Rekha, this is my Jaaneman's sense of humor! They were the only ones burning their midnight oils! 😆 And who are awake in the night time other than the 'bhoots' and 'bhootnis'! 🤣 Since at that moment only Manu and Lashy were awake followed by Selvi, Lashy called themselves 'Raat ki safed Rani' by putting up pictures of HBAS's Caspers! 😆

By the way, I wanted to ask you, when the twin towers went down did you work back then in your store? Did you actually see the towers collapse?

After reading about your experience in USA I was thinking, I have heard from my aunts and relatives who came over 30 - 40 years back in this country said similar stories of settling down here. Some of my aunts didn't speak English at all and they even had the language barrier. How they coped and learned and some even landed themselves good jobs is amazing to hear. 😃 This is also the reason why Jhumpa Lahiri wrote Namesake based on her parent's life and the life of Indian community back then.

Luckily when I came there were calling cards which I used to buy in bulks to call up India. Luckily now we have the internet, WA and Skype. 😃

As usual, my CNN is on, and it is amazing to see the power and force of Mother Nature! Florence now is Cat 1 but even before landfall, it has started making its presence known. Amazing to watch the tides, surge, floods, power outs, gusts, downpours due to the monster storm!

Hope everyone remains safe! I know it is difficult to leave your home, but nothing is more important than your life! Houses or material things can be achieved again but if Life is taken away nothing will be regained! But I know it is easier said than done! 🤔
