Chapter 34

A girl walked up the college path, wearing a white mini skirt and a red halterneck top. All the boys were staring at her as she continued ot walk ahead.
Maithili looked disgusted at Adi.
M: oh look! Theres a new bimbo in town!
Adi completely ignored maithili and went ahead.
He stood in the girl's path and smirked.
She courtly smiled back.
He took her hand and kissed it..
"you can call me adi…"
The girl smiled, "hi…I'm Shivani."

"Hi!! I'm shivani!!" maithili mocked to her friends.
"What does she think she is!! Some new dumb, stupid bimbo!!"
Just then aid joined the table.
"Jealous much?" he smirked asking Maithili..
M: what? Like how you were jealou when Prithvi was around me??
The smirk wiped off adi's face.
Maihtili laughed at this.

M: I've given Prithvi the invites to our engagement and wedding…when shall igive it out ot the rest of the college?
A: no no no!!
Adi said taking maithili away into a corner.
A: you do not!! Talk about ht ewedding in front of my friends and I'm not even gonna marry you!
Maihtili held adi's collar and tugged him close..
M: yes you are Vikram-Aditya Mehra! She hissed at him.
M: and I'm not doing this because I love you or whatevr crap you think! I'm doing this because I love my parents!Everytime I look into my parents eyes I see hope in them, hope that their daughter will get married ot You and will live a happy life!
Maihtili's eyes grew moist.
M: marrying you will ruin my life! But I'll happily do it if it makes my parents happy! A lone tear dropped from Maithili's eyes and Adi's heart sank.

How could I have not thought of it like that! why did I have to be so mean to maithili, when all she wanted ot do was make her parents happy!???
Adi felt like and git and mentally kicked himself.
Maithili left him and went away.
She sat outside on the bench alone. She was skipping class, but she really couldn't bear it anymore…she had no idea wha life had in store for her, but she was going ot be brave, she was going to marry Vikram-Aditya Mehra.
M: I'm going to marry adi…she muttered, that adi, whom I hated for 20 years and now I'll be marrying him.
She wiped a few tears form her eyes and got up. She stood confused when she saw adi in front of her.
M: why are you here?
A: i…woh, sorry…I didn't think you'd be marrying me for your parents sake, I thought you..
M: you thought I love you…right?
A: yeah..
M: that's your problem!! You think you're all 'it' don't you!! you think thousands of girls will die ot be in my place!! But let me tell you, I'm dyeing every second in this place!! I never thought you'd be so inconsiderate and thoughtless! You can flirt with hwo ever you want, even after marriage and I won't care!! But don't do it in public, because if shikhar papa and mayuri mom find out, they'll be very upset!

M; shut-up!! I never loved you, and I never will!! I hate you!!!
Saying so maithili ran off.

Maithili sat motionless and still as the make-up artist did her make-up and the hair stylist moulded her hair. She stared at the mirror, she looked beautiful that night. It was her engagement night and she wore an enchanting dark green ghagra with heavy white gold embroidery. She was slowly lead down by tannu and mallishka.
Mall: arey smile! You'll be my devrani soon!!
Tannu and mallishka laughed on to lighten the somewhat dismay atmosphere but it hardly helped.
Maithili had spotted adi in the hall, he too lacked of joy and happiness, but when Prem passed by he began laughing and chatting with his friends as if everything was allright.
Maithili smiled a little at this. She stood next to him.
M: thanks… she muttered
A: I didn't do it for you…
Maithili sighed. She knew his manly ego would always come in the way of him admitting anything.

Both stood opposite each other and the wedding rings were exchanged. Adi placed his rin gon maihtili's fingers and she placed hers in his.
Everyone clapped and Adi-Metz fakely smiled

Maithili sat in her room removing her jewellery when she heard a knock on her window. She opened it to find adi sat on the terrace stool.
M: getting good at this climbing stuuf I see..
A: yes yes…romeo has to do this much for juliette.
M: ha! As if!
A: I'm going to a party tonight…
M: ..and?
A: and you're commin gwith me! He lightly kissed her cheek and dessended down the ladder.
M: ..what??? I..i'm not! Adi!! Come back up right now!!!
Adi slowly came back up..
M: good…now what's this about…
But before she could continue, adi thrusted her a shopping bag.
M: what is this?
A: a dress, since I can't trust your fashion sence!
M: I've already said! I'm not going to any party!
A: oh come on!! You owe me one anyway!!
M: no I don't!!
A: yes you do! Forgot all the things I had to do when Prithvi was around???
Maithili took in a breath and sighed out deeply…: fineeeeeeeeee
She opened the bag to find a slick black mini dress.
She chuckled: you don't really think I'm gonna wear this? Do you?
A: oh yes you are!
M: no I'm not!
A: ok…its alright 'behenji…'
The colour red flashes across maithili's eyes…
M: what did you say?
Maithili picks up a ruler from her desk and starts running after adi.
She whacks him once, but the second him he grabs her hand and pulls her towards him.
A: oy! That hurt!!
Maithili still looked annoyed at him
A: abhi se shuru!…pati ko maarna paap hai!
M: shut-up adi..
Adi grinned and let her go. He walked ot her bed and jumped on it.
M: feet off!!! She screeched.
A: ok ok meri maa!
Adi laid down on her bed instead.
M: adi..off!!
A: what!! I have just as much right on this bad and you have! Its going to be ours soon!
He said winking at her.
Maithili rolled her eyes.
M: if I'm coming, then I'll wear what I want!
Adi shook his head.
He went to her and she backed into a wall. He leaned his elbow against the wall nad his face, close ot hers.

A: look missy…he whispered in her ear
His breath sent shivers down her spine.
"you're going ot wear just this…or I'm not going to move out of your room."
M: ha! That's the best you can do!!
A: oh..theres more to com! He said pulling her closer.
Their lips were only milllimeters apart and almost brushing.
A: 'm going to say here all night long and here in the morning until your mom opens the door and sees me here lyeing on the bed beside you…
Maithili slowly gained control of her dropping jaw and pushed him away.
M: you!!! blackmailer!!! Stupid stupi donkey!!!
A: and you're the donkey's fianc!
Saying so adi walked down the ladder and went away.

** the whole party will be another turn of events adn things will change, but the change will only affect AM after marriage** 😉 😊

Ok, my take on this part...um the engagement and all went on really fast...as Metz was talking in the mirrior one tiime and the other she was exchanging engagement rings with Adi!..Anyways, good part but...I think it could have been better if u had made AM suffer from the disease called 'marriage' more!😆 Um..and I think I am confused about the engagement part cuz I saw the pics of that Garima gal hugging Adi before comming on to ur FF!😡 I hate that Garima gal! Poor AM!
