The inability of BT to project the Chittore war from Akbar's pov. Fear of attack from Senas.🤔
When the enemity is projected from MP's pov, it is absolutely jaayaz to show Akbar like a monster. But from Akbar's pov, to praise his emphatic win is blasphemous perhaps according to the ph and trp janta as well. Also they can't give Jodha begum credits for the win.😡

Btw Sands did u read the pm that I had sent with a link to the chittore war interpretation of Muni Lal???

Sorry to be blunt but this argument is ridiculous to me. Ekta is not following history, she is being inspired by it(I am in a generous mood today). She will include whatever historical events she wants to show, exclude whatever events she does not want to show and invent incidents that have no bearing with history.

Ekta, can do all this and no one in his right mind is going to protest. If someone asks why didn't you show brutal side of Akbar at Chittor. Ekta's answer will be, I have already shown the savage side of his personality in the beginning of the serial. If Ekta wants, she does not need to show a single battle in Akbar's active career and there will not be a peep from anybody. Of course that will lower the quality of the show, so a fine balance between the two is needed.

I have not seen a single historical serial which slavishly follows facts from history. Our serial still has some resemblance to history, in another serial running on SONY at the moment, Akbar has already been defeated numerous times.

There may be leap or not, but not for the Chittor case.

This post does not discuss history - it gives the reason why Salim will happen soon.

Don't remind me of that show that I used to see the closing moments of, when I used to watch Yudh. It is blasphemous and too staged...even the last few minutes were a torture.
Here what I meant is that if there is no leap, Ekta cannot ignore Chittore. It is too big an incident in Akbar's life to be ignored. It would be like omitting Birbal.
But if it is shown and even if Akbar's brutality is toned down, MP has to be discussed in unfavourable terms by the Mughals which is a risk that EK would not want to take. It is an open secret that her Jai Jodha Sangraam itself is a result of her obsession with heroine mahaanta and the wish to please Senas.(That is why we have the R word used profusely in a celebrated way)

I think you are giving too much importance to this incident. In which history book about Akbar is this incident discussed. Most people don't even know about it. In most histories, this incident is barely mentioned and if it is, it is part of the account of a long series of battles, in which the incident itself is lost in the details.

I myself has no idea of the Chittor incident before the movie Jodha Akbar and what I learned, I did not learn from any historical records about Akbar, but from the rantings of fundamentalists protesting about the movie. Even there, it was a non issue, only the name Jodha mattered to the protesters.

Ekta can easily exclude it.

Even Central Government authorised school history text books discuss the war in detail. If there is a chapter on Akbar, the war is described under his military conquests.

Ok guys...so how will Birbal's entry be in the show???
Will it be like the film??

Emperor Akbar loved to go hunting. On one such trip, he came across a young man named Mahesh Das. In the meeting that occurred, the Emperor was extremely impressed by the wit of Mahesh Das. The Emperor gave Mahesh Das his ring and asked him to come and visit him in his palace at any time.

A few years later Mahesh Das decided to try his luck in the city and to take the emperor up on his offer. He reached the city of Agra where Emperor Akbar had his fort on the banks of the Yamuna River. At the gate of the fort he was greeted by the guards. He told them that he had come to visit with the emperor. The guards looked at him in disdain (since he was not very well dressed) and asked him why they should let him in. He showed them the ring that was given to him by the emperor as proof. One of the guards realized that this individual obviously was of importance to the emperor and gave him permission to enter, based on one condition:the young man would share half of what he received from the emperor with the guard.

Mahesh Das promised to do so and was given access into the court of Emperor Akbar. He bowed to the emperor as he went in and showed him the ring. The reputedly benevelont Emperor Akbar recognized the ring and the young man and immediately offered him anything he wanted. The young man thought a while, and asked the emperor for fifty lashes of the whip. The emperor was amazed but he knew that Mahesh Das was a very astute young man and asked him for his reason for his wish. Mahesh Das revealed to the emperor that deal that he had made with the guard outside the fort. The emperor was thoroughly amused and angry at the same time. He awarded the fifty lashes to the guard for his impertinence and his habit of bullying people. 😆

This scene from the film is there on the net, but was edited in the final version...😃
