I think we need to watch this show with a pinch of salt.

Its clearly divided into two perspectives: Rohit's and Sonakshi's. The question of logic vs magic is one of the main parts of the show. Hence, they need to show the different perspectives. If you see carefully, all the couples in ITV are portrayed as having different personalities, hence opinion. It's the same here.

Coming back to my point, Rohit's banter, questions stands out because Sonakshi's delusion with magic is highlighted. If she was like yeah, this is illogical, crap, Rohit would agree with her and that's the end, no banter whatsoever. And for us, Sonakshi glorification ( which I agree is getting too much) is irritating because we are all Rohit's here.

Tbh those crap tracks you mentioned works because of TRPs. But apne peid par kulhari kaun Marta hain😂 and they aren't going to do it as well!

The reason why makhis, naagin and ITVs new phenomena chip kali doesn't work with the critical audience (let's not talk about CGI) is because there is no consistent, tight writing. I haven't watched GoT so won't comment on that, but I do watch Chinese shows and in one of them, the FL was portrayed as a grape vine😅 but it works because of the writing. It works because even before getting a launch date, these shows already have their scripts ready. Unlike ITV, where the writing is done acc. to the liking of the audience with extensions which leads to inconsistencies and nonsensical tracks. What I'm trying to say is you can use makhis or whatever species you want if you are good at the writing.

Anyway enough of me!

Yeah my feelings were exactly the same.

Imagine in GOT somehow there is a peaceful wedding (arre just hypothetically imagine) , and the bride and groom are exchanging rings. Groom closes his eyes and kisses the bride and opens his eyes only to see a dragon kissing him back. 🤣

Kya hua? Ichadhari Dragon nahi suna kya kabhi😆

Now this dragon will be a pativrata patni and do all ghar ka kaam because kaam wali bai and dragon patni are just the se things.

This is exactly what these itv shows are. They just swap from Drama to fantasy to mythology and then have the audacity to compare themselves with GOT.

I am happy to see that today Rohit openly said this is non sense to his mom. And also that he told everyone that Sonakshi is Sonakshi not Parvati

LOL I think all of us were irritated at tis only blot on an otherwise good episode. Actually I read these scenes not as Sonakshi trying to convince Rohit but Dipika Kakar trying to convince the audience. Its like Dipika breaking the 4th wall. When this show started I dint know any of these actors & then I found out that Dipika was the lead of SSK. I havent watched many post Doordarshan Indian soaps except 3-4 but even I ve heard of SSK. Such is the notoriety of SSK. I think Dipika must ve constantly been mocked & criticized for that silly show & I feel these scenes have been inserted into this show as more of an outlet for Dipika to get back at the critics. This is like a meta story within the main story line. Of course this is my personal take & I could be totally off the target. But every time I c Sonakshi justifying Parvati I actually c Dipika trying to explain away the horror that was SSK.

Really? So it’s just a simple binary choice? If you agree about just one thing, there can never be any banter on any other point? 😕😆

Isn’t that a failure of the writing then if they cannot make the characters more fully formed beyond so called banter on only one point?

Why are we making excuses for them rather than expecting competence from them? 🤷‍♀️

Well that's what we've been fed with in ITV! I never said there isn't any other point of banter, but this show is clearly focusing on 2 individuals from 2 vastly different fields, so that difference (in POV and reasoning) was always going to pop up in the banter (Here, it's in the beginning!). It's upto the writer, of course, not to exaggerate on that and show different layers of the characters.

I mean it's been one month, should we expect fully formed character? I don't know, I'd prefer character development over uni-dimensional characters.

At the end of the day, despite being self satirical, it's still ITV and is still obsessed with TRPs, so it's better that we dont watch the show with too much expectation. 😊

I had originally written my views about this track on Twitter which I am copy pasting over here.

Sonakshi was trying justify supernatural shows before Rohit and she used the same excuse which Ekta does to justify her stand.I just want them to know that I don't have a problem the the supernatural genre.Rather I am a huge fan of it.The problem lies with the execution of the shows and their storyline.Years ago we had Hatim,Sonpari,Shararat,Karma,Sshh Koi Hai,etc. No one hated them or called them regressive. They are still loved and remembered as classics.Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani was extremely popular.Sony TV had a show called Seven and it was a contemporary superhero/fantasy drama with a touch of our ancient myths. That was a cool show.

The producers need to understand where they went wrong and how they turned the supernatural/paranormal/fantasy genre into a joke.Period.

Speaking of GoT,then it was adored by almost everyone across the globe because of it's interesting storyline and powerful characters.Ironically the final season of GoT was received negatively just because the writers ruined its storyline and the plot and execution was abysmal.CGI cannot save any show if it doesn't have a proper script to back it.

I can't help but feel that the writers are using this show to justify all the bulls*it which is being shown on ITV nowadays.Rohit represents the frustrated ITV audience whereas Sonakshi represents the ITV producers.Isn't it weird to see how Sonakshi is always shown as the extra sweet perfect girl who can do no wrong? The story is from her perspective and anyone who is against her is projected in a negative light.Had they shown her as a normal, flawed person like everyone else it would have made more sense. But it's not Sonakshi who the audience relate to.It's Dr Rohit Sippy. His scenes in the initial episodes were what generated the hype for this show.

By showing Rohit agreeing with Sona ,the ITV producers are giving a clear message to the audience. We shouldn't complain or criticise the show even if it's a pathetic one.We are supposed to believe that we are wrong for trolling these shows.

@bold: On one side, so many here say this show is better than most other ITV shows, then in the next breath, some are saying this is just how ITV works so suck it up? 😆. Which is it? Can’t be both at the same time. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know about you but I’ve watched ITV for many years so I’m not naive about this. I have a fair amount of experience to know when a show is going downhill. You seem to think it’s “only been a month”, while I can tell that it’s not a matter of time passed but the fundamental nature of the way the story is being portrayed that’s falling apart here.

You don’t see it that way, fair enough. Everyone reaches the inevitable conclusion about the truth in their own time 😆. Happy watching 😊

@bold: Exactly. It’s become crystal clear now that this show is an exercise in glorifying the ITV industry where they supposedly are the greatest ppl on the planet working super hard and we are all wrong if we dare criticize them even for crappy content 🙄🙄

Sonakshi as a character feels caricaturish now with her excessive preaching on the greatness of her show and industry while Rohit comes across as a dim bulb who is just one step away from starting to worship Sonakshi himself. Lol

The depiction of the attraction is trite as well. Doesn’t flow naturally and comes across as put on. Instead of developing chemistry properly, it’s random eye locks in filmy situations 🤷‍♀️😂
