But it IS the same leads, na? It IS the same people 'in a different time, in a different place' aka 21st c London.

While Akbar Mahmoud Khan cannot be the secret assassin who's pledged his life to a prince, or Harka Bai an heiress running for her life following the murder of her sister; everything else slowly reveals itself to possess quite a few similarities to HBAS. Just never spelt it in so many words, and its tone is lighter overall. A stranger falling in love with a woman who's partially-sighted is the very crux of HBAS. It cannot be very different here, can it?

She misses her best friend, her sister, who's dead.

Despite being partially blind, is independent (brave enough to travel the underground at 9 pm first time) and well-read.

He comes as the first distraction in her life that lets her feel 'emotion' even though she has others around her.

Amber is another shade of Hazel. 😉

Mr. Midnight Blue is a bit of a recluse. (Her shadow entering his personal space in the station)

Self-reliant (never forgotten even a pair of shades or a pen)

Strongly instinctive (he realises something is wrong about this Raichand company from a few misrepresented facts in a meeting and stops the business deal in time)

Even though he pays no heed to Miss Pretty Phone at first, the fact that she's partially-blind draws him to her - the moment he sees the stick, something tugs at his heart string and quietly helps her get into the train.

There's an instant (forbidden???) attraction between the two.

Feels extremely protective of her for whatever reason, though never makes a show of it (skips his station to sit with her because of the football fan episode, is irritated with fiancee for letting her travel alone)

He finally lets her go without giving her any details of himself because she belongs to another man and it is the right thing to do. Till, of course, later on, he feels she is in trouble with them.

Abheer - the man she's engaged to - is basically using her for her money.

In the half-an-hour's meeting with the stranger, she felt safer than she'd felt (even with her Godparents.)

She doesn't know his real name till later.

This is the absolute truth. Knowledge is power, there is not limit or age bar to learn anything. We do learn something new everyday, I believe in that 100% because I experience it!
