To reiterate, I am not against any show. I am okay with Naagin and SNS airing because I understand that the Indian appetite for content is huge and one genre can’t satisfy everyone. In fact I am against people who constantly mock fantasy and sass-bahu shows. As long as the content is not regressive it’s fine.

Second, can you blame them? Saath Nibhana Saathiya’s repeat is getting 1.8ish ratings at 3pm! People still want to watch such shows only. Blaming makers blindly is not right. For instance look at the Naanum franchise. If I am not wrong, you were completely against that franchise because it’s storyline is so repetitive. But it seems like you are watching the show yourself.

So my point is as long as Naagin and SNS are the kind of shows people want to watch, those are the kind of shows that channels will air mostly.

@BOLD I can see you probably defending the channel which i dont know on what intents and purposes ! If business matters the most, the content should be the priority and not drama firstly. Drama doesnt profit them, content gives them the profit its high now they realize this. A tight slap by a mother in law doesnt increase the trp but daughter in law establishing herself does.

@BOLD2 Yes i blame them again and again. SNS has numerous repeats being an old closed show, it runs even on their sister channel Star Utsav. The reason behind SNS receiving trp is that they are airing it. All counts to the trp (Repeats + Time slot). Also, your answer is in the question itself, yes i am watching N5, but how can you be so sure without watching that it has repetitive storyline. After watching it i came to know that it was a completely fresh and different storyline from all the past seasons, thus its watchable.

@BOLD3 And i will say that stop comparing Naagin and SNS. Naagin is a series with new season whereas SNS is an old drama. SNS has been stopped 2 years ago so why the point of airing is coming here ! The repeats are nostalgia for audience and if the channel keeps on running a nostalgic old show, who wont watch it. If they are stopped then no trps will counted anymore.

If for channel everything is business then for audience content is priority. If they dont understand viewers requirement, viewers wont understand their business model too. Viewers watch tv shows to get entertained not to watch how much the channel earned by airing an advertisement in between a show. Most of the audience doesnt even know what is trp ! For them, the makers and the channel did injustice with the show and thats the fact. If channel dont rejuvenate their ways of providing content then audience wont cash on them. Simple as that !

Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum had 1.9 trp still they didnt continued the show whereas when Kasautii had 1.6 trp they kept it on run only and only because the producer has cash. For channel content shows are flop and experiments but if the show is produced by an elite producer they are ready to lick their feet too. This needs to be stopped any how as its simply killing every good show that deserves a good run.

Exactly. Wish the channels stop experimenting content based/different contents shows on prime time.

Example SP should have aired Anupama on 9pm slot. Seems like there is a huge appetite for the drama based stories.

Allow other genres to tell the story without too much trp pressures.

Like you said. ITV audiance base is huge and there will be takers for shows that are not based on saas bahu/fantasy (mindless)dramas.

The mocking of these popular dramas comes because that's all we are served with because they sell quickly.

Hope the audiance who asks for quality shows watch and support them instead of constant bickering about how the story should progress.

Too much critiques affects the show more than the channel interference. Perfect example is KHKT..

You are partially correct when you say a producer can influence the channel. That’s true for any business. If you have a powerful investor in your company, you’d think twice before termination one of their projects which is not working because you don’t want to upset them. But that’s about it. About KZK vs KHKT, the comparison isn’t entirely fair. 9pm is a better slot than 8pm. Expectations are different in these slots.

I haven’t watched Naagin5, but if it is once again about naagmani and revenge for husband being killed or soemthing, yeah it is repetitive. People might watch it for many reasons: don’t have anything else to watch, fan of actors, like fantasy shows etc... Doesn’t mean the story is any different from what was already shown. IMO the franchise is very templatised. Their base story is more or less the same which makes it kinda repetitive.

I agree with your second last point that franchise is very templatised but first few lines proved that you actually havent watched Naagin 5, its neither about naagmani nor husband. This time its all about a twisted love-hate story where the first naagin wants to avenge an eagle who had mercilessly killed her lover (Eagle is the antihero of this story). But yeah i wish it to be the final season of this franchise.

Recent promo of YRHPK is looking very bad 🤢. I think makers completely lost their control on the story and they are writing all these nonsense tracks to get TRP. I wish this latest promo is also misleading like before promos. Till now, they showed Kuhu calling Abir as a "brother", but in latest promo Misti is requesting Kuhu to become a surrogacy mother to her child. What a shitty track 🤢.

Today's episode is also looked so fake to me. They whitewashed all the RV family members wrong behavior towards leads. If the script is very bad, even the popular leads will also not save the show for long time. YRHPK is going in a negative direction now.
