nice review...and sorry for being late
so here how I felt the episode..
love and trust. in this episode, though there were many faces to both these things, there were certain things hidden behind them, that can't be caught, they can only be felt.
The very basic thing behind the emotion of love in all scenes, was FEAR.
And the very basic thing behind the emotion of trust is EXPECTATION TO UNDERSTAND.
Just as i said earlier these hidden emotions can only be felt and understand to know the emotion of love or trust as the characters present themselves to different relations.
Before i go further with this discussion, once again I ll say Rajat was again the show-stealer , with Pari right behind him with Salima. If anybody would have given less , the scene would have gone down, ruining the beautiful episode.
here one thing was made clear, Trust can be earned by ur sincerity, ur transparency , truth, and good-heartedness. Both Jodha and Jalal r on the way to understand this. Jalal is ahead of Jodha to reach there but then Jodha is to be praised for that. She has earned his trust.
Even she had started trusting him , had this track not happened , then Jalal would have taken same place in her life long back as she has got with him. but that's not problem now, since she is getting to see the real face behind the facade he keeps on. Jodha is abt to unvail that face of Jalal , he is able to hide from the world.
I won't write abt the scenes but abt the characters, the way i felt.
Bakshi : Whether her claim abt loving Shareef is right or wrong, that's not my point. it's why she keeps saying she loves him, whom she wants to convince? to the rest of the world, to Shareef or to herself? and why? If u love somebody so deeply , as u claim, then there is no need to keep repeating it. Others understand it from ur behavior.
I think in case if Bakshi, more than love there is a fear. fear of losing what she has got second time. Fear that she may not be lucky the third time , she let go of the second chance life has given her by marrying shareef. Fear of the fact that if she gives up on Shareef and her fate gives her yet another chance , then she won't again be used against her own family. and finally, fear of losing her own ppl, shareef on one side and Jalal, Jodha, HB on other. and she stands where she really has no choice, coz either way she loses.
Ruku : she is and always will be very complex personality. She is happy that Jalal-Jodha had not been together and so cherishes the moment, only for a sec. Just when she is reminded that Jalal trusts Jodha so much that he can take the blame on himself for her sake, her trust again turns in fear of losing him. again she keeps saying He is only hers. Whom she wants to convince? others or herself? why she wants to satisfy herself in this dreamland, she has created for herself? why, after so many years of staying with Jalal, as his friend, wife and queen , she still can't trust him with the trust that let him go anywhere, finally he will come back to her and her only?
Hamida : Just few days back she was questioning Jodha and now for her Jodha is trustworthy. Many will ask question, abt HB's behaviour as a mother, as MIL and as queen. The thing is the lady is one pure soul, who wants to protect her own by all evils. and so when the evils r from her own, she feels her own integrity is at stake, and she doesn't take it lightly. She loves everybody dearly, be it her own children or be it someone outsider like Jodha. and so one small scar on their name, and HB takes it to her heart. a real pure soul and that's why nobody who trusts in heart can ever go away from HB. Naturally Jodha had become so dear to her. Jalal is not close to her , but whatever HB's relationship is with him, she doesn't want to lose him totally. there is always this fear in her , the way she has lost her husband, the way she has suffered all her life, even her children will suffer. and this fear make her gain or lose her trust in such extreme conditions. I m sure, HB will be the person whom Jalal will turn to when Maham's true face will be revealed.
saleema: a true mentor she is proving to be. previously for Jalal and now for Jodha. The respect she gets from them is earned by her own. The lady proves to be selfless, mature, and balanced than anybody else and so neither Jalal feels shy to tell her the most private thing in his life abt Jodha, nor Jodha feels embarrassed in telling her abt her feelings abt Surya or Jalal. And this trust she has gained, coz both AkDha r well aware that she will always speak truth and be loyal to them and the trust they show in her to give them the right direction, and that too without expecting anything from them.
MA : the true evil who fears from good and pure soul. she cried with Jalal , agreed she has cared for him over years, but that's for her own benefit. what will happen when her true face will come in front of Jalal?
now our two halfs of same coin : our own Jalal and Jodha : Both love eachother. and i think both r aware of that. Just not ready to accept even to themselves. reason : again same. FEAR OF LOSING. For Jalal fear is of her rejection and of losing Jodha forever, while for Jodha fear is of losing her own self. Jodha shows this fear by asking Salima , how anybody can love to such extent that they r ready to lose their own self, their dignity. Jalal gives his love the name of trust while Jodha expresses it as a thanks (respect) for keeping her dignity.
in the scene when he tells her that she should not expect love from him as he can't love anybody, i laughed out like, whom he is telling , Jodha or himself? She hasn't come and asked for ur love then why the need to say it openly? was he telling her his expectations? did he wanted her to understand the real him? why all those explanations to her abt himself or even in Amer when he tells her abt his father's dream? Why Jalal? Is he checking the waters, that if he expresses his love , Jodha will understand and accept or will shy away from him? Is that, he trusts her but doesn't trust himself not to break her heart in future and so is he trying to keep her away by saying he doesn't love her? so what does trust means for Jalal? what is love for him? owning her soul forever? so will he accept his feelings only when he is sure of himself for not hurting her ever again?
And what abt Jodha? the way she claims to love Surya, was it really love or just attraction to a new relationship she had very first time in her life? The way she keeps looking at retreating Jalal while Bakshi is telling her the whole thing, why so much longing in her eyes? what she wanted? that he will tell her the truth? was she upset that he didn't trust her to trust him enough and so asked Bakshi to tell the truth? Why she wanted to know who he really is? why she laughed when he says that he doesn't love her? coz she understands that he too is trying to keep distance just like she is, so that there won't be any rejection from the other or no heartbreaking in future?
actually, for Jodha every emotion, every feeling is to extreme. be it hate, or love. be it sympathy, or understanding, be it duties or respect. she will always do it with full heart. she is not calculated like others.
anyway,let's wait and watch... he is shattered , embarrassed. if only Jodha could touch him and console, he will be lost in her forever. no need to hug him. just hold his face in her hands and comfort him that he is good man at heart. that will be enough for him to come out of this sadness. and only Jodha should do it. Others like Ruku and all, even if they hug him, he won't be able to stand proudly in front of Jodha, till she comforts him. right now what he really needs is not her words , but her soft touch. just her holding hand will also do.
