Aunty ...Oooh! I remember those Jodha Akbar days - the entire forum would wait for your daily episodic posts ! Also, out of curiosity who did you have in mind as Karn? You've mentioned elsewhere that it was an actor playing Vikramaditya - what serial is that??

Your choice of leading men are also swoon-worthy...especially the dreamy Colin Firth's portrayal as Darcy - no matter how many other men play the Darcy character - Colin Firth's IS the gold standard to beat and well nigh impossible!

On another important note: About your arthritis; I totally understand how bad it can be; I've been fighting a type of inflammatory arthritis for the last few years as well. If you have time try and look up Clint Paddinson @TED Talks on youtube - might be a revelation.

Cheers!

So sorry for posting late, but Aunty, I think on the whole Forum activity on IF has reduced. That's why. Even comtemporary fiction shows now, that are highly ranked on IF have much lesser activity than similar shows with a similar ranking a few years ago.
Qubool Hai from 4-5 years ago, had crossed 1000 Forum Pages in almost six seven months I guess, and then too there were a couple of other shows with higher ranking. Whereas, BP now, has crossed 600 in more than that time and is still ranked 1. The audience for TV is changing IMO
