Today, finally we get to see what's going on in Jyoti's home. In the opening scene, Dayal uncle gives Jyoti her salary, which she then passes to Kalpana for safekeeping, since her own hands are totally mehendi smeared. Jyoti then has flashback of sweet memories when she enjoyed bringing gifts home, and everybody cherished what she brought home.
The scene then switched from the imaginary Padma to the real Padma, where she is forced to underpay the delivery guy, and tell him not to bring crushed atta next time, while dadi decides to get rid of the desi ghee. KK chuckles, and notes that the absense of Jyoti is now going to be felt by everybody who didn't love her. I had mixed feelings when he called the manager of the firm that gave him his translation work, and told not to expect anything before the 10th. Essentially, the household is financially on the brink.
So even after they find out that Jyoti got married w/o even informing, let alone inviting them, when she offers them her next paycheck, they'll have no choice but to suck up and accept it, no matter how humiliated they feel at her decision. Essentially, they'll have to accept that whether they get her money w/ or w/o love and honor, they'll have to take it, and check their self respect at the front door.
I love this potential humiliation of the besharam Sharmas!!! 👏
Oh, and the icing on the cake - the hotel manager telling Brij that he can't keep them unless Sushma learns to smile. Brij then reads Sushma the riot act if she doesn't enjoy acting the role of a dancer. Although I don't think it's totally fair - maybe, they should get Brij a role in a Chippendale's club, where he gets to dance in a thong 😆😆😆Of course, I realize that there may not be one in Udaipur
At any rate, I liked the detours today at both the Sharma's house, as well as at the hotel Brij/Sushma were performing 👏
