@Kiara - Rishta.com was love. But I would not say it was compellingly watchable. For every story to be compelling, it needs to have a tight script, pace, good dialogue and enough drama in the right blend.

I've yet to see any show on telly that stays compellingly watchable long term. And with KY2 it has had it's shares of offscreen issues such as Vikas leaving and taking almost everyone away with him, Merger, Quitting drama, the whole s**t walk campaign. As much as we try to ignore it, inevitably viewership is affected. Change in writers has affected it the most. But it is still a better show than the rest of the tripe out there.

But the lack of overall DIRECTION shows in terms of almost negligible storyline movement...which is why the show is worth watching for SCENES aajkal more than any OVERALL storyline😆.

And ofcourse no doubt I do give them credit for still doing alright with their storylines as compared to most shows which MURDER their storylines and characters by this point in their timelines with irreparable damage from retarded storylines...

But the point remains...KY2 right now is more simply WATCHABLE rather than COMPELLINGLY watchable...does that make sense? And well I guess it is inevitable also cuz no show can remain COMPELLINGLY watchable LONG term.

Makes complete sense. I myself am not watching it while I just couldn't miss it earlier. Same story with many others from the AT. I still feel the urge to tune in at 6.30 but I can easily find something better to do. It is not compelling anymore.
Well said we are only picking scenes that we enjoyed but the storyline is far from interesting for me.
Maybe if they made it more succinct it would make a difference. I am still irked by the fact that we haven't got closure on the Soha track yet. Or am I just being short sighted here? Do they have someting better planned?
I want them to deal with tracks quickly and finish by July or August whatever but soon.

Totally agree @Vaishu.

Also I really really want Aryaman for Alya. We live in a logical world. How does it make sense for Dhruv and Alya to end up together just because once upon a time they were together in a show. Real life is so uncertain.
AND Jotwani and Krisann have great chemistry. I may be a little biased towards him here. Cos he happens to have an affable personality. Not to mention the guy writes well and is so laid back😆

Okay I can't write long posts so. 🥱

not just desi shows but even sitcoms beyond a point lose the initial charm they had cos well its not possible to come up with new stuffs. its just how they try and still maintain the show that counts i feel. so in a way ky2 is also right now doing that only.
today ka episode had that connect. also i like the way they are including aryamann. they learnt there lesson after abhi i guess😆

aah MTV..idiots take forever to upload episodes. they keep uploading random selfie challenges😕

Yes, exactly what I'm saying too...for a show to be compelling, it needs to be planned with a finite beginning, middle and END...otherwise to quote one of my current fav. dialogues from the Tanu Weds Manu promo...show ADRAK ki tarhaan kahin se bhi failta rahega😆

I loved Rishta.com, man...everyone loves to quote that show as an example but lol when it was on air, I hardly remember ppl flocking to the forum...bas kuch hi bhatakti aatmaayein hoti thi...it's like this show became a cult hit on YT much later when ppl found time from watching lame Gul Khan crap to watch this😆

Anyways coming back to KY2...yes, that is what I'm saying too...long term sustainability in terms of being compelling is near impossible for most shows...Hindi or English...unless you end it in a timely fashion, most shows lose their juice and steam...which is why like I was saying yesterday, it will come down to expectation adjustment...but then that also means this pattern is hard to sustain long term...interest wanes inevitably and the moment something better comes along, SNAPS in an instant...

For now, yes KY2 is doing fine...but to me it almost seems like a waiting game...lol call me jaded from having watched way too many shows😆...but I'm almost kinda waiting to see how long they manage to sustain even the current ok-ness of the show😆

MTV almost seems deliberate now in terms of delaying KY2 uploads...is this some kind of weird strategy to make sure ppl watch on TV?😕

VK- CaVYa - Interesting case hai, I think Cabir will be caught in cross-fire of Harshad-Navya thing.
Mukti- Umm , can she be just there, her heavy drama always pulls the show down. For now let her be, but she is going to work around NavShad.

MaNan- Buildup for Nandu's ILU and the next phase of intimacy. they just bought themselves some space and time to set the next high point for intimacy.

Nandu -Music.

Manik will I guess eventually have something to do with harshad.

Season 2 hai

Rhista.com was another ball game-episodic , they had a solid b-story every week which had nothing to do with the main plot.It never played out the love story, just concluded to one. Totally different show.
Love story was subtle, hinted and just resolved to a point.

Won't compere a daily with it.

ohh i didnt mean rishta.com was compellingly watchable i meant it had a proepr storyline there was an end in the mind of the makers like a finishing line:)
and honestly any show that runs for a long time beyond a point is not compellingly watchable. it loses that charm which it had initially.
and i agree to your point that ky2 currently is way better than the other shows that are there. and i will give them credit that despite all the issues they still havent lost it all in terms of characters specially.

@genie: i agree recent episodes are all about regrouping. they all are stuck and now each one of them is starting again. lol i dont think i made sense here😛

I really like what you said about AA...precisely how i view this too...in a realistic world, Dhrulya just cannot get back together cuz of the FINALITY of how those bridges were burned by Dhruv...the way he's treated Alya, and the lack of depth b/w them otherwise due to Uttu's non-acting makes it even harder to buy this couple now...AA seem much better matched in terms of chemistry and if they deign to give Aryaman some backstory, it will be the cherry on the icing.

+1 about Jotwani...lol I will freely admit that I'm biased there too...a guy who actually has some wit and can write well...total win in my books :P...him and Kriss are very well matched onscreen...they play off each other nicely...this is the kind of guy Alya needs rather than babying Dhruv's shit all the time.

I liked all the YRF Tv shows. They were telecast way ahead of their time. I recall wanting a season 2 of Mahi Way and Rishta.com - I wanted to see Rohan and Isha's love story play out.

I have loved the light tone they have used to for this week's episode... and with some slight progression in all characters.

Anu of course they are CLUELESS now and so are we. They are probably in a confusion of what track to take forward now.. since they have started with all tracks for all the characters..

MaNan equation is build up in such a way.. that misunderstandings are absolutely next to impossible now. They have to play it with their past... and if they do they can't stretch beyond a point...They are in a very secure zone with each other.. its just their individual conflicts which the cv's can now play with and are playing..

I hope they get back to 5 days a week and really pace up and wrap up the show maximum by july- august.. coz baki ka toh pata nahi.. Parth janab toh tata bye bye kar denge including the audience
