It has been nice talking to you on the blog. Hope to have more discussions with you in future. 😊

@bold: Agree Radhika, bias in itself is not bad. We wouldn't be humans without it.
However for a researcher it is very important to try and set it aside and put forth the findings as is without coloring it with their own biases. They can give their opinion about what they think the findings may mean (unless the findings are conclusive of course, which sometimes is a challenge when dealing with history)). In such situations I think the way the researcher frames his or her sentences is also very important.
And that is where Abhay and you get brownie points IMO.😊

Hi Ann
You were there much before me, discussing history with Abhay, Kamal and others. And I admired your history knowledge and your style of presentation as much as I admire Abhay's.

I can't even count the number of times you have supported my views eloquently on the forum / blog. 😊 Thank you ever so much!

Miss you a lot 🤗

Devki

Thank you for the high praise :)

Any chronicler, be it of history or contemporary affairs, needs to present facts / findings as read / observed / discovered, without mixing their own views / conclusions / judgement in it.

In our posts, we have always been very clear in separating facts from our own views by stating precisely whether something was read from a historical record or is our own opinion.

Like u so rightly said, history is subjective and free to personal interpretation. Our job, we feel, is only to share our readings with those history aficionados who may find it hard to access Multiple sources or multiple viewpoints about a historical event. We leave it to individuals to draw their own conclusions therafter.

A case in point is the Chittor series. Many readers have been shocked to see the other, darker side of Akbar. Before writing each post in this series, we have pondered a lot whether to share some not so fine details from history. But ultimately, we felt that it was our purpose to present historical evidence as we found it. We were not bound in allegiance to any particular person or dynasty. And so we put forth whatever we found about the war on the blog (the last part is still in the pipeline).

at the same time, there are numerous posts on the blog that talk about the reformist, liberal outlook of Akbar.

So, you see, maintaining a balance is essential. Readers have to see all sides of a person before judging him. And we help in this process by presenting neutral findings of all aspects of a person's character.

I really thank you and all those readers who have appreciated the blog and supported the unbiased writing. There has been no pressure to favor or write against any person / empire on us so far, which is excellent and shows mature thinking. We hope your support will continue in future :).

Thank you for making this heartfelt post, Devki. 👍🏼 😊 👏

I completely agree with each and every word that you have written.

Abhay has educated several readers all over the world. Cannot laud his efforts enough. If not for his blog, I would never have gained in-depth knowledge about several aspects of history. Reading books and manuals is one thing, but sharing the information and knowledge gained, by putting in hours of hard work, clearly reveals his selfless, hard working nature.

Alongside Abhay, Radhika has also made several interesting and informative contributions, to the blog. My sincere heartfelt thanks to both Abhay and Radhika for making history interesting and bringing several details of Mughal, Rajput, Mauryan royalty to the fore.

I wish you good luck, and infinite success with your blog, Abhay. You deserve every bit of it.

Charu,
Thank you. It was a pleasure reading your regular honest takes / views on the blog about the posts. Made me improve a lot. Hope to see you continuing there. :)
