Abhay has had many unkind words said to him on this forum however all through it he has kept his dignity and cool. He unceasesly provided us with fascinating information on Mughal history and supported his claims with historical references. I have learnt so much about Akbar and MUZ from him and for that I will always be grateful. Had it not been for his blog and posts I would have long given up on the bond between Akbar and MUZ for the creatives of this show left no stone unturned to sully the images of two of my favorite characters in history.

Abhay, I have not been very regular on your blog lately and have a lot of catching up to do. But I will not bid you farewell because I know you will continue your journey of discovery on your wonderful blog. I intend to follow it all the way. Cheers! to new beginnings
Warm regards,
Preeti

PS A special shout to Radhika as well whose heartfelt posts provided heart and soul to sometimes dry historical references.

Preeti

@bold: I desisted from saying this bitter fact. It is sad that he was targeted for making historical posts when other members were free to post literally "anything".

@underlined: Exactly! If we believed Ekta and her CVs, then we would think Akbar and MUZ were dumb and had no idea what was happening around them or how to handle any situation. We would think they were just obsessed with (romancing) each other while the Mughal Empire could go take a walk. Abhay has been steady in course correcting the bloopers made by Ekta's team and making us aware of the real aspects of the historic couple.

Thanks for "enjoying" my posts and hope to have some more interesting discussions with you in future. 😊

Radhika, I have interacted with you a bit on the blog and just like Abhay, you too come across as very unbiased in your opinions. That is the most that I like about the two of you.

Devki

Thank you, Devki! Bias in itself is not wrong as long as we don't run down someone to prop up the person / actor / character we like.

It has been nice talking to you on the blog. Hope to have more discussions with you in future. 😊

Devki ,

Such a wonderful post with thoughtful insights of both Abhay and his useful blog 👏👏👏
My view to this blog is , HISTORY Redefined from Boring books to interesting Blog worth Reading who have the quest to know the REAL history 😳

And it has been a eye-opener for many across the world , through his blog ... Wat it would have been , if his posts r not there in IF to open our eyes about the REAL AK& MUZ , i cant even imagine it now 😊 Eventhough bombarded with Q's biased , he was still poised in his stance and made it a point for everyone to RESPECT the REAL JA n PPL who lived in that era in our EYES 👏👏👏

Thanks a lot Abhay & his friends , Radhika for their wonderful threads in both IF n Blog 👏👏 As i have said before , it's becoz of abhay's threads .. I found this forum , and have got many friends n info that would have been impossible to gain , if i had not 😊 Thanks a lot once again Abhay , for the wonderful journey i had in IF this past year 😳

Hi guys,

All of us are sad about Jodha Akbar ending. We wish RT and PS all the best in their lives. Jodha Akbar is a serial that has given me so much joy.

I am embarassed to admit that before JA my knowledge of Akbar did not extend beyond two things:

1)He was called Akbar the Great.
2)Akbar and Birbal.

Because of JA I came across this wonderful site, India Forums and in there I discovered an invaluable treasure in the form of History_geek aka Abhay's history posts.

Abhay and his posts took the experience of JA to a whole another level for me.
His posts were a treasure trove of historical information backed with relevant and appropriate references.

He did not force his opinion on anyone nor did he try to convince us. He just laid out the facts that he had discovered in his research and the readers could draw their own conclusions.

He came across as someone who was very neutral and unbiased. Someone who was solely driven by a quest for knowledge and sharing it. Not for fame and certainly not for money. All this made his posts very genuine, very real, very honest to me.

Abhay, I thank you for all the efforts you have taken in order to bring so much information to us. I admire and respect your passion, your attention to detail and your patience. But for you the JA experience would not have been half as good for me.

I hope you continue on your blog for a long long time to come. I, for one, will most certainly be reading it.

Thank You,

Devki

Hi Devki,

I admit that i am short of words to reply to this post and the other comments made here on this thread, for this genuine and sincere appreciation. I really do not know in what words to reply to all of you. Thank you.

It was an urge to discuss what i read from different sources. The quest was always to know and share more without any expectation of any monetary or other sort of gain. In this process, i also got to know a lot from other members also which included some counter opinions also.

Because of JA only, i also joined this forum. Taking a back gear to 2013, when i joined this forum, before that i used to be a silent reader. Started all alone here & met a few more history enthusiasts who have been reading history and into this field for decades & generations. Their insights were a blessing, as i got to know more through those matured readers, other than those in my own family.

I, in particular, would thank Lizzy and KDR, who shared a lot of information, all of which has been posted on the blog. Later, Ann and Radhika also formed a strong pillars of information dissemination. And, now there are more friends here.

Right now, each one of us can claim to know a lot about Jodha Akbar, etc. but this is a fact that back in 2013 when the show started, that was not the case, i mean the situation was not so rosy. We all have learnt a lot from each other, as far as i think. Slowly, things became more and more clear. It has been a good journey here till now, with bitter as well as sweet moments.

Taking it a compliment from you, if you feel me as unbiased. All i would say is that views get refined as one reads more and more and the process continues forever, and the person is ready to accept those things which are contrary to inherent beliefs. Rest of my opinion is same as Radhika's. Link Here.

The blog will continue, as i am sure, it won't be possible to stop reading history, and in case the reading continues, then won't be able to resist the 'temptation' to write and share. Thank you again.

Thank you very much for these kind words of appreciation. But let me say that i do not deserve all this. There are many factors which moulds the views of a person and the ideas, and you figure a lot in them as i mentioned to Devki above. :)

Since this is nostalgia, and all are remembering the old days, i want to add, I remember the first post you and Lizzy made, and even the page number of the thread and the content you posted. What a boost that post was.! When someone supports your findings with logical and conclusive backing statements, it comes as a great help, especially considering the time - 2 years back when we all were so uncertain about many things.!

Hope to carry forward this journey of discovery we started, on blog, in future also. There are still many things to be posted. 😊

This is the last week of Jodha Akbar. It ends on 7th August 2015. Please do catch the episodes if possible. Though, we are having less of Akbar, but still for sake of nostalgia, for those good times.!

PS : Ofcourse, we will remember ALL the memories. Learnt a lot, for which i will be grateful to this forum. At least, it gave me back many lessons too. :)

@Abhay , you've been my inspiration in many ways than I've ever admitted to you , I've silently followed your posts in JA forum n your absolutely stupendo-fantabulous blog ,for a long time , but seldom have I expressed myself as to my views or my opinions, or joined in the discussion , both because I like to learn by reading other's views n imbibing what is there to imbibe as well as due to absolute lack of time to write comprehensive expressive comments, that are an art to write n I'm as yet struggling to master it.

But, it is time for my confession- that how much I learned from your posts, how much you helped me grow as a person through your posts, as they were often so thought provoking n forced me to contemplate on many points hours after I've shut the lid on my lap top. You're a Gem of a person, your personality has inspired me to understand how a true seeker of knowledge should behave, how humble, patient, over all kind n thirsty for knowledge n wisdom a person can be n more over, be an overall infectious enthusiast in sharing knowledge freely. Your presence took the JA forum experience to an altogether another level for every single member n your blog will continue to be a rendezvous for the seekers of truth n wisdom. You were a boon n blessing for us, here in IF n also outside it. I've not the slightest hesitation to proudly admit today that I'm a fan of yours n I'm grateful to you for gifting us with your presence ,making JA forum a place for learning our great past, great National heroes n heroines our grand legacies ,n overall a lesson of decorum and fellow feeling.👏⭐️

Will follow you wherever you go, just like a Sishya follows her Guru.😳

Great post Devika and a much needed one.👏

Though a little late, I would like to join the list of people expressing their gratitude towards Abhay. His utter dedication and sincerity to the cause was truly remarkable. I wish I could re-pay the debt of enlightenment that I owe to him but sadly can't. I can only thank him and wish him very best for the future 👏👏

His posts made me a regular on the forum and once I started interacting with him, coming on the forum became even more relevant. Who wants to miss his posts and treasure trove of knowledge? I used to wait with bated breath for his threads and bombard him with questions thereafter. All of which he answered patiently 😆 During this Q&A round, I also got to know him personally and realized what a wonderful person he was. He lived near my place and a lot of buddies of mine studied in his alma-mater. We also shared similar views on various subjects. I made a good friend who I wish to in touch with forever.

Through him I made another good friend, Radhika 😊 Another history aficionado, hungry for more knowledge and blessed with amazing writing skills. After Abhay, it was her posts I waited for which helped survive the post-golden period of the soap by giving them a positive tone. My IF experience will be incomplete without her.

Abhay truly is a blessing in disguise for us all. Though I am not able to read his posts here or on the blog more often, I still know they shall be as brilliant as ever. Again, thanks Abhay for enriching the JA experience so much that now it almost hurts to hear about the show shutting down.

PS: Thanks Devki for creating this thread 😊
