the word secretary hit manik hard...very hard...already he was feeling a bit awkward with nandini's presence in the room and now this new developement further intensified the situation

my secretary!!!ohh no..this cant be..yeh nai ho sakta..aaj mujhe itne saare shock kyu lagre hain,parr agar yeh meri secretary hai bhi toh kya hua...y m i getting so worked up...god...kya horra hai
where manik was busy in his thoughts nandini found it unusual to have such kind of silence,she expected a warm welcome from manik as she did from his father,but manik over here seemed as if he was not happy to have nandini as his secretary..this troubled nandini...in the last 3 years,since she has been working for yash malhotra,never had she got such a reaction...everyone liked her and her work but here manik was showing no signs of likeness,with each passing second nandini was getting stressed,finally gathering some courage she said
n:um...sir...is there any problem
m:huh!!!what..prolbem..i mean problem..u.u have a problem...what problem?
maniks reaction scared nandini and she thought that he was angry at her

yash's sudden entery scared both manik and nandini

y:tumhe?tumhe kaun yaad karra tha..main toh apni beautiful beautiful si nandini ko yaad karra tha and then he caressed her head,whereas nandini just smiled at his fatherly affection

y:manik,main abhi se warning derra hoon,apne office ka kohinoor diya hai maine tumhe..nandini...till now she was working for me..but from today onwards she will work for u...she is an excellent girl..and u better not trouble her ok..
manik was baffeled...never in his life had his father talked to him so sweetly as he was with nandini,though deep down manik liked it but he shooed his thoughts away

yash left giving a last glimpse at manik and smiling at his reaction when he saw him lost in nandinis smile...yash's departure brought manik back

though manik knew her name but he enjoyed listening her sweet voice so he purposely asked her

manik was shocked...this was how he saw in the movies...a man wud ask for a file and the girl wud bring it for him...they never tuk name of any file!!!!
m:ww..woh...woh wali file..said manik pointing randomly at a file...
n:but sir woh file toh..

manikvwas getting nervous...he knew he was making a joke out of him...he knew what he had to do but nandinis presence made him consious of his work...he was trying hard to be cool and remember what he had to do...the whole list that he memorised he had to do once he wud join office...but now everything just vanished,nandini brought the file and gave it to manik with an unsure behaiuor
manik opened the file and said
m:yeh toh khali hai
n:sir i was going to tell u...woh saari files to show ke liye rakhi gai hain...interior designer ka idea tha...we have nothing to do with them..
manik mentally face palmed himself

what the hell is wrong with u manik...yeh kya karra hai?mtlb...u always had the best sense in all these things aur aaj tu hi...yeh design bhi toh tune decide kiya tha...fir yeh...god...shit shit shit...cool banne ke chakkar mein apna joke bana diya hai tune...god...why always me...
nandini was just admiring the cute expressions on maniks face all the while he was deep in his thoughts
m(whispering):dude!!what is wrong with u..kya horra hai...kya karooon..kuchh yaad nai arra...shit...plz god plz...do something
the whole while manik was saying all this he thought he was talking to hiself..but to his dismay..he said it loud enough for nandini to hear and chuckle on his childish act
m:kya hua?hass kyu rahi ho?
n:nothing sir
m:ok..
n:sir...i think aapko abhi xyz file pe kaam karna chahiye
and that was it for manik...it was the same file he thought he wud work on
m:yeah yeah..bring that file
n:ok sir..
with this nandini left his cabin and the very next word that excaped from her mouth when she was out was
CUTE!!!!then giggling on him she went away to bring the file
