Have you seen a Coral snake? It is one of the most beautiful creatures on Earth. A gelatinous rainbow of colors. "Ohhh!" you say, "It is so beautiful" Your hand comes close to it, one lightning strike, one bite, one painful yelp and you are ready to meet Yamraaj. It is that deadly.
If you didn't know the history of Maham, you would think that this woman, headdress and all, is a nun. A god fearing and chaste woman. You couldn't be more wrong. This woman is the devil incarnate, with a mind that works overtime to plot the destruction of her enemies. Look at how cleverly she brings the sad fate of Zaheer, to Jalal's attention. The scene was an impeccable bit of acting. Ashwini nailed it.
Jalal is in a rage when he sees the plight of Zaheer. He confronts Bairam Khan. Jalal's anger is reflected by how he invades Bairam's personal space, almost face to face as he says Wazir e Ailiya and not Khan Baba for the first time. His tone is menacing. Bairam Khan tries to wriggle out of the situation but the damage has been done. Strike 1 to Maham.
The other highlight of the episode was that delightful Salim Chisti incident. I have always liked these little encounters and today was no different. Remember that delightful episode later on when he makes that Marium Uz Zamani prediction.
