THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS SARA.
Manik Malhotra was very wrong in what he did to Nandini Murthy. But you cannot help but feel for the boy who buried his feelings all the time, who had been ignoring his needs, his want for love since he was a little boy. When he finally found it, he had to give it up for the brother who saved his life. The brother he would be forever indebted to.
Manik always felt that he was bad. He was the monster. He had believed it for so long, it had become and indisputable fact. An absolute truth. He never considered that there was good in him. When Nandini told him that there was good in him, he did not want to see it. He told her categorically that he did not want to be good. But he always believed Dhruv to be good. The better one between the two and therefore more suited for Nandini than Manik ever could be.
Giving her up on that basis was not that hard. Except, we know, that he could never really give her up. They are fated after all.
