Yes, she would've blown it out straightaway if there were other lamps in the waiting room.. but it was past night... and cold... and dim.. with none of the other lamps on... if they needed a light, then one of them might have to tip toe into the hallways, middle of the night, drawing attention to them yada yada... we know that's not ideal.. 😆

Basically, it was nothing more than a light-banter, that ended up breaking the ice between a nervous bride and an inexperienced groom

I thought she wanted to get rid of that and then found her holding on to that and AMK let her!! 😆

No no he wanted it with him.. mainly to show her what his insecurities were about - his past... 😳

And of course, as a man...to be able to see at least some of his bride's reactions.. her features as he makes love to her... 😉

If we go by history, Khilji did see Padmavati through mirrors because her husband requested her to show herself to Khilji!! If SLB had shown that then imagine what they would have done!!

Did they show in her swayamvar, Padmavati herself in disguise of a man challenged whoever can beat her in swordfight will get the garland of Padmavati? Her husband won and that is why she married him.

The mirror story we have read in AmarChitraKatha if i am not mistaken. And it is depicted in the movie too, but as on Padmavati's request to uphold peace. She is depicted as the practical one. She is shown for hardly a second and amidst smoke.

@bold: That is a new interesting story. Wish they had shown something like that. It would hasve justified Padmavati fall for Rawal Ratan Ringh.
