"Balaji is the best TV banner to work for. They not only give good opportunities for anyone willing to work hard but also take good care of their actors. I am working 18 hours every day and have never worked like this before. But I am enjoying my work despite hectic work schedule and very little sleep," says the goodlooking actor and winner of 2005 'Mr India' title. Karan would not have ventured into television but for a call from Balaji. "Time is precious to me. I was free for some time because my next film is going to be launched in February. Balaji called me and I said yes because television is more of a learning experience for me," says Karan who entered Kasamh Se as Daksh and ended in a love triangle with Bani and Jai Wali. "I got noticed quite well but before I could make a mark in the show Ekta gave me the lead in Kahe Naa Kahe." His role in Kasamh Se is not over. "But Daksh is not seen much in the show because I am completely occupied with Kahe Naa Kahe," he adds. Talking about his role in the show, Karan says Kanav is a rich, intelligent and confident guy. "The only child of his parents, Kanav is a spoilt brat. Brought up with golden spoon in his mouth, his aspirations are only to mint money. He is a self-made man and utilises all his time to make money. He has no time for love," he elaborates. Though currently caught between Neena and her best friend Kinjal, love will eventually happen to him but not before going through a lot of ups and downs. "Right now Kanav is caught between the two girls," he smiles. "But it's not going to be easy for him to fall in love with Kinjal because Neena is there to create all kinds of problems for him." Since his film is going to roll in next month end, will Karan get a break from Kahe Na Kahe? "I really don't know and haven't spoken to Ekta either. I need only 40 days for the film and I think things will be worked out amicably," he hopes. Quiz him about the rumours that Ekta is not too happy with his acting and has asked him to get his act together, he says it's absolutely baseless. "They are all lies. I did Kasamh Se for three months before Ekta gave me the lead role in Kahe Naa Kahe. She is happy with my looks as well as acting. Ekta is not a fool to cast someone in a lead role if he isn't good enough. And she is certainly not a fool to pay me real good money if I was not good enough. Do you think the channel would tolerate a bad actor in a lead role in one of their major shows?" he asks. www.deccan.com |
