He filled sindoor in her hair parting, face expressionless, eyes emotionless. She cried silently, and thankfully the veil covered her face. The other people smiled happily as Yash filled Gauri's hair parting with sindoor. She heard the claps and wiped her tears, but again tears flooded in her eyes when the Pandit said,

"Vivah sampan hua...Aaj se aap ek doosre ke jeevan saathi hai..."

Yug looked at the girl, who was sleeping on the couch... She hadn't bothered to change. The cold wind found its way through the window and touched her skin, making her shiver. She wrapped her arms around herself, hoping that would ease her difficulties, but that didn't happen so. She curled up into a ball on that couch, and was fast asleep.

Yug closed his eyes, thinking of the past few days.

"Daadi, mujhe shaadi karni hai..." Yash said and all looked at him in surprise.

Yash continued nervously. "Uska naam Gauri Jha hain, woh Vishwaveer Jha ki beti hai..."

"Wahin Vishwaveer Jha jo apni astrology ke famous hai?" His father asked him and he nodded. "Hum kal unse baat karenge" Daadi said happily. Yug smiled happily seeing at least his younger brother would marry the love of his life.

Here Gauri too told her father what she wished for and her father happily agreed, since the Chaudhry's were famous in Mithila for their successful business.

Next day the elders went to meet the Jha family. Yug entered the house a

Entered the gate, trying to save himself from the raindrops that were falling on the land that was already wet. He felt an unusual feeling, so turned to see to his left, to see a girl, younger to him by some 2 years, getting wet and dancing in the rain. The dress stuck to her body, going transparent in places, but she wasn't bothered about it. She was smiling... that smile looked so beautiful...so amazing... Suddenly his trance was broken when she stopped dancing and touched her neck. Then she got hyper. Yug walked to her, almost in a trance and stood in front of her. She was searching for something in the green grass frantically. Her face showed worry and it looked as if she would burst out crying any moment. Then someone called her and she rushed to the house, not sparing a glance for Yug. Yug looked at the ground, to see a gold ring. He picked it and examined the ring of a small child and gasped in shock.

"Ahhh"

Kali said in pain as she slipped on the water but felt muscular arms around her waist and looked at the person dressed in a blue T-shirt. His face had a weird charm. She looked in eyes and felt the world stop. His touch was...magic! For the first time in 22 years of her life, she felt as if she belonged there... His intense gaze made her blush, made her happy. He looked up, when someone called him, breaking her trance. She too looked up to see her sister look at them. Yug helped her stand straight.

"Kaali, met my jhetji, Yug... and Yug, this is Kaali, my Kaala Teeka..." Gauri said and smiled. Yug, "Sorry, did I hear you right? Kaala Teeka?"

"Excuse me..." Kaali said awkwardly and left.

Before Gauri could answer his question, Yug felt his mobile vibrate in her pocket. He had received a message from his client that he wanted to meet him, so he left the house, not waiting for Gauri to explain him the reality.

Yug looked at the ring, as his sweet childhood memories flashed infront of his eyes. His two meets with that unusual girl, who called him her Ramji, and the two somehow ended up depicting Ram-Sita, once in the temple, and then in the skit. He must have smiled wholeheartedly after 2 years.

Yug, to himself, "Kaali, finally tum mujhe mil hi gayi... Par main ab tumhe apni Sita nahi maan sakta... kyunki meri zindagi mein ab pyaar ke liye koi jagah nahi hai"

He heard a knock on the door, so said, "Come in"

Daadi entered the room and smiled at him.

Daadi, "Yug, hum tumhare liye ek rishta laaye hai..."

Yug, rolling his eyes, "Not again Daadi... Mujhe shaadi nahi karni hai..."

Daadi, "Gauri ki behen, Kaali ka rishta ka hai Yug..."

Yug looked at her in shock. He couldn't think of any reaction. But what he didn't know that his Daadi would now be telling him something that would be unimaginable.

Daadi, "Gauri ki kundali kamzor hai, aur iska ek hi upaay hai ki hum uske Kaala Teeka, yaani Kaali ko uske saath iss ghar mein laaye, taaki Yash sahi-salaamat rahe... Lekin hum usse naukar ke hesiyat se rakhenge toh samajh mein humari badnaami hogi... Isiliye unke Purohit ne tum dono ki shaadi karwaane ke upaay sujhaaya, kyunki uski kundali aur tumhari kundali milti hai..."

The only word that escaped Yug's mouth was, "Kya? Yeh aap kya keh rahi hain?"
Daadi, "Hum samajhte hai ki tum shocked ho... lekin tum dono ki shaadi mein hi sabki bhalaai hai Yug..."

"I can't marry her" He yelled.

Daadi sighed. "Tumhe uss ladki se shaadi karni padegi Bahua... humare Khandaan aur apne Bhai ke liye tum itna bhi nahi kar sakte?"

"I'll give my life for Yash, but that doesn't mean I'll ruin that girl's life Daadi..." He replied pleadingly

Daadi didn't reply. Yug sighed and walked out of the house angrily.

The next few days passed like nothing. They were engaged and in two days married. Yug entered his room after marriage to see it decorated with flowers. He sighed. He looked at Kali, who stood timidly near the gallery.

Before he could speak, she said, "Hum adjust kar lenge..."

She arranged the mattress on the floor. He sighed. Why was she making him guilty? He thought and went closer to her. He couldn't muster the courage to look at her expression. He removed the mattress from the floor and arranged it on the couch. She mumbled a "thanks" and sat on the couch. He went to change. When he came out of the washroom, he saw that she was fast asleep and not changed. A part of him wanted to wake her and tell her to change since the heavy lehenga and jeweler would trouble her, but he chose otherwise. He lied on the bed and kept staring at her. Soon sleep overtook his thoughts.

I think in all ff yug ke bhai ka naam Yash hi hoga 😛 even the other one also it's Yash. Anyway yug and Yash suits well.. 😃
