when did maya turn so nice to gauri?

Well I'm sure this question has already been posted and answered before. Anyway, Maya turned from negative to positive after Shiv died because I think that regardless of what Maya thought about Gauri she did love Shiv. After Shiv died, she started to understand shiv-gauri relationship. Hope this helps!!!
