Navya, when she started out was the perfect foil to Nandu. Both came from small towns, both struggling with realities of coping with a " different" place. She was engaging and sweet. Even when that vermin entered their life,it was painfully obvious Navya was in love with the idea of being in love. That was not her worst moment, I don't even think her worst moment was when she had consensual sex with Harshad. Her character fell flat on the face when she doesn't rationalise and confront Nandu alone before falling in line with harshads plan. That really affected me.
There are two issues here, one is the very obvious teenage pregnancy but what is even more important is the " choice" that needs to be made. Rationality, humanity, ethics, fraility are all going to clash. The outcome of this clash is not extrinsic but deeply personal. The violation of an abortion vs the prejudice vs the stigma are all deeply conflicting and soul wrenching.

Choice is the key word here but teen pregnancy is not always a choice. It happens even in a most well planned situation, with or with out using any protection. The chances of getting pregnant using protection is less vs the other way around.

The real choice she needs to make here is if she is responsible enough to keep the baby or abort it, that will be driving factor to her character.

Love can never be rationalized. She was in love with Harshad and went above and beyond to be with him and support him in his crimes was most rational thing for her to do, because she was in love with him...

This is one of the best topic of the forum since last night... It's such a delicate matter... I read through everyone's post...and I agree with everyone... But still can't found navya's solution...what would be best for her?? To keep the child or not??? What's best for her??? How can she get out of this mess???whatever she chose she'll be scarred for life... I'm worried for her... As a matter of fact my heart is going out to any girl in her situation...how terrible that girl must be feeling!!!what emotional stress she must be going through...

Well said!!!
I want her to stand up to the injustice and stop depending on Harshad.

Also, I can understand her plight... being brainwashed since birth that having a man in your life and getting married is an absolute necessity, all these moral policing about "virginity", un-wed mothering is a taboo and even having an abortion is a wrong...and all such crap.

There exists two India's right now. One looking ahead with progressive ideas and one still clinging to the old beliefs. The conflict between this two sectors are brewing like boiling lava right now.

Let's see to which sector Navya falls into. I personally want to see her getting an abortion and move on with her life without Harshad. But, from day one we have seen that she comes from the background which believes in the old mentality. Lets see how she overcomes that.

Love
