Part 2

Secret Temptations




we all have secret temptations and dark desires; desires those are well hidden at the bottom of our hearts until that one person walks in and all our deepest darkest desires wants to be fulfilled...


brushing and shooing away the air of mystery and the darkness that was surrounding their small quintessential town all four of them drove off to the mall.. as they were passing a few eating joints nandini screamed "stoppp cabir.." cabir got scared and stopped the car "what?" all of them shouted in unison... "why are you shouting so much guys.." nandini asked her innocently.. 'really nandini.." cabir said with you are impossible expression.. "why did you asked bhai to stop.." mukti asked.. "oh.."

nandini realized what she did.. "arre i saw udupi restaurant so i felt like eating sambar vada.. please can we go ?" nandini pleaded them innocently.. all of them looked at each other and alya said "you are a kapoor na for sure?" "haan?" nandini asked confused.. "haan kya haan.." mukti seconded her "i mean everytime you run behind south indian food and stuff.." nandini smiled and said "well i guess mom has rubbed off me very much.." "yes i think your mom definitely has rubbed off you.." alya said with a frown "but let's go and eat sambar vada or else you won't let us move on.." they all went in the restaurant to get some food..



we all have our weak moments.. it is in these weak moments we do some mistakes and some darkest secrets are born.. it was one such weak moment for dr atul kapoor years ago when he gave into his desires while being away from his family.. he went to ooty for a medical conference and there he met his long lost childhood sweet heart whom he thought he had lost.. although he had moved on but the girl anusha murthy could never move on.. and in the course of two days and few weak moments dr kapoor gave into his desires for her which resulted in nandini being born 9 months later at a ooty hospital..

but as fate would have it anusha died in childbirth and anita showed how big a woman and a mother's heart can be took in nandini.. gave her their name and raised her as her own child.. as time flew by the kapoors were a close knit family and their parents told them everything.. alya loved nandini to moon and back but she could never forgive her father for the betrayal... nandini knew this fact very well and made peace with it.. she loved alya beyond her life and any one looking at them would never be able to say they are step sisters...



"bhai.." dhruv's voice made manik's meditation.. "what now you wanna play bhai bhai with me.." he said in a sarcastic tone.. "like really bhai.." dhruv said "500 years is a long enough time to be angry on someone.." manik smirked "what you did that night got us here and guess what since we are here for eternity i am gonna be pissed on you for eternity.." "manik i am sorry for that night and every day since then tell me what can i do.." dhruv pleaded ... "well you can leave me alone for starters..."

manik was about to walk off when vikrant malhotra's voice stopped him "manik stop.." he turned around and gave his dad a 'what now" look.. "manik stop playing those look games with me! enough of this hatred for your brother.. how did you forget that he is the same dhruv you loved more than your life.." manik nodded in anger and said "yes he is the same dhruv whom i loved more than life and my love brought us all here as the living dead creatures.. he is the same dhruv ho took everything from me and made me hate everything and everyone including myself.. he is the same dhruv and because of him we all are here a vampires stuck in this world for eternity..."


"manik stop it for god sake.." dhruv said with a remorseful voice.. "i have been hating myself since that day for doing all that.. when i messed everything up and brought you here.. brought us all here.. i am sorry i am so so sorry.." dhruv said with a choked voice.. "well your sorry is not enough dhruv.." and manik walked out off the house angrily leaving everyone stunned.. "coming back to dharamshala was a wrong move..." vikrant said "no.."

neyonika who was just watching manik burst out said "no vikrant coming to this place where we belong.. where our roots are is not a wrong move.. i know manik is disturbed and i know dhruv is disturbed too.." she said looking at dhruv who also went out to take his frustration... "coming back to here has made manik restless as all those memories of his past are coming to haunt him but this time i am very hopeful that something positive is gonna come out finally manik's darkness will find light.." neyonika said looking out of the window..


it was 1 am at night when manik was sitting on his bed unable to sleep.. he has been restless ever since he came back to dharamshala but today while he was out trying to calm himself down something happened that unnerved his soul and for the first time in 500 years he found his heart beating... he took out his journal and started to write "why did we came back here.. this place which gave me the best time of my life also gave me the worst memories that i have to live with till eternity... ever since i came here all i could see was her, her face, her smile, her laughter, her blush.. they way she hid herself in my arms.. her colorful chunri which looked like a rainbow.. she was mine..her love was mine.. she was vaidehi..."

manik closed his eyes to relive the memories of a love that died 500 years leaving him behind to burn in her painful memories for eternity.. manik preserved her memories for 500 years more than any precious metal.. he had no picture of her as she was imprinted in his heart and soul.. his love.. his vaidehi... suddenly he opened his eyes and his memories travelled to the events of present day afternoon and he started writing again...



"i was walking on the street aimlessly not knowing where i was going.. i am running from 500 years and i am tired off running... and look at my fate i am back to place where i lost everything.. where i lost myself.. my vaidehi... everything over here is changed in the 500 years; yes 500 long years and everything is changed ..i was trying to find the bits of past but then something or should say someone caught my attention.. i heard a laugh, a laugh as sweet as the nectar from heaven; it melted in my ears as the sweetest music; her laugh calmed the tempest raging in my heart for 500 years in a moment and in a moment i don't know what happened to me i looked around but there were lot of girls and i was lost..

i looked around everywhere and all i needed at that moment was to hear her sweet voice.. as i was going mad i again heard her laughing and when i looked i found two eyes.. two big doe shaped deep black eyes.. she was trying stoles and hid her face with a colorful stole showing of only her eyes.. i lost myself in those eyes as if they held the answer to all my questions.. her bangles were moving according to her eyes which were dancing to their own tunes.. and then someone called her 'nandini' and she went off... i couldn't stop myself from following her.. where ever she went i followed her.. i was lost in her so much so that i followed her to her house.."


manik stopped writing and again closed his eyes and whispered "nandini" and a small smile came on his face remembering her face, her smile and her eyes which bewitched him and captivated him.. "she was so small fitting perfectly into my arms.." he thought.. but then he opened his eyes and stood off in a jerk and started pacing in his room.. he was shaking his head in disbelief "this can't happen.. how did this happen... this place is for vaidehi.. only my vaidehi.. nandini can't take her place.. why am i even thinking about her.." "get out of my head nandini.." manik screamed feeling helpless.. but it was too late a darkness that had engulfed him for the past 500 years since vaidehi was gone when nandini's eyes found their way to his heart unknowingly.. the gloom and despair of his heart was shooed away by nandini's laugh.. manik might not accept it now and fight it out but nandini was replacing vaidehi from his heart bit by bit and it won't be long before she would own it... but for now it was going to be a tough battle for manik between his memories of vaidehi and his growing love for nandini which was already increasing with every passing second


kapoor villa



nandini was tossing up and down the bed.. she was restless and sleep was miles away from her.. finally giving up she got up and took out her diary from the bag and went to the window and started writing.. "dear diary.. sorry to be up till late but what to do i am unable to sleep.. surprising na i nandini can'rt sleep.. i mean you know i can sleep anywhere any time and today was such an eventful day.. we shopped so much today.. sometimes i feel alya is too much.. uff so much shopping she did.. i mean i was feeling im going to arctic forever where there are no malls (giggles in herself..) it was such fun outing wit alya, mukti and cabir.. mukti as usual got some dark clothes for herself.. i know she comes from a family of witches but why does she has to dress up like that.. god at times no most of the times she is very dramatic.. i have never seen her granny or mom being weird..."


"but then something unusual happened.. we were buying stoles when i felt a gaze on me.. i don't know who was it.. i tried looking for him everywhere but all i could see was a shadow..but who was the face behind that shadow.. it was following me everywhere i went.. his gaze was different i mean i didn't feel uncomfortable but instead i found myself melting in his gaze.. i found myself attracted towards that shadow and i want to see him again... i want to see the face behind the shadow.." nandini closed her eyes recalling a stranger's gaze... she thought "why is my heart so restless, what is this feeling... what's happening to me.. why do i want him close to me.. around me.. why?" suddenly she opened her eyes - she felt the same gaze on herself.. she again found her insights melting.. she looked out of window but there was no one only moonlight making its way from the tress' shadows...


nandini frantically looked around.. she came out of the house and started looking around but found no one.. she turned back to go when manik peeped out from behind a devdar tree.. manik unable to contain his restlessness and his need to see nandini came to her house and found her sitting by the window writing her diary... he swiftly hid himself as nandini sensed his gaze ;one of the advantages of being a vampire is your senses are heightened and you can forecast what's gonna happen in the next few seconds.. nandini turned back to go when she hear a dry leaf being crushed; manik had occidentally put his foot on a dry leaf while moving out inviting her attention... she swiftly turned back and again saw the same shadow running away and she without thinking anything ran behind it..

"hey! wait.." she shouted as she ran behind it.. but manik was a vampire who could run faster than the speed of light an nandini was a 17 year old girl.. within a moment she lost him but she kept running until she went breathless.. nandini stopped when she could not run any more.. she looked around and found herself in the forest with wolves crying.. she got scared as she looked around it was pitch dark with moon light falling in bits and pieces from the huge and tall devdar tress.. soon tears swelled her eyes and she wanted to shouted but her voice failed her.. she wanted to call alya but she couldn't .. she was sweating when she felt darkness surrounding her, her knees went weak.. she was fainting and about to fall when two strong arms caught her.. when manik caught her before she could have been hurt...

Omg! That was so beautiful. Manik has loved vaidehi for 500 years with all his heart. But that has only given him pain. And now he will find his solace in nandini coz she will be the only one whose touch will cure all his wounds he has had in past 500 years. She is his true love. They were destined to be.
