Hello All! Me is back again with another OS, this time it does contain angst, so you have been warned I guess!
I haven't proof read this one, so please forgive me for the mistakes!
MaNan OS~ Preet
"Think about what I said right?" A boy of nineteen said to the girl just a year younger than him. Even though she looked like she didn't care much, the boy knew that the girl was just putting up a well rehearsed facade. He just did. A facade that was so close to moistening under her tears, that were about to run down her face, the moment he turned around.
And he was not wrong. As soon as Dhruv turned around, a silent tear, followed by a stream of tears rolled down Nandini's face. Without even bothering to wipe them, she got out the only picture she had of them, a guy towering over her while she pouted like a duck. Looking at the picture for the last time, she finally let the photo out of her grip and watched it get carried away with the cool breeze of October.
"You let the photo go?" Dhruv came back with a bottle of water and handed it to Nandini.
Smiling sadly Nandini said, "What is the point of holding on to memories that cause pain?"
"Because they are memories; memories are meant to last for a lifetime Nandini!"
"Trust you to say philosophical things at this every moment in time Dhruv, but trust me, such memories are like the thorns embracing the rose. They prick and make you bleed if you hold onto it for too long" Nandini said while opening up the water bottle and taking a sip of water.
Dhruv looked at the girl sitting on the bench facing the river, unlike normal people; she had placed her butt on the top of the bench. Shaking his head he wondered why destiny was so cruel at times. Recently whenever he saw Nandini, he would often wonder why destiny even allowed two people to meet, when they had no hope, in heaven or Earth, to be together in end.
Sighing slightly Dhruv too sat down with Nandini and watched as the water slowly hit the barriers. "So, what have you decided Nandini?" Dhruv said while observing that Nandini's facade was slowly but surely making its way back.
"Decided about what?" Nandini said raising her eyebrows in mock confusion, her eyes slightly blood shot from crying.
"Stop playing this game with me! I told you everything I saw yesterday and here you are pretending that you are okay! For f**k's sake, you can't even lie properly! You are just a stupid girl who doesn't want to accept her own feelings. Stubborn. Stupid. Idiotic and just plain frustrating." Dhruv continued to curse Nandini, making her hard to control her laughter. He looked like he was about to ripe his hair off.
"I can lie very well actually! I am sure these blood shot eyes gave me away right?" Nandini said rolling her eyes and smirking slightly.
"Can you please be serious for once?"
Taking a deep breath and releasing it Nandini turned to Dhruv and looked directly in to his eyes. Without a blink of an eye she said with a finality of a thorough professional, "What's the point of even thinking about this? What is done is done! He is there and I am here, millions of miles away, here. There is no point talking about this."
Nandini got her bag and started to walk away rapidly blinking away the tears that were threatening to flow again. "Wait Nandini, we still have to go to uni!" Dhruv called from behind.
"I don't feel like it! I will see tomorrow!" Nandini said without turning back a second time and increased her walking speed.

He has a photo of you on his shelf. He has all our photos, though yours is actually beautiful. You look like a girl in it. I ever knew that he had taken it, but it was his farewell party for sure. He said that even though she is laughing, there are a million conflicting emotions in her eyes.
He still likes you Nandini and it's pretty clear.
Nandini woke up with a jolt as the train braked suddenly without any reason. Her mind still replayed the Dhruv's words in her ears. And it was deafeningly loud, so much so, that even the train tracks hitting the rails didn't make this much sound.
He still likes you Nandini.
"Damn it!" Nandini cursed as Dhruv's words again rang in her ear. There was not one person who would understand her dilemma, not even Dhruv. She was often told by Dhruv that she was being egotiscal, she was being stubborn, she was ebing stupid and God know what else.
But no one understood her and her sentiments. Even though she roamed around letting people know that his absence, doesn't affect her, but in reality there were numerous days where she just wished that he was here. With her. In the same country, in the same university as her again. At times Nandini Moorthy wished that he would be with her, either pulling her hair, calling her names or bickering with her like a stubborn two-year old.
It made her realise that nothing lasts forever and a spell that we are blissfully living in, is bound to break one day.
Walking back from the station, Nandini couldn't help but smile at the cruelty of her life. On the exterior it seems like she has it all, but on the interior only she knew chaotic her emotions where.
Dhruv often asked her why she never replied to his emails and she would always skilfully avoid the topic. Though only she knew why she never replied to his countless emails.
Because if she'd let herself, she could and would easily fall for him.
"Oh God! What have you done to me Monster Manik!" Nandini said rolling her eyes and pushing away his thoughts at the back of her head. She glanced at her clock and thought to herself~ He would be sleeping right now.
Nandini thought about the time they had shared their first kiss, first for her and them, she was not too sure about him though. She had felt exhilarated in the moment, a moment where she wanted a forever in his arms. A moment that will always fall short of words for her, a moment too passionate to be described in words.
Chuckling to herself, she thought at how optimistic her behaviour was! "I have got to stop watching those Bollywood movies" she muttered to herself.

On the other side of the world
A boy of nineteen, opened up his emails and smirked sadly. Like he had anticipated still no replies to his emails, but then again, since when did the strong willed Nandini give in so quickly?
He quickly glanced at other messages and called it a night.
Manik Malhotra still liked the Nandini Moorthy he met in a country that was alien to him. He thought about his own words to Nandini~ If it's meant to be
Being unable to sleep, Manik brought out his guitar and started to pluck at the strings.

~Jo main jaanti ke preet kare dukh hoy
(If I only did I know that falling in love gives you pain)
Toh nagar dhindhora peet-ti kehti
(Then I'd announced it to the entire town that)
Preet na kariyo koi~
(No-one fall in love)

Wokay! Done! I don't know if I made the plot clear, but basically Manik and Nandini met in a country that was foreign to Manik and then he had to leave, like an international student. My writing skills have gone for a toss, (oh wait what writing skills?😆) hence I thought I would clarify! Anyways, the song "Preet" is from the movie "Khoobsurat" and is definitely worth a listen! Very enchanting voice!
Also I am working on the sequel to MaNan OS~ Cravings and Secret Temptations This time with Manik's revenge (olala😆)
Till then,
Pari😎
