Wonderful post...I am glad that the quality of episodes this week was good. Can't wait to catch up. 😊
I understand that Maham's crimes are unpardonable. It was frustrating to watch her get away with murders because JJ were either blind or too kind. But, I'll repeat what I texted last week...rules of punishment change when a person is on their deathbed. It is unethical to mistreat or be negligent towards a dying person. Everyone deserves a death with dignity. It is not our place to punish them anymore. And I am glad that JJ are sticking to their ethics and not being vindictive towards a grieving, suffering, elderly, slowly dying woman.

Maddy, yesterday's episode had nothing to do with Jodha, Jalal & Maham. It was only about a misfortune mother, vulnerable son & and empathetic daughter in law.
Maham as a mother of 2 sons, cared more for one initially and to compensate the negligence shown towards the other. later she let loose his hands and let him dream something beyond his reach. However her love for both made her think, if one can reach the sky, why not help the other to climb the mountain peek and end up hurting both. Neither she could justify her love for Adham by getting him a audha nor she could prove her selfless love by punishing Adham when he aimed to harm Jalal. She was in a conflict on whom to support and she would have thought Jalal's power and province is so vast and it will not even be felt if he was part with one of his Suba and Adham will be happy with that. She thought it was a like "if we take away a mug of water from the sea, it will not be felt but if she deprived the thirsty person of that one mug of water, he may die. It was this simple logic of Maham brought her to her current state. She never realized sea water is not for drinking and the one who try to drink that will end of puking and sick.
Jalal could not fathom the truth that his mother & brother betrayed him and when he punished his brother for his wrong deeds, his mother, the one who taught him to act sternly, ruthlessly and not to spare the culprit infact went against him for punishing the criminal and gave him the curse to face the agony of facing the death of his unborn kids. He was in the conflict between a dotting son & a loving father. Neither he could deny the fact he loves his Badi ammi and at the same time he could not forget that she was the one who wished the death befall on his yet to born kids. He was weighing both, a sons love for his mother and a father's love for his children and the weighing scale was not at all stabilizing to show which side weighs more.
Jodha as a to be mother can understand the pain of a father on how it feels to think about the death od his own kids. At the same time she as a daughter knew how much it matters for a child to be with his mother at her last stage and shower her love and affection for all that she did by sacrificing her whole life. She knows the pain of staying way from mother as she had gone through that phase during MC track and when her mother refused to take her home. If that could make her weak to think about suicide, how much it may pain Jalal to stay away from his mother whom he thought was more than god. As a to be mother she could realize the pain of Maham as she felt it when she heard Maham's curse and when Ruqu asked for one of her child. Here she wants to help both mother and son but both were rigid in their own ways. So she was finding it difficult to even think of uniting them one last time before it is too late to even think.
The mother gave the option like she gave a challenge to her DIL who was always ready to accept challenge. So here she says if you can, if you really think of doing something good for me, try to get me my son back, remember I want to meet my son, not your husband or the king. The son was still sulking within him as he could not think of a way to reconcile with his mother as her curse is not just affecting him alone (had it been only him she had cursed, he would have not cared for that and would have gone to her without much apprehension but her curse was tyo his kids which will affect his whole family and sultanate. As a father, as a husband and as a Shehenshah, he could not let go of his mother's curse and think of meeting her again. So he was trying too hard to not to think about her.
Here came the lady of the house who always vouched for harmony among the family, she knew, if he miss this opportunity, never he will be able to meet his mother and come out of his guilt to deprive her of her kids. Never he will be happy for not meeting his mother before her end and for not talking to her some consoling words before she closes her eyes for ever. She knew very well that nothing she said logically (in favour of his mother) will affect his mind than she bad mouthing her or trying to be happy for her Exit. That is what she did with him. Sheknew how much he rejoice the thought that his badi ammi loves him so much that she has not even parted with his old clothes and toys. So she just marched to Maham's room and sent words for his as well and told the servants to clean the room thouroughly as Maham will not return beck to this room nor she will live more than 2 days which took him off guarded and he had to blink back his tears and enquire in such a feeble voice "is she really dying in 2 days?' Jodha was rekindling his love for Maham by berating her in front of him only to have the necessary outcome, that is him meeting his mother before she ride her horse to the heavenly abode.
I was really so happy for Maham in the precap that she was so, so happy to see her son behind her bahu while bahu was not aware of her husband's presence as she was preoccupied with her thoughts about not been able to make the mother meet her son.
The gleam in Maham's eyes was fab that I had tears running over my eyes without my knowledge.
