CHAPTER 12 (B)

THE JOURNEY BEGINS: WISHES, RAIN AND SMILES...

I stood there for 5 minutes, as I couldn't understand what she meant, I got out of my thoughts when Cabir called me...

Cabir- Manik, chali gayi voh...aab toh aaja...

I gave him a deadly glare and he smirked back at me. I sat in the car and we hit the road too after Nandini left. All through the way Devika kept blabbering about one thing or the other... All I wanted to do is shout on her and tell her to be quiet, luckily after a while she had fallen asleep and others were busy talking...

My mind was again lost in the words Nandini said to me...I said to myself "What did she meant by it??? Her tone was so sensuous, she looked so hot... is she really missing me?" that thought got a smile on my face, but then other thought came to my mind "Manik, how dumb of you... why would she miss you..." This debate between the thoughts went on for sometime and I finally decided that I would ask her about it...

We got a call from Kafeel and we decided to take a break for sometime. We had already started our journey towards the hills... Nandini was also finding place to park her car and before that all the members in her car got out...it was a very famous motel on the way... Yes, yes I know we are FAB 5, but at the end we were on a road trip and no trip can be complete without the tea at such a place...I asked everyone to step out while I parked my car...

The weather was amazing and it had started to drizzle, just the way I liked... I parked the car and my eyes fell on Nandini who had left to join others...I messaged Cabir that I would also have tea and I am going towards the place I liked sitting at... It was a spot a bit far from the motel... I sat there and my mind was engrossed with Nandini's thoughts...

NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-

Manik was looking very handsome today... I know he was getting irritated because of Devika, though I loved and enjoyed to see him flustered... I knew he must be thinking about what I said to him... Honestly, I wanted to tease him a bit more, but I don't why I went so close to him. ...While driving too my mind was full of his thoughts and I chuckled on the way he was showing his irritation and yet couldn't do much... I said to myself "Nandini Raichand you are too bad... Poor Manik... But, it's ok..."

We all stopped at the motel and must say the weather was just awesome; it had now started to drizzle...what better than Masala Tea... Cabir ordered tea for all...He said he would go and give Manik his tea... I stopped Cabir "Cabir, I'll go... " Cabir smiled back and gave me the cup... I had no idea why I did that, maybe somewhere I knew Manik was too pissed off with me and I wanted to talk to him...

I saw him sitting on the other side of the road at a small rock... I smiled and then managed to cross the road... I quietly went and sat next to him...

MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-

I was thinking about Nandini when I felt someone came and sat next to me...I turned around and saw her...She smiled at me and passed the cup of tea...

"Thanks."

Nandini- It's ok...Vaise tum yaha kya kar rahe ho? I mean everyone is there aur tum... (She paused)

"Ya, actually I love the view from this place so..." I noticed she had tied her hair, which I didn't like and a frown came on my face seeing that...Nandini did notice my frown...

Nandini- kya hua, everything fine? (She was worried)

"No, nothing like that..." I somehow managed to gather courage and then told her "Voh Nandini, I... I like it when you keep your hair open..." I was a bit worried about what if she felt wrong about it... I turned my eyes in the other direction, as I couldn't face her... I thought I should apologize to her...

I turned to look at her to say it, but was flabbergasted to see her smiling and then she opened her hair...There was wind blowing and her hair came all over my face...I just loved it... It was like one of my wishes got fulfilled...I always wanted to hide my face in her long hair... They smelt amazing... Even if they were on my face for a few seconds it felt out of the world... Nandini immediately caught her strands and tucked them behind her ear...

Nandini- Sorry, actually it was because of the wind... (She was a bit conscious...)

I smiled and said, "Its ok Nandini..." She sat next to me and then we didn't speak for sometime... It had been such a long time we both had sat with each other... I was thanking her Bappa in my mind for this moment I got to be with her alone...We both sipped tea and then it struck me I had to ask her what she meant in the morning...

"Nandini, what did you mean by that??" I was very curious to know about it... She was sipping her tea and then stopped after listening to my question...Her eyes became wide and she started to look around...

Nandini- What?? I don't know what you are talking about... (She tried to avoid the question and rolled her eyes away)

Well yes I have been scared of her reactions whenever we spoke, but if she was a stubborn girl, I was no less...after all I was MANIK MALHOTRA... I could see she was trying her best to look away from me... And then, a smile crept on my face when I saw her nervously rotating the cup in her hand... So, I continued...

"You very well know what I am talking about... I didn't know that you miss me..." I said the miss me' line in the same tone she had in morning, a sensuous one... She immediately turned to look at me and I smirked at her...She frowned and pouted her lips in annoyance...I said to myself "Why does she have to pout, like seriously...doesn't she know, she looks so cute...and I can't control myself...Dammm" I was lost admiring her...

Nandini - (very slowly) Manik, voh...main...

"Hhhmmm..." I was constantly gazing at her face and was lost in her eyes...

Nandini- (spoke slowly again) voh Manik...

Her expression had suddenly changed and I saw her smiling and that left me confused... She got up and started to walk... then turned to look at me...She smiled again...

Nandini- Manik, you had fun na while driving with Devika...right... I missed it...Baby...

Suddenly, it hit me she was teasing me all this while "Baby...God...aaahhh...why didn't I guess it...how stupid of me..." I got pissed off... I stood up from my place and called her "Nandini..." She started to run and was laughing ...I began to run behind her to catch her...

Everyone was surprised to see me running behind her...I was shouting all this while "Nandini, you just wait..." She kept running and laughing...

Nandini- Manik...poor baby...

"Nandini just stop I am telling you..." She was getting everyone between us and that was making it hard for me to catch hold of her... Then she got Cabir in between us... I smirked and said "Nandini... now where will you go... Cabir, hold her Bro..." Nandini looked at Cabir and he winked... Nandini giggled and then ran away...I got angry on Cabir... "What the hell man..."

Everyone there were wondering about what was happening...Nandini ran a bit away and she kept checking on me by turning back... I finally was a bit close to her and caught hold of her from back and held her by her waist... We both were now laughing and I lifted her and took a round...the entire place was filled with her sound of laugh...

I finally placed her down, but I was still holding her by her waist loosely... I turned her to look at me... She stopped smiling... I then smirked and said, "So, what were you saying hhhmm..." I saw her eyes getting wide...

Nandini- Manik, voh I was just kidding...

I took a small step near her and moved my hand slightly around her waist... I felt she shivered when I traced my fingers on her waist... I looked directly in her eyes and leaned a bit forward and with my one eyebrow up I spoke to her "Just kidding really..." I moved my fingers slightly up on her back and I saw the effect on her by my touch..."So, you didn't miss me...hhmmm" I was lost again in admiring her... Nandini then replied to me...

Nandini- Manik I just wanted to see you flustered...bas isiliye mene...

I was a bit surprised by her confession and removed my hands from her back. I realized then how plain hearted she was... I couldn't believe how innocent one could be and how easily she confessed why she did all this...

She looked at me with innocence in her eyes and then I smiled at her, I folded my hands near my chest and spoke "So, you get happy when you see me flustered...hhmmm" She smiled back and left without answering...I smiled too and left behind her... we both then joined others...

Everyone asked us what happened and I could see Nandini was finding it difficult to answer, so I stepped in and was trying to explain "Guys nothing, bas aise hi, nothing important...well let's start now so that we reach on time".

We all went towards our car and then I went to Nandini "Nandini, if you wish you could drive my car..." I said this with lot of hope, but she didn't reply me and left towards the other car... I again realized the happiness was momentary, we were back to square 1 and I turned to walk towards my car and sat in...I was upset...I shrugged the thought and then checked if everyone was seated...I didn't find Devika..."Cabir, where is Devika???"

Cabir- I don't know Bro, she is your Girlfriend...must be coming...

All of them noticed I was upset...

Aliya- Manik why do you look upset? I mean you and Nandini some time back were...

"Nothing, I am fine..." I was looking on the other side of the road when the front door opened; I turned my face and was startled to see Nandini, she had buttoned her shirt and she had tucked it in her jeans... I kept gazing at her while she was putting her seat belt...She then looked at me with a smile...

Nandini- chale???

A smile crept on my face; only my heart knew how happy I was...I started the car and hit the road... There was still an hour journey left to reach the farmhouse... She got busy speaking to Aliya and Mukti.

Mukti- Guys let go for some hiking... what say??

Nandini- hey sounds like a great idea... I am cool with it.

Aliya- great...it's gonna be so much fun... Hey Manik we'll have a bonfire in the night...

I nodded for it... It then started to rain heavily and was getting difficult to drive. We pulled both the cars to the side, as it wasn't safe to drive...

Mukti- guys let's step out...

Well yes we were a bunch of mad people and we all began to get drenched in rain except Sarah, as she was pregnant... Dhruv went to play music...And must say he played the right music to match our madness...

We were all enjoying the rain on the side of the road...the song Dhruv played was awesome and just went with our spirit... I saw Nandini was busy dancing with Mukti, Aliya and Devika... Then we all joined and formed a big circle with our hands behind each other's back... We were singing the lyrics with the song...

People who passed us slowed down their car to spare a glare at us...but, we hardly cared...

NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-

Mr. Manik Malhotra you like putting me in difficult spot just wait and watch... I went to Devika..."Devika, what's wrong with you, how can you miss out the chance of dancing with Manik...go..." She then nodded in excitement and went to him...

MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-

Mukti left me when Devika came and started to dance with me...She circled her arms around my neck... I was getting irritated with her proximity, but I faked a smile and danced with her... I saw Nandini was smiling looking at my condition again...Like how does she manage to always piss me off every now and then...I gave her look "HAPPY NOW..."

She giggled and looked the other way...I thought to myself "Miss Nandini, if you get happy seeing me flustered, then I get happy seeing you next to me..." An evil smile crept on lips...I excused my self from Devika and then went next to Cabir with whom Nandini was dancing...I indicated Cabir to leave...

She was stunned to see me standing in front of her... I didn't wait for her to agree to dance with me and I took her hand and placed it on my shoulder, I slid my other hand on her waist...I looked straight in her eyes, but she looked the other way...I could see she was nervous... I smirked and then slightly jerked her towards me and with that she looked into my eyes...

I smiled and said, "Shall we???" She kept looking at me blankly and then I took the lead and we started to dance...Cabir had played a romantic track I used to always sing when I remembered Nandini in those 6 months...

She was a bit shocked to see I could dance not as good as her, but atleast could try to match her pace...

Well BAPPA did allow his favourite child Nandini to trouble his royally spoilt brat Manik, but he also made sure along with her punishment, they start talking...

For compensating BAPPA'S helplessness towards Manik all this while... He thought of fulfilling one of his wishes... He made the wind blow a bit fast so that her hair was all over his face... BAPPA at that moment closed his eyes being shy...

But, then was happy to put his plan for LEVEL 2 in motion... He knew he can't interfere in Nandini's punishment today, but could surely give them some moments to cherish... BAPPA was extremely glad to see his kids enjoying the new journey with their friends... His both kids had finally started to talk, became comfortable with each other and by the end of their dance were a bit lost in each other's eyes...😉

He gave them their FIRST'S...FIRST TRIP, FIRST ALONE MOMENT, FIRST SMILE and then their FIRST DANCE... ☺️

After all, BAPPA had written their names in each other's destiny and they were meant to be HUMSAFAR'S'...😊
