Me 3. It was the Meethi Boliyan - just the image of them practicing together , the ease that came out even at the peak of their hate. There was something right when they both moved forward to help that lady.
But that one moment , while singing that song , they highlighted why they make sense.

OK so Manik and Nandini...become MaNan.

Manik---He is not the simplest character to understand. When one says he is the typical TV hero I beg to differ...no guy has ever been that outright wrong. He is charming in his own ways---he is a BAD guy but that is not all. He has so much going beyond JUST that. Badness is just a mask...he is a normal man at heart but his way of showing it differs. Like the scene when he goes to Nandu's place to tell him about the "Secret Mission" and asks her to keep it a sa secret. How he convinces Nandu to be a part of it for Rishab's sake. That is Manik Malhotra.

Nandini---Well she is the girl next door. She is who every girl is at heart---simple, grounded and bubbly. She is vivacious and has a spunk unlike others.

That is what attracts them---as one says "Opposites attract." And then the fireflies glow.☺️

Meethi Boliyaan----yikes!!! I love that scene. I can't say if it is the first time I felt for them. But jeez their spark, chemistry was so evident. The whole sequence is so well shot. Them singing together, Manik playing guitar, Nandu singing, their separate scenes in shadows and while Manik and Nandu sitting in a corridor...it is BEAUTIFUL.❤️

Manik is not your archetypal tv soap boy. His biggest asset and distinction is that - he is a learner . He is not just who automatically reboots into a version 2.0 model, he takes in new experiences, feelings and emotions and processes them in the most organic matter. His evolution is not just related to one relationship, he applies the same maturity to all his bonds. This makes him different and special

Nandu is us. She is the girl who we all have been at some point in our lives. She is normal girl with a very grounding perception of reality and a piercing clarity of thoughts. This makes her glow, her innocence is not because of ignorance , it is because she genuinely believes in the fireflies and what they signify.

Together they are an experience and together is when they make perfect sense.

Lots of people want Nandu to be like total firebrand but honestly she is very practical, I mean how many people will fight when told your family is going to be destryoyed, she tried to stick it through the contract till she decided she cant take it anymore and once she decided she can't she found a way to break Manik's hold on her. I love that practicality in her, anger is a good thing but its also important to know how and when to use your wits.

Exactly with Manik, the Cvs played up both his Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde persona really well, on one hand he is this Monster to the rest of the world while with Dhruv and the Fab5, he is this caring person, it was kind of fascinating to watch. And honestly in the first meeting between Manik and Nandini, if he didnt really care why even bother saving the fireflies of a stranger. Manik is a Rubik's puzzle, so many questions to be answered on him and thats exactly what makes him fascinating.

true...I like the scene after the whole singing sequence as well When they discuss about their singing. It is how they will be when they will be friends. It makes me smile looking at them like that. You can notice that SPARK!!! The way they are talking. They are meant to be MaNan.😳

thanks for liking my stuff on tumblr 😳 just some modest efforts result of high feels 😆

So true, I was in the same boat, I so could see the potential in them especially in terms of story building and the chemistry being off the charts was a plus. Even the other stuff in the episode, for example, both of them coming together to save the old lady's life without rancour, it spoke a lot of how their future relationship can develop once they especially Manik let go of his walls.

You know superficially they might seem to be opposite of each other but are they really?
Core moral values are pretty much the same. While Nandu has been able to retain her faith in them . Manik has taken to cynicism for centering his morals.

I feel there is innocence in Manik too when he pretends to be the bad guy and thinks that is the only way he could protect his family like friends, even though it is very obvious to everyone that his friends won't care much as long as they are together and united.

EXACTLY...the way they function as a unit is so pleasing to the eyes😳

@bodl I am dieing to see the softer Manik...gosh I have so many feels just by thinking☺️...when he will soften...jeez. Can't say more.*GIGGLING*

Why should be a firebrand. She is a sensible normal girl who was new to the town with an ailing brother , living with uncle and aunty who all though lovely aren't affluent enough to take the bullies heads on. Her first instinctive reaction was well this shall be forgotten , but when she saw the contract papers , she knew he would go to any depths , hence the expectations to protect her family. But when it became too much and it crossed her level of tolerance , she snapped back and didn't care for anything.
She didn't need any slogan shouting but her perseverance at preserving herself and her family endeared her to the many other students. This is something that even fab5 were astonished and still are.

To a large extent , what you do say is true, for example, Manik values his friends and friendships pretty strongly, Nandini is similar to him in that way. Manik has had a pretty rough childhood from the sound of it, and the impact that the emotional scarring of childhood leaves on you cannot be understated. Infact there are numerous studies that underline this, infact if they actually showed Manik normal after being treated like a commodity by his mother, I would have been outright sceptical of this show. Do I agree with what Manik does? Hell no, do I understand why he is what he is? Hell Yes!
