Swapnil turns spiritual
Apart from acting and directing a short film, Joshi enjoys attending discourses conducted by his guru.
Swapnil Joshi, who plays Arjun in 'Kadvee Khatti Meethi'(Star One) is a different person these days. Swapnil, who usually follows the routine grind of shuttling between sets and home, has found a new way to rejuvenate himself. The actor has discovered peace in the discourses of Guru Kumar Swami. He says, "I feel nice listening to his discourses. The best part about it is that it is not religious preaching. Instead you are advised about practical ways to lead a happy and successful life."
Although Swapnil now devotes a day every month to Guru Kumar Swami, he was skeptical about the idea of attending discourses when he first heard about them. He shares his opinion on the same. "In India, when you say that you are getting drawn towards spiritualism, the world starts thinking of you as an ascetic. I too tested myself by attending a few discourses of Swamiji. When I was convinced, I began attending his sessions every month."
He adds, "During the discourse, I feel absolutely disconnected from the world and I am best connected to myself. For once, I do not have to worry about dates and scenes. I am free from the dominance of material things in my life."
At the moment, life is looking bright for Swapnil as he is enjoying his role as a brat in 'Kadvee Khatti Meethi' and awaits the release of his Marathi film. But what he is really looking forward to is the release of the short film 'Tathastu' that he has directed. "It should be released in May. I am doing it out of pure passion for the art and not as a commercial instrument. I hope it is appreciated," he smiles.
