4. Shut Up!

Rohit stacked up the bundle of papers, filing them. 'One down, five more to go.' He thought. It was a hectic day at work and he hated it when he had work to bring home too, but things were not going to do themselves.
He sighed as Sonakshi yelled at the tv screen, she was urging the female lead to not enter the kitchen as there was a hooded villain hiding behind the door with a knife. Thriller movies were her new favorite thing to watch and Rohit was bearing the brunt of that, she woke him from sleep to get water from the kitchen every single time, she was too much of a chicken.
"Sona?" he said, prodding her.
"Hmm?" She said without taking her eyes off the TV.
"Can you go watch the match in the living room? I have more work to." He said, gesturing at the piles of paper that were strewn across the bed.
"No can do. Mumma is watching Masterchef there."
"Then go to Ajeeth's room."
"Can't. He is watching Endgame again! He'll be crying and I can't be bothered to console him,that boy loves to torture himself." She rolled her eyes at her husband as she paused the match and turned to him.
"Well then can you keep it down?"
She made a face. "Aise movie dekhne mein kya mazza Rohit, tum dad ke study mein jaoo na."
"I have to shift stuff and I really don't want to do that." Rohit whined as Sonakshi crawled out of bed to grab the water bottle.
"I thought in a relationship people try to fake interest in others activities or hobbies. Watch the movie with me"
"Well if that were the case, you should have read Harry Potter a long time ago."
Sonakshi rolled her eyes again as she crawled back in and readjusted the pillows.
"You would like that, wouldn't you. I said I will get to it. But you never try."
"I did try!" He exclaimed.
"Did you Rohit, did you?" She said as she un-paused the game again.
"Oh don't do the double question thing to prove a point. I hate it when people do that."
"Do you Rohit, do you?"
"Oh shut up!" He said as he grabbed her face and kissed her full on the mouth.
"That is a good way to shut someone up" Sonakshi grinned as she shifted her attention back to the TV.
"It is the only way to shut you up." Rohit grumbled under his breath.
He smiled to himself as Sona turned down the volume a bit.

Awwh can't believe I didn't see this before! It's a very cute collection of short drabbles. I love reading about domestic RoNakshi

While I really enjoyed all of these, I have to say, my favourite was the third one. Just something about them in their own realm, yet together!

I'll be waiting for more (:
