@Swara..
Welcome. :)

@Susan..
No need to worry, i don't think Jodha will go against Akbar for the aawaam because the GOAL of both of them is same -> Welfare of People. So, they won't clash, this is the time to support each other. Akbar also insisted we all have to work together. :)

@Cuty..
I too think this is right time for the makers to elevate role of Jodha as Akbar is also shown to be dealing with serious political and administrative issues. High time we get away from Harem Politics.

@Bhavna..
I knew precap will raise some serious concerns about Ruqs, hence i mentioned the interaction looked fine to me. Lets see tomorrow what decision is taken with regard to the "patient".

@Tarunika..
Most welcome. Din e Illahi has to come at the end, i just hope we get a LOT of "action" before that.

@Suganya..
Yup. The acting part was superb today even the scene with Aram Bano.

@Gem..
Thanks. :)
I am quite hopeful. I hope no CV's would attempt self-destruction of the show, especially when they are aiming for revival. :-P

@Diya..
Don't think so. Jalal is still NOT back in NO GOD mode. :-P
He will still challenge the Almighty. Keep watching. I am sure we are going to get a LOONG track.

@Samanika..
Completely agree with your thoughts. Hope you watched at 8 today ?

@Dushi..
Nice to see your sarcasm, after your dhamakedaar "New Promo" posts. I am sure you will find all that about Ruqayya Begum, which you have written in The 20th Wife. {See this Link} :-P

Completely agree . Perfect.!
The mystic experience in Vrindavan happened in 1573, which crosses our timeline of show even if we consider the leap, but the makers can show this as well, as we are in 1570's only, this would be a fantastic event. Construction of minimum 4 temples which were dedicated to Lord Krishna were permitted by Akbar, few years after that time to the Hindu rulers, in Vrindavan. One of the temples was contructed under Raja Man Singh and the architect of temple was the renowned Govindaas. Thanks a lot for reminding this event. :)
And you are right. The timing is perfect for Jodha's elevation now., even if we consider the need to garner TRP's, its high time she is shown as strong in engaging herself in affairs like welfare, business, etc.

@Mehak..
Your theory is quite possible. Jodha might take the welfare of health/women responsibility. BTW, In reality also, She DID get a well constructed for the people. It has been mentioned in Jahangir's memoirs {i can give the references with Page numbers if anyone doubts it :-P } and even contemporary travellers accounts. This part of welfare related activities can not be called NR, if given to MUZ.

@Harshu..
Agree. It's high time, Jodha and Akbar BOTH work like an Emperor and an Empress, enough of husband - wife angle has been shown. Just like Akbar was an Emperor she was ALSO an Empress, and you can read glimpse of one work at least in my reply to Mehak above. And what you are saying is correct. MUZ did have that ship Rahimi, the same ship was used for Haj in 1570's by the Royal Women Folk. It's not wrong to show that angle.

@Sindhu..
I know i am going to get a strong headed Akbar in this track, as he is going to be in conflict with many authorities. Just see. Only Thing i wish is a strong MUZ as well. Not the always crying, pleading, and Kanha bhajan(no offense) singing MUZ. Assign her some responsibilities also.! I want to see a balance in characterization. That too a "sensible" one. I dont want CV's to make her use her farman rights for some non-sensical reasons. Akbar knows what his roles are as an Emperor and i want MUZ also to be shown realizing that she is the Queen of Hindustan and has her responsibilities. I want some Balance. Till now in this track Akbar is acting on his own. Same i want them to depict for MUZ.

@Revathi..
Nice review. I want to say one thing - I have a hunch that we will get some intelligent move by Jodha tomorrow as regards Ruqs. Hope CV's won't show MUZ getting fooled again and again by Ruqs.! From what i saw in precap, both Ruqs and Jodha were right in "their opinions". Ruqs wanted to protect OTHER inmates from spread of disease, but Jodha was also right as a sick person will go in hospital only. :-P Lets wait and watch.

@Nanayaa..
Really beautiful post. Completely balanced, you are right, his wives can be shown as giving their inputs in some activities. I am sure CV's have balanced the roles for them as well.
If anyone missed then, Nanayaa's Posts can be read on Page-3.

Hi Mandy...
A Common candid reply to all your comments in chronological order. :)

I don't know if you watched the episode before making the first comment. No where it was shown that Jodha took any responsibility from Akbar. Instead she was sitting beside Akbar while he was unwell .!

I would mention that Jodha was NOT ONLY a Wife, who sat in harem. She had her business and as you have read a lot i am sure, you might have probably come across incidences "about her travel" outside the harem also. At least i have come across.

Her accomplishments and business are NOT at ALL LESS considering the times she lived in, when women were not given prominence ; and especially her origin. She was not a "native Mughal" but someone who came from outside and carved a niche for herself in Mughal household. I think you will agree it was not so easy for a 16 year old girl to marry someone else who was different from her clan against her wishes and BEING THE FIRST such wife without any acquaintance. At least those who married later had a thought that there are previous Rajvanshi wives in harem, but she was alone at that place as she was the first .!

I won't presume beforehand that Jodha's rise will be Akbar's fall. Let it play out in the show.
BTW, I don't want to go in details, Nur was powerful, but Noor did NOT rule right from day-1 in Salim's Empire ; coins were struck in her name one year before death of MUZ, when Salim and MUZ BOTH were at their end and critically ill.

This ants part is NR, i have been mentioning this in all the updates on episodes. The writer on Twitter is facing wrath of viewers for that nonsense of ants which was unrealistic.

I would never ever compare Akbar with Henry VIII and insult the former. On one hand, Akbar believed in equality on many fronts for both sexes, i gave some examples in above comments, while the latter was no where close to Akbar. BTW, Henry executed 2 wives not because they were more powerful than him ; but because they were charged for adultery and treason ; there was some issue with his clash with the Church also. This is a basic known fact. Not mentioning details as Henry VIII is not part of discussion of JA Forum.

Lastly about the topic of Akbar-MUZ or any other wife. None of us was present here. :-P
What we say is what we read or hear in texts or folkLores. For me, i would not repeat again as i have been repeating the same since 2013 when i joined IF, i have posted enough articles on my blog. There is No single Line, No single page, No single book, No single place from where we can conclusive details.

I have mentioned enough sources on Akbar-MUZ , be its folklores/contemporary texts/travelers accounts ; even taking their scans, BUT I genuinely want to know about the source which says something about any of the other wives, even if it is a folklore about any other wife i will believe it, but at least there should be one.! :)

PS : Akbar did not give any of his Kids to Ruqs though she was childless for over 50 years, though he gave kids to HB and Salima to raise in this same time. What do i think.?. Giving kids was a NORMAL Timurid custom. There are more points. I don't want to prove anything about Ruqs by writing this, but i am just writing this point, as this is also a different face of same coin. I appreciate your opinion but it's good to read the other side also. :))

PPS : About the serial, i would say, it is Dramatized version of events. Hence i leave the REAL people at rest. I was busy in some work and came back to see such an interesting debate/discussion here. So replied. It's 5:30 AM here in Delhi, next day already began.!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. :)))

👏👏 I just love this...

Abhay ,
Thanks for the update and yes it was a good episode.
Well whatever she did ,was done as MuZ ,the wife of Shehenshah of Hindustan.All her good deeds showed how Shehenshah's wife was committed to her role as MuZ and even helped in enhancing the sultanate's image in the eyes of their subjects.
And any broad minded husband whether 16th century or 21st ,will be happy to see his wife using her time productively rather than gossiping ,bitching and in a huge harem like Akbar's even scheming too.
Her tiny efforts can't be compared with immense work done by Akbar .But we don't just want to ignore them ,thats it ...and so we talk about them.A noble personality like Akbar cant be overshadowed by anyone.We all here see the couple as one and not as two different individuals.
I salute Akbar here as it was a huge thing in 16rh century to be such a supportive and encouraging husband .
Am I sounding like a feminist ?Maybe so as 8th march is approaching.😉

Thanks for update.

yesterday episode was good.

liked, Jodha, inner +outer concatvity with Jalal.

She is fighting with her thoughts, & learning from them, & finding a way, How things will be come, smooth manner. ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;its not a easy job.

Atleast she finds a way, between tough circumstances. if she places a Top place in History, or Akbar life, ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;which she did, or which she beared, but her energy focused, only for what can she do, betterment, for Agra or Awam even for her husband. she not wasted her Energy, sitting & planning Cheap creations.

When front person tries to down you, again again, not easy to survive, But if she or he is surviving, how much he or she doing work in tough situations. because he or she not knows, cheap will which day pull their Leg.

Where is other begums, 😆, is Jalal is only husband of Jodha ? so responsibilty giving is a easy thing. But handling situations is a big or tough job.or jodha is doing that.👏 👏

so she deserves that place.

lets see, Now HM, Or sharrif knows MS truth, MS knows there Truth, so Lets see CV kee pitare me Kya Kya hee.

If CV shows jodha some secene, when jalal was in coma, feeling comes more interesting.

Anar vibes connecting with Salim. but MB vibes sleeping.😆

abhay thank you for your candid reply as i am always up for sensible discussions!..first of all i have not watched the epi yet but responded as per WUs and various comments, none of my networks are working and i probably will not be able to watch it plus just like you i am busy as hell!..lets begin one at a time..first of all i did not mention ruk and neither wanted to bring her up its just one comment out of the blue mentioned my old post which i kinda remember..i must say my posts are popular..people remember😆..anyway my main point is that i feel sad when it comes to Akbar, the whole credit goes to his hindu begum for his greatness whereas the reality is something else and when it comes to indian rulers such as ashoka or MP the credit is all theirs and their wives are only their love interests even though they might have contributed more than is required..and here muz might have been powerful but akbar was akbar,,in fact he sometimes did not even listen to his 9 gems..he only did what he thought was right and was not led by anyone like a baby..he had a brain of his own and we should not take the credits from him for what he did and this is more to do with NRs and the way the serial is going..well abhay no qualms just a sad feeling when i hear and read some biased views about a muslim ruler..nothing else!

btw one note from Smith's book regarding spirituality..Akbar was influenced by a true sufi saint and because of him he renounced hunting and prohibited animal killing, that saint killed hinself to starvation at the end..which means giving oneself to god when they feel the time is near and he had his hunger for learning the relation between god and man from early age..as per Smith had he not been an emperor he would have been a religion maniac..and that is how his hunger for discussions on various religions started..! but as per NRs and cvz the whole credit will go to jodha as this is a drama and this way it will look more dramatic..but then where is the reality?..anyway, that is how historical goes 95% NRs and only 5% facts..but in the beginning the serial went word for word as per Smith's explanation about early years of akbar and that is why the narration was impactful!

Abhay, I am curious to know how Jodha has been credited for what ever Akbar has done. The mirchi war, Akbar said it was partly won not fully because of his begums fighting. Here they were shown to protect themselves.

AKbar said he changed for better because of Jodha. Does this not happen in every family after marriage. Both husband and wife change for better.

AKbar sending Salim away was his decision, he did not even listen to Jodha. Also he is not shown as a baby listening to his 9 gems, there are many occasions where he took decisions on his own.

The jaziya Tax, Akbar appreciated Jodha for some suggestions but he did not say she did it all. In fact Jodha complimented both AKbar and Birbal. It was clearly said Akbar implemented it.

So far Jodha has been shown to be so dumb and at receiving end of Rukaiya. She was shown fiery initially, post leap its only singing Loris, torn between Salim and Akbar, being ignorant to all plots by Rukaiya.

May be I am watching a totally different serial as I am yet to see what credits Jodha took of AKbar...

Also this GOd track, no where it is said or pointed that it is Jodha going to do it all or going to be credited. Its ridiculous to be speculating about something that has not happened yet. By helping Poor , sick people how on earth is Jodha going to be credited of what AKbar did. AKbar also has fed poor people, helped poor people. It was shown. So showing what AKbar does is Okay, but nothing of Jodhas should be mentioned. Why would that be? Also how can helping poor/sick people be called Nari Shakthi or stealing credits of Akbar

This Serial is About Jodha and Akbar and not AKBAR THE GREAT Emperor. So footage has to be given to both equally. People are watching this only for Jodha and AKbar and not Just AKbar.

Even the MUZ title given, it was nothing. It was shown that Ruks drawing a portrait of Jodha with Salim.

In fact after 2 months of AKbar being sick nothing was resolved and Akbar seemed to be worried for his awaam and is trying to resolve it and he is being helped by his 9 gems and Salim. So far here Jodha was shown to be taking care of Akbar...

Of course Akbar is one among the greatest emperors, I have great respect for him, but i dont think he was a SUPERMAN to be doing it all by himself. As u said we need to Look at both sides of the coin and not just focus on one side.
