Well, my dear, I cancelled Colors on Oct 30, as I was sick of Ashoka. But the wretched Tata Sky chaps did not implement it, so I am still stuck with it for at least another month.

So I thought I might as well watch the first episode of Naagin. It looked like a bad version of a Yashraj parivaar meeting Sridevi's Nagina. but I like Mouni Roy and she was there, coughing her way the episode. So I shall watch it at least for this month!

It also goes to show, my dear, that Ekta Kapoor is like the Japanese firms before the great depression struck them. Both provide lifelong employment.

So the wooden chap whose role in Pavitra Rishta was axed after a big leap gets the role of Kunwar Pratap, and the chap who played Bharmal is now cast as Bhairav Nath. He is no Amrish Puri, but who cares!

Hello dear Shyamala, sincerely hope you are coping well after the stopping of your medication .
Another interesting read by you. Your Alternative take on Jodha's dialogues in the section " sudden demise of a glass vase was very entertaining 😆"

I too waited a long time for the script writers to address the issue of Jalal's collection of the glass fragments. Wonder what the point of that futile exercise was... Alas another lost opportunity in this show.

I am sorry I am so irregular here now. Truth be told the JA ship has sailed for me 😕. As I said at the outset, it was too soon for me to start re watching this show. Besides a few episodes during shaadi saptah, I have not watched a single episode.- My apologies to those of you still enjoying the show...this is strictly how I feel personally at the moment

In response to your comments to Saraswathi Aunty/ Akka,: I hope you don't look at the declining comments on your thread as any reflection on you as I think regardless of which point of view we come from, the overwhelming majority of us are huge fans of your writing. There are some dynamite tracks still left in this show and I know the comments are bound to increase with those episodes.

Take care

My dear Preeti,

My steroid pills will be stopped in a week from now. Let me see what happens thereafter, but thanks a lot for your good wishes.

I greatly appreciate, and am grateful fo the affection and warmth shown to me by my readers, whether in 2013 or now. But as for my writing on Jodha Akbar, it is the same as it was 2 years ago, in fact I go into more detail of nuances now. So it is not that I think my posts are sub-par now, but rather that the readership is diminishing, which is entirely understandable for a re--run.

Still the fact remains that my readers only have to read my posts and, if they feel like it, comment on them . I have to write and edit them. The effort it requires is considerable, then there are the comments to be responded to. So, there will come a point at which one feels that the response is not worth the effort.

I am not there yet, but no far off hope of greater response to future tracks, of the kind you have mentioned, is likely to be a consideration in my deciding when to shut up shop. It is not as thought starting this series was my idea. It was not, and I agreed to it only because I could not refuse Mandy's pressing request. I begin to think it was a mistake. It is not without reason that my favourite among those, other than I, who used to do sustained episode analyses in 2013, Vicki (Morons ki Malika), quit in early 2014 and never looked back. She is wiser than I am!

Warm regards.

Shyamala

Good debate on rasigan - There is a MGR - Jayalalitha song.
Ennai theriyuma - Naan pazhaga therinda rasikan - An effervescent MGR dances in front of a charming Jayalalitha - Kannadasan used the word rasigan to the maximum - Or was it vaali ?
It is a good word. I want to be life's rasikai 😃

My dear Devki,

You must be neck-deep in Deepavali celebrations, and would very likely not notice whether I had responded to this one or not, but still, I wanted to acknowledge your comments, with several of which I agree without reservations. Where I have some, they are in italics.

Wishing you and the rest of the family a joyful Deepavali,

Shyamala Aunty

My dear Khalessi,

I did not write them episode-wise because several big scenes were split between 2 consecutive episodes, and then again, I wanted to discard the fluff, since the post was already long enough!😉

Your latest choice of colour is very nice - I had no idea this shade was called aqua green! - and as usual, I agree with all your comments. Especially about how Jodha fails , when it comes to action time, to put into practice her own excellent rules about how to handle the Maham case.

Also about how her grasp of child psychology fails big time when it comes to a crunch. I have discussed Jalal's much superior grasp of child psychology in my next post, in the scene where he coaxes Rahim to tell him the truth about the dibbi.

I am glad that our views on the Bharmal-Jalal scene are identical!

Shyamala

Hi dear.

I'm surprised that you didn't write your analysis in chronological order, but at the same time its good because we can discuss and get focus only in the important stuff.

My comments are in aqua green.
