I do not empathize with her. I don't. Because she's not giving me a reason to but I want to and for that she really needs to grow a backbone. I think she's been a true friend if not a great one. she couldn't see Nandini hurt when she'd locked her up and she was always stuck up so much in the pain she'd pushed on her ownself that it formed a cage around her.Originally posted by: annboleyn
Rida,I was trying to be patient with her and honestly I tried. Because I've seen some " Navyas" and I understand their dilemma. But what really tipped the balance against her was how she dealt with Nandu. When Nandu needed her the most she bailed. Whatever she has going on with Harshad could have been discussed objectively if she had been a better friend.
Also Rida forgot to mention elsewhere your 100 epi VM was so good, made hubby watch and he asked me is this a " trailer " . Trust me that's a fab compliment.iproud.
I feel exactly the same as you tbh. She did disappear and none of us did notice exactly that's because she has been so one dimensional till now. All her potential and dreams and things weren't discovered. She just let her grudge against Fab5 build and let harshad fuel and support it. she saw things in black and white.fab5 were black and harshad was her savior. in the start tbh he really was! he did all those things that showed so many of us the potential of navshad and harshad did look a gray character with positivity to him in the start until all hope for him was lost. but she didn't see it like us. Even Nandini realized when she was showed through Manik and Cabir. Her obsession with him was frustrating but it was also real. She represents so many girls out there and that is why i feel it is very very important that the CVS make her stop moping and give her the edge and the strength that's needed to give every girl out there who's going through the same thing and watching the show a great great lesson in strenght and emerging out stronger.Rida, this is beautiful! 🤗
Though I have had a complete disconnect with her character and I just don't feel anything for her as an individual, I am annoyed at her as Nandu's friend! I don't want her in Nandini's life! Yeah, I am selfish. But I do see where she comes from, I completely understand the small-town girl with big-dreams who got tricked, who made the wrong decisions! It is just that as a character, I lost interest in her due to the one-dimensional portrayal! At the same time, with all her Naivety, I never thought of her as foolish.I found her to be just as smart, capable of manipulation and being mean and insensitive -- It all got hidden beneath the obsession with Harshad and Fab5! Her obsession with Fab5 went as far as to want revenge and she had all the right to do that! But the righteousness did hide her own mean steak! I never really understood why she was considered a fool!I can only hope that from this point onward, she will be someone who will help girls like her in real life, who go through the same thing! I will root for her to get over this Harshad business and emerge victorious regardless of the fact that I do not sympathize/empathize or feel much for her.I will be truthful and say that she could disappear and I might not even notice her absence!

that is the thing. It is such an ugly reality in real life. Teen pregnancy is never received positively, not in our society anyway. Teen pregnancy is not easy either. It's a huge huge responsibility. Same. I don't believe children should be having children, either because most of the time that's not fair to those children who are born. It's never their fault. They deserve everything the other children do but are most often deprived.
And this is why, because Navya depicts these girls lives and what they go through, i don't want her to just describe their plight but give them a very strong and positive message! To give them optimism and teach them.
I'd agree that she hasn't been completely naive. Naivety is complete innocence but naivety is in the sense that she's been a caged girl with hardly any experience of the world and what it bears. That naivety comes with lack of knowledge and experience. That's what mukti understood but navya didn't. I also think that she was always more deluded. like i just said in a reply she's been this girl of fantasies where she believed "its me. im important. im a star" her obsession to prove to her friend that she's so important to harshad, it doesn't make her an innocent at all. But regardless of that, her love for harshad didn't come out of dubious means, it came out of her belief in him as a hero who saved her and his gentleness, the one thing she always dreamed of for her whole life. Her fear that this dream couldn't be true override all common sense because she so desperately wanted it to be true. and don't so many girls? all those girls who leave their homes and runaway with all these boys only to have their lives ruined? in a way she describes and represents all of them and is the bells of caution for a lot of girls out there.Originally posted by: charminggenie
This is the thing, the contrast is presented in Nandini- like you compared, the girls need to know which story is more inspirational. I don't know , i cannot see any sense of trait that can give rise to a fighting Navya without being contriving , for the sake of making her a hero , will it not pull her character even further down. Yes this teen pregancy seem to indicate that track, though.
My point is her situation is relatable to a lot of young girls but as an individual she is not representing them. She is not naive, she chose to be selective not just about Harshadji but about a lot of things. Harshad is not the one who aid down the true trap , it was her own shortcomings-delusions, as a person that did her in. Just like Soha. Personality traits , not regional divide.
im glad you agree <3 and exactly i hope CVs handle this track very appropriately because if done so it can give the message that really needs to be delivered. to a lot of girls out there. Thanks for writing on this sensitive topic of teen pregnancy 👏
Yes I agree Navya needs to stand up for herself and not play into the hands of Harshad. He has fooled her enough. She being a small town girl, will have a certain set of values and ideals. But without forgoing that, she needs to garner strength and face this challenge. The CVs have handled the gay issue quite sensitively. So I hope they do the same with this as well. The channel has a wide reach among the youth audience and KYY being top the charts gives them the perfect platform to send across the right social message.
i doubt the same thing thus the topic. Navya is really going down a hole and that's what i don't want. If she's shown again and again moaning and pleading to harshad, as if without him, she'll not pull through, she'll be ruined, she'll give the wrong message to people going through the same dilemma because there truly are so many women and girls like that.
I highly doubt any optimism will be shown with regards to teen pregnancy in this situation. There are only two options here, either Navya keeps the baby or she aborts it, either way she will be criticized.
The thing is when you tell young people that their life is over if they become pregnant, we alienate young people facing an unintended pregnancy..
To be honest I would not want her to have this baby... again a person choice!
