The story is evolving, with characters other than AK getting better fleshed out, better formed. In today's episode, KS is clearly dying to find out how AK is, and Prithvi The Good is firmly with her in her quest. She enlists Daadi's help to go tackle an not-so-Jolly Josh into letting her see AK. Then she enlists both their silence and their support in keeping the fact from AK that she Knows All. They agree very unwillingly. Meanwhile, there's a more interesting scene between Mishti and Prithvi: she runs to her brother because she needs him as always, and finds that Prithvi the brother has morphed away from always being there for her and it breaks her heart. Today, we even get a glimpse of what's happening to the Khanna Klan! Naina is seriously heart-(choke! choke! gasp!)-broken about her runaway son and wants AK's dad to get him back; AK's dad shows that he is human after all; Airhead Anitah taunts Kunning Karthik about his failure to acheive his ends of getting his parent's love; and this makes Kunning Karthik think of enlisting Prithvi. But Prithvi The Good prevails! On to the show:
The first set starts with Prithvi The Good staring into the depths of a garden pond, calm but miserable. He has taken the ring off KS' finger and he looks like he doesn't know what to do with himself. But wait! What colour comes through the hedges yonder? 'Tis the KS, coming resolutely towards Prithvi. She tells him that things have indeed changed now that she knows about AK; that she doesn't hate AK anymore it is true; but that she will not throw aside the person who stood beside her all the way, all the time, having given up as much as AK has without giving up the faith in her. She takes back his ring, and from that point onwards, Prithvi has on a glow, like a spotlight shining on him from the skies.
However, KS has a request for Prithvi: she wants to meet AK one last time. Josh is mad at her and won't let her near him. Prithvi, all aglow with near-celestial goodness, hits upon another source of AK-knowledge -- Daadi. She can wrestle Josh into letting KS see AK! KS becomes aglow with happiness at a solution, any solution.
(It made me a little sad. When KS was lying in hospital, and AK begged Daadi for just one chance to see her and talk with her, Daadi ripped into him so very badly that he couldn't dare walk towards KS lying in her bed. And here, Prithvi The Good urged her to go to him... It made me most melancholy.)
We cut to: Daadi's home where Prithvi The Good consults with Daadi. Daadi agrees to wrestling with Josh and getting KS to see AK; she wants to talk to her grandson herself about everything. But, she glances askance at Puzzling Prithvi, how can Prithvi agree to this? Doesn't he feel WEIRD doing it? Prithvi beams with goodness: no, he wants KS to resolve this and then get back to her role as life partner with him forever with a clean mind and relieved heart. Daadi is impressed. They agree that KS will land up at Daadi's at 5pm and Prithvi leaves, touching Daadi's feet.
(I don't know why, but EVERYTIME Prithvi does things of that nature, it makes my spine feel like it's got a strip of hair that is standing on edge! Why, oh WHY, do KYPH writers make him DO that??)
The next set starts with the clock at Daadi's house showing quarter past 6, and no KS yet. Daadi calls Prithvi to find out the status (this is the preview from yesterday) and finds that she has left. Prithvi panics: the Thug is still on the loose and KS is missing -- again?! Daadi asks him to calm down and they both start calling her on her phone.
(How idiotish was that? How can you coordinate to not reach the person by agreeing to BOTH try calling the same number??! I think KYPH IF members should be taken in to do quality checks on scripts!)
Neither get through, and infer trouble on the horizon. Daadi is already at her car getting ready to search for KS, and Prithvi is getting ready to get his, when a rickshaw lands up and deposits KS at Daadi's gates! Daadi is irritated: Where the devil have you been? KS is nicely apologetic. Her car broke down, she picked up the rick, the phone was on silent (Another idiotish notion.), what to do? But now she is here, let's go. Daadi is stern -- at least, let her call Prithvi? KS is itching to be away.
And we cut to: Honey Josh on the phone with Alliyah, who is relieved to hear that AK's OK and that he's got Josh to be with. Ding dong goes the doorbell and the call is ended so that Josh can answer the door to find: Daadi with KS. His normally goofy face is unusually stiff and stern. But it's Daadi, so it's a rather ungracious Please come in Daadi when Daadi asks whether she can see AK.
There's discomfort all around, and it becomes pronounced when KS asks if she can see AK. Josh is nearly dismissive to his best friend's love: he's resting and Josh really doesn't think that she should see him. Daadi might have said something, but KS breaks in, with tears in her eyes. She just wants to see him to make sure he is alright. The real reason she is there is so that she can ask Josh not to tell AK that he's broken his promise not to tell KS anything. Josh is extremely frustrated: he's not sure that he can carry on this intrigue of he-knows, she-knows-he-knows, etc, any longer! (Go, Josh!) Daadi is also puzzled: why not tell AK?
(And we move into the preview from two episodes ago, where) KS says that if AK'd wanted her to know, he'd have told her himself. He trusted Josh and she doesn't want that trust for Josh to not be there in AK's heart. And, she turns to Daadi, Daadi must also promise not to tell AK that she knows.
(There's a logical flaw in that first statement: Even if AK had wanted her to know, he'd have had an iceberg's chance in hell of having been able to tell her while she was in her fury against him! But the second one, where she doesn't want AK to know that Josh has betrayed his trust, because Josh is the only one there for her AK, was a sweet one.)
The last set was actually the best one in this episode, with two vignettes: one with a Mishti-Prithvi interaction; another with the Khanna Klan.
Cut to: KS-Prithvi's house where Prithvi sits reading. In runs Mishti! He stands in surprise and she runs into his arms for a hug. He is completely taken aback: what the hell?! When they are both calm and seated, she says that she just wanted to be with him; he's her brother, he's always been there for her, as her strength, as her support. She's miserable and she wants to be with him. (Sigh, so sweet.)
Prithvi is melting with near-celestial brotherly love, and asks what troubles her. She is troubled about AK, she doesn't know where he is, whether he is okay. Prithvi smiles and tells her not to worry, he's with Josh and he's fine. Instantly, the pretty sisterly brow furrows: how does he know?? Oh, Daadi found out, and in fact, KS is there right now. The pretty sisterly brow is now thunderous: WHAT? KS is with AK? And Brother Prithvi let her go there??? How could he? Even after he knows that they were, are, a couple??!
And then, a remarkable thing happened: Prithvi _loses_ his celestial glow. He turns Human. A weird, puzzling sort of human, but he becomes one! He yells at Mishti that he has _complete_ faith in KS and that they are going to be together forever. If Mishti still cares for AK, and thinks that KS going to AK is going to mean trouble for any future plans of Mishti&AK forever, Prithvi will thank her not to cast her jealous aspersions on his beautiful dreams of KS&Prithvi forever. If that's what she wants to do, she can leave!
(Wow. I knew that aside of the AK&KS duo, this was the one to watch out for.)
Mishti is shattered. She had come to her brother for some solace, but found in his place instead, KS' fiance, with a different set of ideals and goals and preferences. She is sorry she came to be comforted, because it was apparently to the wrong place. Tears fill her eyes, and she runs away the way she ran in, with desperate speed. :-( Prithvi tries to stop her: Mishti! and when he fails to do it: Damn it!
(BTW, the actress does a _good_ job with this scene. The actor playing Prithvi is never this good.)
We then cut to: another weeping female, and it's Naina! (Who's out to prove that she can really cry after having spent all of KYPH convincing me that she was born without tearducts. Or a heart to love her son with.) AK's dad has just come in from a trip and she is weeping her heart out. Without a hello, she launches into "Get my son back for me, Dilip. Get him back!" He is tired and stunned: what has happened. Then he finds out that AK's left home, and he is even more soul-tired. Now what has Naina done? As she launches into: Oh, because of that KS... AK's dad finally reaches the end of his tether: Will you stop blaming KS? Everything that has happened is your fault! Naina is stunned: he's apparently never talked to her like this. You've driven your son away, and now you stand a good chance of losing your husband! You have driven my child out of his house, I'll never forgive you for what you did, and I'll leave too. Naina finally gives up; she actually trembles as she says: yes, it might all be my fault, I admit it, but please, please get my baby back for me. She reaches out and hugs him and they rest like that, while the camera pans back to show ...
Airhead Anitah, looking positively EVIL, and eavesdropping at the door!
(Seriously, if Airhead showed even the semblence of having a brain, I'd have called her EVIL. But how can one without a brain be anything but .. well .. brainless?)
And we cut to: Airhead Anitah spilling the beans to Kunning Karthik, both about his parents getting their baby back, as well as the fact that KS is at Josh's where AK lies sleeping. Karthik cannot believe that his parents will be able to get AK back. There is no way that AK will ever become a famous rockstar ever again, nor will he ever have KS in his life again. He will arrange for the first to ever happen. And for the second to never happen, he is going to manipulate the strings of another person who will never want KS to be with AK forever; the person we now call Prithvi The Good with a Flaw!

Preview for the next show: Prithvi is spewing venom at Kunning Karthik's suggestion that they join hands to ensure that AK&KS forever will never happen. Prithvi's acting holier-than-thou -- you think that I will ever join up with you, you lowly-vegetable-matter-smearing-the-bottom-of-a-garbage -dumpster? AK and I may have issues but there is no way in hell that you and I will ever be on the same side!
It might have been a ho-hum, put-on preview except for: the way that KunningKarthik's eyes flicker with a glow of hope and excitement when Prithvi says "AK and I may have issues"! Creepy! Seriously, dementedly creepy in a Stephen-King-movie kind of way!

But some nice character and story development. The Unnaturally Good Prithvi _has_ a flaw, an Achilles Heel. I can't really put my finger on what it is just yet. All I know is that it is Mishti who can unlock it, and not KS.
That's another piece in the puzzle of why KS&Prithvi forever is not a long-term, viable proposition. The two are just not vulnerable to each other to the extent that AK&KS are, or even Mishti&Prithvi are. AK&KS love is when you stand completely vulnerable to the one that you love, with your heart, mind and soul, all open to vicious attack or tremendous rewards.
It is so strange that it is in this AK-less episode, and in the Mishti-Prithvi interaction, that I have started getting glimmers of the AK&KS true love puzzle...
