Thank you, for such sweet comments...and yes as u can see I am a big fan of k-shows😳, that is why I praise them so much...😆 ...umm...follow orginal story...with the kundali thing....the original story almost drove me insane I don't think I can write it again, and go crazy 4 sure...so no no kundali raaz here!...😉

Yes, I do...No I don't!

A couple steps away from my house and I was ready to get on my knees and kiss the ground. I had made it home safe and sound, without any black belt ninjas flying out of the bushes toward me. I flung the door open and to my surprise found my Mashima, father, brother, his wife, sister, and nephew all dressed in their best garments, with fake and wide smiles plastered on their faces. For goodness sake, my Bhabhi was wearing her wedding sari. Now there were only two times they dressed this way, there was a family wedding (more like a mini competition between the women to see who has more jewellery and garish clothing.) Or, the president of India was visiting our home. It was definitely not a wedding, so it had to be the second one. The president of India was at our house. I quickly looked around the room, and found a very handsome man sitting on the "good" sofa, he was about my father's age, and smiled very warmly at me. I smiled back. My gaze then fell upon an equally beautiful woman sitting beside him. I presumed she was his wife. She too smiled at me; however her smile was cold and arrogant. This time my smile was forced.

There was an awkward silence as my family continued to look at the couple and they looked at me. Suddenly I felt Mashimas hand grab me from my arm and drag me inside. She took me to my room and before I could ask any questions she handed me my best Punjabi suit, the one I had worn for my brother's wedding. I looked at her totally and utterly confused.

"I have told a million times to not wear those ripped jeans. You look like a homeless girl!"

What? My cool ripped jeans seemed like the clothes of a homeless girl to Mashima! Outrageous! But right now was not the time to argue over clothes, my suspicions were rising as to who those people were and why they were here. Because one thing was sure, the man was not the President of India. Maybe he was the president of some other country? Now what other country in the world would have an Indian president? Could you be the president of another country if you were not originally from that country? As usual my mind had started wandering, and when I heard the door of my room slam shut as Mashima left, I came back to the real world and told myself to focus. I had to figure out who these people were and what they were doing at my house. I had a mission in hand. I quickly wore the suit and went out to join the rest of the gang.

As I walked into the room where everyone sat, I once again smiled at the strange but strikingly good looking couple. I sat beside my Bhabhi. And the moment "the man" started to speak, I took the opportunity to quickly get my Bhabhi's attention, and very quietly ask her who those people were? And you will not believe what she told me!

"They are your future In-laws! They are here to ask your hand in marriage. You don't mind getting married do you?"

Hearing that, I instantly jumped up and yelled, "Yes, I do!"

Everyone's attention turned to me, there was a moment of silence and then everyone broke into hugs and started exchanging congratulations! Wait a minute! What had just happened? This was not the reaction I was expecting! …Rewind.

I walk into the room. Sit by my Bhabhi. The man starts to speak. I ask my Bhabhi the question. I yell "Yes, I do!"

Oh my gosh! What was the man saying! What was he saying? Think. Think harder. He had mentioned my name! Think. And then it came to me…

"Gauri, beta, I know this is very sudden. But I think Mashima explained to you the situation, when she took you inside. Even though, you might not want to give me the answer right now. I have to ask you, do you want to marry my son, Shiv?"

"Yes, I do!"

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I had just said yes to marriage! I suddenly felt out of breath. I sat back down on my chair as everyone else around was busy feeding each other sweets and continuing to hug. I didn't know what to think, there had to be a way out of it. I could simply explain I had not meant yes, I had meant no, I don't. Yes, that is all I had to. Calm down, stand up and simply announce that they had mistaken my answer. I gathered all my strength and stood up; I clapped my hands loudly to get everyone's attention. Don't ask my why I clapped my hands, like I said I was no longer thinking.

The moment I opened my mouth to speak, the man's (future father-in-law's) mobile started to ring interrupting the perfect the silence. He looked at the screen and announced it was Shiv. "I'll give him the good news!" And with that he left the room. Another wave of panic hit me then. Shiv? Shiv! Shiv Kapoor? I had just said yes to marry Shiv Kapoor? Dumbstruck I sat back down on the chair. This was a disaster.

Then, like magic, a light bulb went on. I didn't have to be the one to say no to the marriage. Shiv would do it for me. He was dating Ipshitta! Why would he want to marry me? He would say no to his father, and I would just be the poor girl who got rejected. It was a win-win for me, sympathy and love from my family and not having to marry Shiv. I was excited. I jumped up and started celebrating with my family. While they celebrated for my marriage to Shiv, I was celebrating for so tactfully dodging the bullet of marriage, without looking like I was crushing my family's dreams and hopes.

Shiv's father came back in. And like I expected he said the golden words.

"I have some bad news." Everyone turned their attention to him. I was smiling in my thoughts, while my face had an extreme concerned look on that said I was very worried. "After speaking to Shiv, I phoned Guruji and he has set the date of marriage to be for this week itself. We have no time for anything; the marriage will have to take place right away. And you all don't worry; Nikhila and I will take care of everything."

Everyone around me once again broke into a cheer. While I actually became confused, concerned and shocked, inside and out. I blinked once and then again. Shiv had said yes? I was getting married this week! I sat back down on the chair, in a complete daze.
