A lot of reasons I guess...first some of what she said touched him...her desire to see his smile ..it was so genuine he felt taken aback...surprised that someone can care so much about his smile, his happiness too. Or may be he was thinking about why...why he can't let go of his hurt and why not give her what she has been pleading so much for?? Or may be thinking how much he loved her...how much she mattered to him...Her response was so emotional, he was just taking it all in...trying to understand her frame of mind too...may be. There are always several reasons behind our behavior there never is only one factor affecting us...

I first read your post and then saw the episode and I could feel that ice cream wala scene. Manik's expressions were so apt and I am happy that nandini told Manik about vinegar in his glass too. The way he got angry because she exchanged the glasses was so beautiful. The last expression by Manik at the end of that scene tells that he is done with the torture and now because he wants to save nandu from his mother, he decided to bear TK.
The funny part was Manik's face when nandini was already standing next to him 😆

Anyway, I forgot to compliment you inn sab mein. Manik is in love with nandini and I am in love with your writing 😆 🤗
