my nani had severe diabetes & she was suffering from years , her health worsened many times before too but by god's grace each time she recovered . some time back she was diagnosed with stone in gall bladder but it could not be treated due to sugar problem . two days before friday she again felt the horrible pain due to stone & her condition was deteriorating , fortunately this time too she got fine by thursday night but on friday morning her BP shoot up & sugar levels were totally down , they were taking her to hospital when she collapsed .

my parents were back on sunday . in a way we all know she got relief from all the pain she has bored all through these years . But the saddest part is there is a wedding in the same family ( a most awaited one ) , if all had went well my nani would hv seen & blessed her first grandson & his to be wife , we all were happiest that it would be happening infront of her but just 10 days before this sad occurrence has dampened the spirits of all .

I don't know whether to call this a very uncanny (and in some ways???) a very unpleasant coincidence or what...
But just after having exited the wedding venue in high spirits [extremely knackered from lack of sleep for 4 days ... but still, had such fun!!!] yesterday, I come to the airport to get a call from the venue to let me know that my cousin (the bride's) naani's health has taken a severe turn for the worse.

So, my chacha chachi the bride groom all rushed to the hospital from the wedding venue without even packing anything... Then,in a few hours, just before boarding, I got the news that she passed away.
We are a close family...so my chachi's mom is someone quite close to me too... and I know my cousins must be devastated... my chaachi never let it show for the last week that her mom was slipping because she wanted to be happy for her daughter. (I had no idea about this or that her health was in this poor-a-state!) Apparently, they'd requested doctors to keep her functioning till the wedding...

And as fate had it, she passed away just a few hours after...

It's a strange turn-of-events that has never taken place in my family before.. so I think everyone is a little lost... with tears and gloom instead of the post-weddiing mahaul.😕
Feel especially sorry for my Chachi and my bride cousin...

Manu.. she was suffering from diabetes too that got worse with a fall.. and then a gangrene in her feet that could not be operated.. in her last days, she stopped recognizing what was happening around her... she suffered for a few years too... her health deteriorating through it...

This is bad ...
I don't know what to say. ...
Feeling really sorry for your chachi lashy di...but i must say strong women she is.
Women who very well managed to do all her responsibility...
...very well she portrayed great mother and great daughter at a same time.

And about the new bride. ...
I can't imagine how she is feeling now...

Words cannot express my sadness . May the comfort of God help you through this difficult time .

Stay strong lashy di.

Bablookutty's Grandma in B&B super Speciality Hospital.

Selvi, the lightning pictures scared the daylights out of G'ma, all right.😊

The highest temperature of 110 degrees went even higher to 112 degrees.😲

Babloo and Baby have been feeding some juicy information to the doctors about Grandma's Rajat Uncle fixation.😉

G'ma tell them there are a dozen more patients in the HBAS house with this same mind problem. 😆

G'ma more terrified of exercises than the lightning strike pictures now.😃

Yay, Minakutty has joined the hospital as well- the HBAS residents are going to make a beeline for the hospital on one pretext or another.😳

Periyamma, what a strike! 👏

The three docs are so photogenic.

Thank you so much for this and also for Minakutty's dream debut! 🤗

Lashy,
Very sorry to hear about the sad news... It is strange that both Manu's and your cousin's grandmas have passed away under similar circumstances..
BTW, those sketches were not done by me.. But while posting those pictures I definitely had the ideaof doing it myself. Such sort of drawings I can do. For that I should learn how to post photos in the thread..
And do you know, I did a pencil sketch of Ritikutty?

Dr. Bablookutty, M.S. Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Bablookutty's Grandma in B&B super Speciality Hospital.
( After seeing the lightning pictures posted by Selvi in the HBAS thread ,
Grandma got scary and suddenly her BP shot up high. She also had fever with the 'highest' temperature of 110 degrees..)

(Baby'kka just returns from school)

Babloo: Baby'kka..Do you know? Grandma is having fever..
Baby: What? Why suddenly? She was alright in the morning when she took me to school..
Babloo: 'kka.. She saw some pichers in the laptop and she got scared.
Baby: What pictures..
Babloo: It's about lightning..
Baby: Where did she see them?
Babloo: In Lashy'kka's story.. Selvi'kka put those pichers..Baby'kka.. I tested grandma with fever meter.. She has high fever.. 110 degrees..What should we do?
Baby: Then we must take her to Hospital..
Babloo: I call the 'mbulance..

(So, the responsible kutties shift Grandma to their family hospital, B&B Super Speciality Hospital..At the hospital she is being taken to the Emergency..)

Dr. Babloo: Dr. Baby'kka..Who is this grandma.. Looks very old..Her eyes are popping up..

Dr. Baby: Dr. Babloo.. She is the grandma of two mischievous little kids.. She is having fever..
Dr. Babloo: But why is she staring like this?
Dr.Baby: The little one says that she looked at something in the Laptop and got scared..
Dr. Babloo: Ahh..that's why she got fever..I will test her..
Dr.Baby: That boy says that he tested with the fever meter and it was 110 degrees..( Laughs) How can it be 110 degrees?..
Dr. Babloo: 110 degrees? Alright.. I will test her with my fever meter.. ( Tests her..)
Oh no.. Its not 110 degrees..
Dr.Baby: See doctor, I told you..
Dr. Babloo: Its 112 degress!😲 I will give her 'njection..
( Takes the injection syringe. Grandma looks at him with more scary eyes..)
Grandma: Doctor.. Will it hurt?
Dr. Babloo: It wont hurt grandma.. Turn the other side and don't look at me giving 'njection..
Grandma: Doctor you are using such a big needle..😲..
Dr. Babloo: That's because the fever is 112 degrees.. If it is 100 degrees, I will give 'njection with small needle..
Dr. Baby: After the doctor gives you injection, come to my room grandma..
Dr. Babloo: Why Dr. Baby'kka? grandma is my patient..
Dr. Baby: That is for fever. She is scared of something. So I must treat her as a mind doctor..
G'ma: 😲WHAT? Mind Doctor? I am not mad , doctor...
Dr. Baby: No..no..no..grandma.. Don't be afraid..You are not mad.. But you have some mind problem..
G'ma: Who said I have mind problem?😡
Dr.Babloo: Your Bablookutty said that once when you saw Rajat uncle dying in Nagin serial , you cried and you had fever like this..
G'ma: What?
Dr. Baby: And your Baby also said that when you saw Rajat uncle crying in Jodha Akbar serial, you cried with him..and your hanky was wet with tears..
G'ma: ( murmurs) you..you..mischievous kids.. did you say all these to the doctors?

( So Grandma has to obey the doctor's orders and she goes to Dr. Baby's room).

Dr. Baby: Grandma.. you seem to have a weak mind.. I will now test you and give you some exercises..
G'ma: Doctor .. please.. I am very old and I can't do any exercises..
Dr. Baby: It is easy exercise grandma.. you will just have to count from 300 backward..Like 300, 299, 298 ..
G'ma: That's not easy..I may make mistakes..Can I try from 100?
Dr. Baby: No.. the treatment is only from 300.. Okay.. Go and lie down on the bench grandma..
( Dr. Babloo enters..)
Dr. Babloo: Doctor'kka..there is a patient waiting for you outside..
Dr.Baby: But who will be there with grandma..
Dr. Babloo: I will send the trainee doctor Miss Minakutty...

Dr. Baby Sarasa, M.B.B.S. Master of Psychiatry.

Dr. Minakutty, Trainee Doctor.

Thanks girls
Periyamma... I'll get back to all the beautiful posts that haven't yet been responded to, properly...
shall go and catch up on some much-needed sleep for a few hours before I head off to pick up kutties from school...
had no idea about the Rithi kutty sketch though... I'll check it out...
and I knew you COULD do them.. which is why the doubt cropped up in my mind...

The rest of you - I imagine a big squishy hug from all of you - because I could do with one!🤗
