So since I could not get sleep last night, I decided to fulfill MkrayZee's wish😳 She asked me, scratch that, ordered me to write on MaNan. So this drabble thingy is dedicated to her. 😳And if there are any mistakes, blame it on her since she edited it😉 Haha. Just kidding😆
Api, this one is for you!
*******
It hurt him. It killed him. With each word he uttered, his hatred for himself increased. How could he say those words to her when he himself did not believe them? How could he insult her like that when he knew she was the opposite? He did not know what he felt for her. All he knew, was she was the ray of light in his dark world. She was his only hope in the manipulative, evil, dark world he lived in.
He had never felt so deeply, so strongly for anyone. The feelings overwhelmed him. He did not know how to react, how to control his emotions. He needed to keep touching her, feeling her to know that she is there, that she is real and she is with him.
But Dhruv loved her. His entire universe crashed the moment he heard those words. Dhruv. Dhruv was the good guy just like Nandini was the good girl. They deserved to be together. For they were good people. He was bad. He liked to be bad, right?. Monster. That is what she called him and that is what he was. He could not let her come in to his world. It would destroy her, crush her.
Seeing her with Dhruv killed him. He could not see them together. Yet, he had to. Dhruv was his buddy. His best friend. His brother. Manik would do anything for Dhruv. Even if that meant pushing away the only source of light in his dark life. Even if it meant killing himself slowly every moment he saw them together, every moment he saw him touch her.
He was in agony, anguish, torment and anger but it was all self inflicted. Seeing her tears shattered him. They weakened him, his resolve. All he wanted to do when he saw her cry was pull her in his arms and hug her tight, kiss away her tears. But he could not. He could not. How could he when he was the cause.
Dhruv was his only hope. The only one who could make her smile. After all he did this for Dhruv only.
Hiding his emotions was difficult. Especially when his resolve was weakening. He had to wear the monster mask in front of her 24/7. Otherwise how would she be convinced? She could see right through the monster. Clever little imp she was. His Nandini. No, No. Not his. Not his. Dhruv's. He could not afford the mask slipping. Even a small mistake on his part would reveal the truth to her. He kept on uttering those harsh words, insulting her, belittling her, mocking their moments together. Each moment that he cherished, held close to his heart. He loathed himself more with every word he voiced, with every tear her beautiful eyes shed.
He wanted to stop doing this. He could not do it anymore. Her tears were burning him. He wanted to stop. He had to stop doing this. For himself, for her. He turned to face her and recalled the events of the previous night. Her promises, his feelings, their kiss, her blushing smile, her gleaming eyes and Dhruv. Dhruv's words echoed in his ears "I love Nandini, Manik." And that kept him going with his facade.
But in all this Manik Malhotra forgot that Nandini Murthy was a human being, not a toy that could be passed on to his buddy. He forgot that he had to think about her emotions, about what she felt instead of making a decision for the both of them without taking her into consideration. He did not know that he was her first kiss. He did not know that her emotions were pure. He did not know that he was the first guy in her life. He did not know that the fireflies glowed for them under the starlit sky and fireflies only glow when there is true love. Manik Malhotra continued to single handedly destroy himself and what he had with Nandini Murthy, completely unaware of the fact that they were fated.
Honest opinions please guys. I won't feel bad😳
