I am surprised that the thread lasted for even thirty pages, but thank you to the mods for that anyway. Much obliged that you have at least kept it readable this time. 😆

All said and done, thank you for the fab discussion, people. Reminded me of some good times I have had here.

@Anu: Someday I will definitely take you up on that offer of dumping Genie and running away together. I hope it stays open till then. 😛

Unlimited offer hai...fikar not😛

And hence proved, you have some leverage over the mods...I didn't expect would stay open long enough for you to reply😆

Congrats on the SNS stardom😆

This gif made by ruby is still one of my favourites. So much prettiness and emotion in one frame. I dearly hope none of this was uncomfortable or done only for the sake of fans. THIS was the story of MaNan which had HEART in its writing and execution, and touched all of us in some way, and I will even tolerate being labelled as a "basher" if it means I can keep at least this memory intact.

I completely agree.

Coz this constant cribbing actually becomes a habit which is not good. She might be like any normal human beings with same emotions and instincts but she's a public figure, an actor too. Media and others from the industry follow her. Production houses might check her sns before casting her in shows. If they read her notes, it gives such a wrong impression about everything mentioned in it.

This!! Exactly This!! In today's world, especially the entertainment industry, one point of reference the CV look at is how the said celebirty conduct themselves over SNS! How do they interact, and how they set the example to their viewers! Poeple like niti in their impulsiveness forget that they are a rolemodel to the general public. If a fan bashers or praises, their opinion doesn't hold weight, but if a popular figure does, it hold alot more weight. For example, a few months back, a fan made a horrible comment towards woman wearing bikini's, hinting towards a Bollywood actress. Varun Dhawan, the current bollywood star and popular, told his followers to teach her a lesson. Many raised an issue against him, and quite rightly so, because he was actually inviting a mob attack on the fan, and then the whole point was lost. Amazingly, Varun, came out and apologised, realising his error. IImagine if he wrote a note counting what he has done for his fans, causing more choas instead of making the issue small, he is a public figure and his popularity depends on how he also conducts himself, cuz he is there to promote himself. Similarly, niti is there as a known figure, right now, she should be thinking how to maintain her fanship, otherwise I'm sorry, you will end up being downgraded,

Welcome to the fandom...now you can join in on the madness that still refuses to die down...lol...you can only imagine how it was to live all this in live time while the show was on air😆

haha@ your point about how MTV managed to get so many idiots under one roof in one cast for a show...that is the real mystery...lol...we are lucky/unlucky thanks to that only cuz the show is what it is cuz of these very ppl only.

It is sweet to see new fans discovering the show and that initial high and joy the show brings as you are watching it...I totally get it...it's a good feeling to cherish...enjoy it while you can😆

As you said, this show wasn't a masterpiece but it was something markedly different in the herd of generic/mindless crap on TV...and for that it will be remembered...and maybe 20-30 years down the line valued by its immature cast too😆

I could tell, I really wish I was a part of those EDT threads. Usually gifs and images stop showing after the threads have been closed but I think nearly all of yours are still there and they were so pretty they made the MaNan moments even better. Uff MaNan are just amazing, this is why it's so hard to let go and we can't stand even the actor's themselves disrespecting them. They just don't see it. Think it's a cheesy typical show, they got the fame they wanted and that's it. Didn't see how the story and characters were treated so differently than others. Though I have to admit Parth has changed a bit since S2, seems to acknowledge MaNan and even PaNi at times😉. LOL that video of him talking about PaNi that KJ posted is absolute gold and his recent PaNi ke kami hogaye post on holi was just hilarious. 😉😳😆

I've seen the posts during the times when offscreen drama would happen, man such a happening show this was. They seriously are BB material the lot of them. I've never seen so much drama offscreen.

LOL I've never been this attached to a love shove/youth show the only show I can say I'm attached to is Baa Bahu aur baby but it's a completely different type of show but even that show felt real. Anyway, lol heard about some of this offscreen stuff in december because a post was made in the BW forums about previous fav of Khoya wah larka and the khoya wah larka but I didn't pay much attention to it. Only connected the dots once I got into the show and realised the lead here is that person that was being talked about. Then I randomly got onto the show whilst watching random episodics on youtube and fell in love. I think I started around the time nandini got kidnapped, saw the kiss scenes LOOOL and then kept watching on from the kidnapping stuff but only the MaNan scenes but I got so into it that I had to go watch the rest of the show but still couldn't see the ragging episodes lol - I only just managed to watch episodes 1-9 without forwarding. loool.

Anyone see KJ's posts on Niti, Parth, Charlie and Krissams insta posts, the dude is just to cool. Apart from Veebha Anand this guy is the only sane one from the lot.

@noor321, I just wanted to say hello, and that I wished you watched MaNan earlier!! I would have loved taking part in discussing with you.
MaNan is just beautiful, and you gushing about the show is making me want to rewatchthe show again from the start. Each and every MaNan scene is beautiful, especially in S1
My alltime favourite just has to be the first MaNan hug. That was just a surprise to us, how MaNik just grabbed Nandini, and Nandini...oh wow!!! How she was hestitate to embrace him, and then she finally gave in, allowing him the emotional confort he needed at the time. That was when both had to accept together that their attraction is too strong, and the first time Manik seeked comfort from someone other than FaB5!!

Hi all..earlier i was just coming and going without reading other's comments. But now I read it all .

So I have few more things to say.

But before that one small disclaimer..i realised without disclaimer the extent to our opinions get twisted on SNS is not only amusing but disturbing as well.😕

========================================================================

DISCLAIMER

Henceforth, if ever I say "U"..it is a generalization for the views not in tandem with mine

Secondly, this is a discussion forum..where people present multiple opinions and counter views. If counter views are in minority pls do not consider the discussion as "crowd attack".

Thirdly I repeat, if any strong opinions you had liked to share even if counter ones. pls join us HERE.We appreciate counter views as that helps to see flaws in our logic too and that is exactly what discussion forums are for. Discussion forum has the word "discussion" for a reason..do not compare it with SNS world.

Without reading the content here...kindly do not spread twisted perceptions about the discussions going on here. It's a humble request

Last but not the least : this thread is not opened to mock a member ..not at all..this thread was opened to continue the discussion as many of us did not get opportunity to express our points.

============================================================================

I really miss the old India forums and also the old fan culture..so much freedom we had here for healthy discussions..

@noor : good to c new manan fan..so u found it on YT..see YT is such a great tool for promotions of shows..even Gia Manek stumbled upon KY2 in YT only..but MTV just removed all the vidoes from YT..very unfortunate for all fans

The show was aired on MTv... it was a youth show on youth channel... so even niti knew very well what will b the graph of her character but fans were not ..

Infct as gennie said it came as a huge surprise for fans when we got to see the first kiss...

Secondly to put blame on viewers that they want physical intimacy an thats why she had to compromise with her principles and had to let down her family is something offensive for the viewers as we r the same viewers who applauded the punch to the male lead... we applauded the way shadow crying scene was executed... we gvve kudos to her when she single handedly carried the show on her shoulders during hospitalisation track and created the same chemistry just by holding one random hand only through her acting...

We r the same viewers who found the sizzling chemistry between them even when they were not in one single frame during friendship day track... forget about touching each other

So to say that viewers only wanted physical intimacy is something very insulting for the loyal viewers...

We loved MaNan coz they were realistic.. we loved manan for their communication... we loved their hugs not for physical intimacy but for the way they reciprocated each others feelings through hugs... they were not perfect yet they looked like perfect... we loved nandini coz she was the most powerful and progressive female lead ever portrayed on indian television... we loved niti for portraying nandini so convincingly and now by saying that u hv to do lot of adjuatmesnts u r not only insulting ur fam base but also urself...

Exactly my thoughts. Thank you so much for this. Yes we loved and wanted to see manan hugs but not because we are some perverts who are interested in only physical intimacy. That note was really offensive to us. Manan hugs showed intimacy of heart, the love comfort and trust between two people in love. In fact manan hugs were far far beyond physical intimacy.

Also can I just say that the timing of all this is so strange...how come Niti's grievances only started in season 2? Why will the timing of that not make anyone speculate? Why pretend for so long that everything is hunky dory and suddenly freeze up in season 2? Even for the sake of show promotion, that is quite a ways to go.

All of this only points to the fact that Niti has some long held grudge/grievance that she finally let rip in season 2 for reasons best known to her...these constant justifications and guilt tripping on fans point to someone who constantly feels not appreciated enough...and I honestly don't get why.

Is this because of the trending? Would the situation be different if fans had trended solely for her? But to base literally EVERY thing on that one stupid trend and whoever milked it for whatever reason is surely short-sighted...anyone who takes a second to view the feedback for this show can see how MaNan get that praise as a UNIT...PaNi get that praise equally for their part in playing this...so I really don't get why on earth Niti feels she isn't valued...simply because of some idiotic trolls who spew shit for the heck of it?? Who in this cast doesn't get trolls spewing hate at them? Do they all sit and cry all day about it? Doesn't seem like it.

Only Niti can help herself in this case if she chooses to get some PERSPECTIVE beyond these skewed narratives thrown at her.

Anyone with eyes can see the immense amount of love her work in this show has garnered her...why throw it away over one random trend that happened at one point in time? Is any grudge bigger than all the goodwill she garnered otherwise? Something to think about for her.

bang on! yest! grudge! and her grudge was very clearly visible in s2 when he returned. do you remember the diwali scene just before ( or after may be. don't remember exact ) the constellation conversation where there was a romantic scene where he touches her waist? her expressions at first were of clear disgust. she immidietly covered them up but yes, they were visible.

i agree with you that we all have a right to express ourself and expressing criticism shouldn't be interpreted as a hate crime against Niti. afterall Niti also expressed her discomfort and anger with us in her notes. if she meant every word then she should be prepared to get such criticism. i think her note could have been written more clear and concise meaning without hurting the masses of fan that love her. Yes, i agree she can express some anger that she felt in terms of why most fans don't like the idea of her working with VG; however she shouldn't have brought up issues that are in the past (like disapproval of family, discomfort of intimate scene). it's ironic that they complain that we shouldn't pride into their personal matter then why post about your family approvals. Niti has seen the success from it so why bring it up? that is what has puzzled me. i think bringing it up has just let us to believe that she isn't the strong independent talented actresses that she so called portrayed in all the interview in S1 and S2. Niti totally discredited herself by bringing topics that we didn't really need to know because it was her strength and she has claimed it as weakness in her career. i think her future employer will surely hold these weakness against her in considering her as a lead actress even though she is fully capable of doing the role. it just a slap on her face.

on a personal note i have no issue with her working with VG. see you have to understand that you have to food on the table. if VG really offered a great deal to her then why not accept it. besides it not like any fan can directly connect her to job in Bollywood or a hit TV series. VG had an great handout so she took. trying to look on a positive way, maybe she can learn new things from him. after all Parth had said that he learned some things working as a host in VG's projects. it is just that they had a fallout so now they are not friends (which i will not get into). so it is cool. it is matter between Parth and VG. if Niti has same issue as Parth had with VG then the fans have full bragging right to say "told you so" to her. until then we should just let her live her life the way she wants to.

right now all of this discussion is matter of getting our frustration out but there should be a solution. she should give an apology or provide better explanation of what she meant. i am afraid if she doesn't come up with a solution fast to dissolve this matter then she has indirectly admitted that she is not a professional mature actress in the industry. don't know if she likes to known as that. sadly doing nothing in this matter we will see her reputation and respect will slowly be diminished.

something to ponder: not sure what sort consequences fans can give Niti in order to make her understand the severity of her note. the idea is about understanding the issue and i believe if she does understand then this will not happen over and over.
