The physio out there. Rahul is now stretching his left leg. Some water from Jagadeesan the sub. Could be cramps.

Roston Chase to Rahul, 1 run, tossed up full on off, Rahul gets forward to drive to mid-on and takes one. Reaches his 50 and raises his bat

Congratulations to KL Rahul for his half century.smiley32

India lost the toss for the sixth successive time in Tests but they then ticked most of the boxes to leave themselves in with a great chance of controlling the narrative going further in this game. On a pitch which played true, Mohammad Siraj struck twice in his first spell as the visitors were reduced to 42 for 4 at the end of the first hour. There was no recovery from that point and the visitors were eventually bundled out for 162 with Justin Greaves's 32 being the highest score. KL Rahul then controlled the chase and the in-form Indian opener milked runs and went past his 19th Test half-century. Yashashi Jaiswal looked in sublime touch before throwing his wicket away for 36. A failure for Sai Sudharsan though, the southpaw getting trapped ih front by Roston Chase after a nervy innings of 7. Shubman Gill, fresh from hitting four hundreds in the last series in England has looked solid and India are just 41 runs adrift of overhauling West Indies's first innings total. The pitch has dried out and looks good to bat, India has plenty of depth and class in this batting line-up and they'll look to bat big in the first innings. Join us at 9:30 am for the first ball of Day 2. For now, cheers and bye..

Sai Sudarsan failed once again.

KL is still batting and Gill is there, it means the 1st innings score will be around 400+
