Akbar's genuine love and friendship for Birbal is attested by two incidents. Akbar was very fond of chowgan (modern day polo). During one such game, Birbal fell off his horse and was knocked unconscious. Akbar got down from his own horse and personally brought Birbal back to consciousness.

Another time, when Akbar was watching the fight between two wild elephants, one of the elephants went to attack a servant standing nearby. Halfway, the elephant changed his mind and ran after Birbal. He was about to strike Birbal when Akbar with the intention of saving his friend brought his own horse between the elephant and Birbal. The spectators were aghast and a cry went into the air. The elephant stood still overcome by the majestic courage. Akbar's uncommon venture was a great feat and there could be no greater test of his sincerity, love and friendship for Birbal.

They might show these two incidents but with a twist.
1. During the chowgan match of which Jodha begum will be a spectator, will start a big bhaashan on the need for Akbar to save his friend, on the virtues of mitrata, the pavitra sambandh that it is and use forward psychology, reverse psychology, sideways psychology on Akbar who till then will be standing like a blinking idiot, and then obey her with floods of tears and then thank her on his knees.
2. When the elephant is about to strike Birbal, Akbar would be still eyeing his Jodha Begum who will be seated perpendicular to the birbal-elephant duo. A bee will sting her eyes and Akbar will get into a rage as he cannot see aansoo in her eyes and will rush to kill the bee on his horse and in the process will bring his horse in between. When the spectators get aghast, Jodha Begum will sing a song to tame the elephant, a song that was taught by her dadisa in Amer. Everyone will praise her hunars and weep in joy for having her a part of Mughal Khaandaan.

And this is what makes our JA sub-standard these days, trps notwithstanding. Many of us who are still addicted to the memories of the first 100 episodes, continue to watch it only out of habit. Confused I never thought that the entry of Birbal would hardly excite me.Confused

Khushi ... u imp... 🤣 Oh yes they may or may not be from history, notwithstanding that both have been recorded by Akbar's own historians 🤣

Shyamala, these days I give names of books, authors, translators, Volume numbers, chapter nos and page nos as proof 🤣 🤣 🤣

Oh and btw the advent of Salim has been announced gals - I shd have made that bet Khushi I would have won the bloody jackpot 🤣 🤣 🤣

And those who want to understand the representational / symbolic aspect of the Akbar - Birbal stories do read C. M. Naim's study on this.

I can only see one reason for rushing in of Salim
The inability of BT to project the Chittore war from Akbar's pov. Fear of attack from Senas.🤔
When the enemity is projected from MP's pov, it is absolutely jaayaz to show Akbar like a monster. But from Akbar's pov, to praise his emphatic win is blasphemous perhaps according to the ph and trp janta as well. Also they can't give Jodha begum credits for the win.😡

No Sandhya...projecting any war in the correct way has been the least of BT'S concerns...

I maintain my stance that EK will show SA due to inability of showing JA romance ...Romance is an effective, inexpensive n sure shot crowd puller...😃

Birbal ji. ...padharo...so that SA can padharofy. ..😆
