Hey Amita... I always have enjoyed reading your comment... as well as this one. I really loved your frank approach. You exactly know what you like and what you dislike. Well, I have included a political side of Jalal there are few reasons.
Well, it is important in the story to show his shrewdness and tactful quality of Jalal, I agree, I have shown so far more on, how Jalal Jodha relation grew with many problems. But the important factor as a writer I felt when I read the entire story before writing this chapter, Jalal's character somehow looked like a loving husband more than a Shahenshah.
No doubt there are many scenes I have portrait him as a king... Few in DWK... Few in warrior skill and few with his enemy Rana Pratap. But I was lacking in the story was his political tactic, how he got succeeded to get control over very loyal and brave Rajvanshi clan. If you read a chapter from 32 to 39... you will find so many romantic scenes between Jalal and Jodha... Don't you feel an overload of JJ scenes... I wanted to balance chapter 39 just because entire 15000-word chapter was on Jalal and Jodha only... and if I do the same, it will be too boring for readers whose reading the entire story in one go. To balance, I added Shivani and Mirza and Political aspect. I feel that was a need for the story.
Almost every single reader commented they enjoyed the political scene and want me to add more scene like that.
Ok, Shivani... I purposely portrait her character differently... I wanted to show her immature and slowly understand what is real love is. She was indeed rude towards Mirza... too abrupt and hasty in taking a decision. I wanted her character to be like that.
Plus... Your complaint about Jalal sleeping with his other begums. He hasn't since they got separated but think about those harem women... They bound to only one man and all the time they to tried trap him by a different way of seduction just to get Jalal's attention. I do not blame those ladies... they also have desire and need. Even though he has not let this seduction work on him just because he loves Jodha. And I am not saying he will not go to any other women in future he might not fulfill his desire but fulfill his duty.
Do you know why lord Krishna was considered himself virgin even though he had 16000+ wives... Because he loved Radha only and desired no one else and they never consume... their love was platonic... But he fulfills his duty towards others. I believe love and sex two different things. In this case, Lord Krishna what he did was "samarpan". I don't know how to define what I am trying to say.
I am so happy U at least enjoyed one scene... I truly like you at least opened up and told the truth... Maybe my reply doesn't convince you but you have given me justify my view on the chapter.
