Problem is...
For most mothers love for a child > anything in this world.
For Ammijaan, the love for a child could not be > than sorrow/adversity/giving up love/poverty etc...
so she left...

From the lines 'purple bruises' on her wrists... which she tries to cover up with her sleeve... (chapter 57)
it shows she's always been quietly nervous, never really HAPPY happy... never quite forgiven herself for leaving her child... it was a Patriarchal society... she couldn't go against her husband (esp a powerful one) or who knew what he'd do to Akbar?
In secret, she has tried to reconnect, but Akbar would have none of it!

yess yess...

actually i was just contemplating about the amount of pain one feels , no matter how much time & effort passes still one cannot stay unaffected from it .

Ofcourse, while it's sort of left to reader interpretation, in my mind - the purple bruises (specifically on wrists... so no, not domestic violence) indicates her wringing her bangles so hard, that it's left bruises behind. Especially after she got the news that Akbar was caught/imprisoned.

According to her husband and everyone watching, she's meant to have no relationship with her past life/son. Being in the political circle, she has to keep up that facade, and keep her emotions to herself (from husband/shehzaadi & friends etc) ...an once-ambitious woman has been reduced to this mellow Lady... it means she has no outlet (hence woman trapped inside analogy/prisoner)

So, she vents in private, by excessive fidgeting? Silent tears? Etc
That was my 'logic' behind it. 😳

The ego will tell you that peace, happiness, love, prosperity, and everything else is on the outside. The ego will tell you that once you find something outside of you, you will be good. Your life will be perfect. It doesnt work that way. Once you find happiness, peace, love, prosperity, and everything else on the inside, then you will see it on the outside. Thats how it works.

Shehzaade...😛

'Alright then' Burying the wistful train of thoughts under an earnest smile, she set her hand upon his heart, bringing about the most handsome grin to his features yet. 'Khan Sahib, Let me take you home...'

He got so fed up by the end of the inner-turmoils, didn't he?

Btw, did you like the flashback part of it... the desert storm Akbar actually refers to in chapter 25? I had goosebumps when I wrote that last bit...

He still stands by that oath - nothing materialistic could get him to betray his master... not even today.
Only love compelled him to do so... love for a 16 year old orphaned heiress, burning her scrolls and hiding it from his master to protect her from the harsh world of political treachery.

Which is why Shehzaade kept going back to that promise... he could see the truth, but he refused to SEE it!

yesshhh...

that inner turmoil , his own madness ...whatever happened to him by end was no less than a treat to me & to my sadistic satisfaction .

flashback...at first i felt something else , there is going to be some attack & my thoughts went on & on & on...😆

but as i read further i realized , that its all part of flashback , the incident which akbar mentioned long back , during extracting the promise from shehzaade .

off course , khan sahib lived up to his promise & whatever he did still he didn't turned faithless in fact he tried his best to control the situation & lessen the harm . he never seriously swindled shehzaade & at the same time took care of his love interest , balanced both the affairs acutely .

if anyone who was truly worthy of such mad wrath , then it was that deranged animal...who actually slipped some real secrets , who actually tarnished this doomed aristocrat's biggest asset .

Dear Lashy
We knew all long that t beautiful tale will have a happy ending cudn have asked for anything more. But what makes this epic saga stand out ...is t way emotions are portrayed ... simple yet natural ...subtle yet overpowering
👏

I loved t way how you connect events in bringing out t true feelings especially the ones that are locked in a realm faraway... like the duel with a condition ,in many ways it kind of is associated with Heera. Similarly t desert scene that was connected with the Mughal Prince. Then comes mijaan with her share of play ...But all of them have a commom focal point " AKBAR MOHAMOUD KHAN "

A name I have grown fond of and will always b a part my subconscious memory. ❤️

Let me end by saying this Nothing Absolutely Nothing can take away t feeling i have cherished while reading this beautiful piece of Art in t recent times.

Kudos Girl ⭐️

Loads of admiration & wishes

Regards,
TT

Very well said, Manu👏

if anyone who was truly worthy of such mad wrath , then it was that deranged animal...who actually slipped some real secrets , who actually tarnished this doomed aristocrat's biggest asset .

all three of them... Khalil worst, of course... the most damage starting right from Durga's life!
