CHAPTER 8
I had just woken up when a loud bang on the door scared the hell out of me. It wasnt bahadur bhaiya for sure, he never made noise whenever he entered, plus since today was an off because of the heavy rain last night so i had woken up late and bahadur bhaiya probably had already done his work. I was trying to analyse who it could be when a hoarse manly voice called out for me and i just knew who it was. There was commotion downstairs and i rushed down to find Aryaman and group conveniently seated on the sofa's and the dining chairs. " Is this the way you visit your friends house, without ringing the bell?" Abhimanue chuckled while Aryaman made a fake sad face. " My dear Nandini, this is not Delhi its Dhanaulti where you need not inform your friends before you visit them you just barge into their house and claim right on every thing they possess,." Aryaman's reply made me smile while the rest of them laughed, for a change even Soha smiled, it felt good to see her smiling, she looks beautiful when she smiles. " Whatever, now tell me, why are you guys over here? Something important?" Mukti passed me a big smile and replied. " Yes!! we are going out to give you a tour of Dhanaulti. Its been a week since you are here and yet you know nothing about this place, so we decided to go out, whats say." The very moment Mukti said those words my eyes darted towards Aryaman who i knew he was acting to be busy with his phone. He did this on purpose, he was scared that i might just accept Dhruv's invitation. My doubt was getting stronger with every passing day, there was something serious between them and the way Aryaman behaved just made it so clear. "What happened Nandini, you dont wanna come?" Mukti's words broke my trance and i smiled and replied. " Of course i do Mukti. I was just wondering who came up with such a wonderful idea all of a sudden." Aryaman's eyes looked straight into my eyes as soon as i said that, he was hurt and he knew why i asked that, afterall my words were perfectly coated with sarcasm. Unaware of Aryaman's intentions Abhimanue answered cheerfully," Who else, Aryaman of course" I could sense Aryaman twitch a bit when Abhimanue said those words. I knew i was being rude but now Aryaman had to know that he had no right to control my decisions even if it was for my own good. " Of course, had to be Aryaman." My tone was dry and rude and guess everyone caught that. I composed myself and said again," I just woke up so you guys need to wait for a few minutes for me to get ready, hang around till then and make something for yourself and dare not eat my breakfast." The humour in my voice finally made the atmosphere easy again, Madhyam chuckled while Abhi giggled accompanied by Mukti, Soha smiled and it finally felt good to see Aryaman smile too. I knew i should be mad at him or at least be cross with him, but there was something about Aryaman that never made me angry on him for long, his smile was my sunshine and maybe i had a small tinnie tiny crush on him too.
I got ready and all of us stuffed into that small car of Aryaman and off we were. Dhanaulti was like heaven on earth. It was a British era hill station with tall trees and mist everywhere. Out of all the places the best was the potato farm and the adventure park. The large expanses of potato farm also known as Aloo Khet, is a place where the people can have a walk. Adventure park as the name suggests was a simple park or rather a picnic spot. It was refreshing, rest it is just a normal park at the hill station not more than that for me. No doubt the day was beautiful, Aryaman and people took me to some places which were unknown to the tourists, the view from there was eternal. We were coming back when i saw a small lane go up a hill, it looked like that place was some important area, i felt connected with it.
" Guys lets go up there na, that place is gonna be beautiful for sure." Everyone enthusiastically looked up but their faces dropped down the moment they saw it. That fierce look came up on their faces and i knew something was wrong.
" We cant go up there Nandini, that place is dangerous and civilians are not allowed there." Abhimanue replied, but his tone sounded the same like the one when he was informing me about Manik and group. The word dangerous had an intensity unknown to me. I knew it was not right to poke them further and Aryaman started the car and i swear i saw a man on the top of the hill, looking down at us, i couldn't see his face, but there was someone. One thing was clear to me now, Aryaman and his friends were trying to hide something from me for sure, they wouldn't lie otherwise.
Since my house was on the outskirts we went to drop others first. Mukti who lived near the market insisted i accompanied her to have a round around the market. It was a lively and beautiful place, i bought some key rings for my self and then Aryaman dropped me home. "
Thank you for a beautiful tour Aryaman, but i would have appreciated it more if you had done a true intention." Aryaman came out of the car and looked into my eyes.
" I am sorry Nandini, i really wanted to give you a tour and i agree i did with an intention of keeping you away from those dogs, but plz do not hate me for this. i am sorry." I smiled at him,"
Its ok Aryaman, but do not do it now, and i can never hate you, keep that in mind." Aryaman had a huge smile on his face now and as always i found my sunshine in this dark night.
" Nandini if i ask you something would you get angry?" I slightly nodded my head in a no. I saw Aryaman composing himself, it seems whatever he wanted to ask was really important. "
Nnadini would you like to be my date for the upcoming Monsoon Ball Dance." My head blew off the very second he asked me this, i was both happy and sad and idk why. It was a difficult decision, i knew i had a crush on him, but no guy ever asked me out and then suddenly your crush who is also one of the hottest guy of the school asks you out, it was shocking and it seemed strange but i wasnt really sure about it.
" Its ok if you dont wanna come, its just a date." Aryaman's words helped me a bit.
It's just a date, its not like he is asking to marry me, i can surely go out with him . My head screamed out and then composing myself i said,"
I would love to, afterall who wouldnt like to have a hot date huh!!" A bright smile flashed through his face and i could see him blushing. Aryaman gave me a warm hug and went waving me a bye, i did the same. I was happy, my crush asked me out on a date but somewhere deep down i knew it wasnt the true happiness, somewhere i was feeling guilty, somewhere i never wanted this.
i know many people are gonna hate Nandini in the upcoming chapters and to save that poor soul, whenever you feel like this, just read the prologue once again and u will understand everything
