You're right - it wasn't after she was born... but after the plague that hit Parnagarh 12 years ago that took away the lives of both, her mom & step mom.
Her father didn't wed after that.
So, Heera would've been 4 and Durga 5. But they wouldn't remember anything much. Especially not Heera.

Just looking up and seeing those piercing eyes from that partially covered face in the riding shawl will make me go dry and parched! And then slowly when the shawl will dip a little due to the wind and I will be able to see his nose and firm mouth and that beard accentuating his face outline another big THUD within me and I may pass out all in all but again not for motion sickness, it is for sickness of a different nature! 😉🤣

Yes. Lashy was the first to imagine rogue smokers of the poor sporeating mushrooms. And now this cute prem kahaani. Next time, whenever I see a mushroom i am going to look out for its jodi and family.🤣

The Late Mansabdar, Jagat Prasad Singh had two wives na.. 😊

Heera and Durga were both born to the first wife. I have always imagined (as was in those days) that since the first wife wasn't able to bear him a son, he wed again... but when they both passed away succumbing to the plague... and with him getting busier at the capital (and maybe the grief of losing two wives) he decided not to marry again. 😳

When I read first I was confused about the lantern! I didn't know whether Heera wanted the lantern or not! I thought she wanted to get rid of that and then found her holding on to that and AMK let her!! 😆 Then realised the purpose!!

This is from Chapter 3

I think the small mention might have been overlooked/forgotten in what was otherwise a terrifying chapter/end for Durga. This is the part where Durga is alone in the Haveli reminiscing everything - her life, Parnagarh, her sister etc

Once at her room, the heiress sailed across the marble floors till she reached the jali window frames at the other end.

Perching her elbows against its sill, she drank the dusky sights in. Sights of endless greenery - starting from the mansion's rear gardens, to the hillock beyond, and the fertile valleys down below, where many idyllic villages flourished.

Apart from a horrible plague outbreak twelve years ago - a tragedy that'd claimed the lives of half the village, including those of their mother and stepmother - the valleys had always been a haven of peace. That is, until now.

'Mining the valleys would destroy everything we've worked hard for... the fields, the plantations, the water, the homes, the hospital, the peace... EVERYTHING! I'll never let that happen so long as I live!'

yes , i just read that don't know how it got missed before .

it is just like as it was in those days , but both dying due to the plague...😭

di i remember u posted one pic where two man were conversing one was believed to be a informer so that part will come in 45 now .
