Mansi, sorry I could not read the post during weekend though I was too tempted. As my daughter is back fro holidays, she is demanding all my time and any failure has to be faced with her pouted face saying 'I have come for the holidays after 6 months and even now, you want to engross yourself in the internet. Please mom spare some time for me' and she feels she is doing me a favor by allowing me to watch the episode.😆
Jalal knew very well that unless he challenges her, Jodha will not pick up the sword on her own and try to defend herself, if the necessity arises. He was not worried that he can't save her from the enemies, but he could never take chance when it comes to his wife's safety.
Though Jalal was impulsive when it comes to relations, he was very calculative when he has to face the enemies. He was a very strategic fighter and make is moves with at most accuracy on how to & when to attack the enemies. That is what they showed when he waited for the enemies troop to move out to retrieve his Kanjar even though he knew he had one in his waistband. If he had tried to retrieve that while the whole lot of enemy soldiers were around, he was in danger of risking not only his life but also of his wife who is an innocent soul who had come to pray for his child's welfare. Even after he got himself out of the net, he didn't ask her to come our not she took that chance as even she had gauged the situation and knew if she got down, instead of helping him, he might stumble on her safety and face deadly blows from the enemies. So she stay put where she was and only took the dive when he tried to cut the net to release her from the trap. So good for her training back at Amer and a special mention of Sujamal for training her on all the situations she might face and how to act accordingly.
Later Jalal knew the enemies are not far away and they have to face them again and he also knew since they are in large number, there were chances he might be pushed to a corner and covered by the enemies and Jodha might be left unguarded. He also knew how Jodha reacts in certain situations and as a lady who respects her husband, she may not try to outsmart her husband by defending herself (it would have been termed as disgrace to her husband by calling him as what sort of Shehenshah Jalal was as he could not save his wife from the enemies and she had to defend herself), so she would have stayed unharmed even if she was surrounded by enemies unless it warrants on Jalal's life. She would have picked up the sword to save her husband but not herself. So he thought it would be better to challenge her than ask her to defend herself if time arises, so that the impulsive Jodha will accept the challenge and he need not have to worry on her safety or his safety, if the time comes. Moreover, he had seen her skills while practicing and also he had seen her skills on archery when she had fired multiple arrows towards an moving boat and her attack was so perfect that they reached the target and served the purpose. He had seen the sword fighting of Sujamal and also knew Jodha had been the student of Sujamal and hence there was no need for him to doubt on her capability, and also he had seen her bravery while she put the sword so swiftly at his neck when she doubted him as an enemy while he was visiting Abdul in Amer prison. Added to that he wanted to give her some position which she deserves and what best it will be than to honor her for her bravery in defending herself on the time of crisis and also helping her husband in fighting the enemies?
It was worth watching Ruqu's face when he told her that he will ensure that Jodha accompany him on all his tours and travels, be it war or peace. It was nice to see that the well known proverb " Man proposes and God disposes or What you sow is what you reap" has proved in case of Ruqu. She tried hard to avoid Jodha and Jalal's meeting s and the more she tries, the more they are coming close. Had she not planned her evil plan in bringing in her fake pregnancy to separate Jodha from Jalal, atleast she would not have faced the increased frequency in their meeting. Now with Jodha being occupied with Ruqu's welfare, Jalal is more frequenting on the pretext of to check on Ruqu's health and some times to have some private words with jodha. If not for the Fake Baby, Jodha would not have kept a pooja where both Husband and wife are required to complete the Havan and there by being blessed by the priest. If not for this Pooja, they would not have got trapped and Jalal would not have witnessed Jodha's deadly skills with sword and how wretched she becomes while facing enemies and how ruthless she was while killing the enemy, that she was the same Jodha who had removed the bullets from the gun while Jalal wanted to go hunting, just to save the innocent lives of animals. She was the same one who just removed the snake from Jalal's bed and left it unharmed despite it being filled with Venom. How else he would have seen her raged state when it comes to her husbands safety. There also she didn't stepped in to the fighting to defend herself but to defend her husband who was about to be attacked from backside by an enemy. (do we get to know that the backstabber of his brothers was not Sujamal but one of this Mughal sipoyee anytime soon?) Just see result of her (Ruqu's) jealous, now Jalal has openly declared that Jodha will accompany him wherever he goes and whenever he goes./ Who will say no to it when thye have heard about Jodha's warfare skills? that too from the 2 great warriors Jalal & Atgah?
We need to appreciate Maham for instantly realizing that that attacker could be none other than her son Adham Khan. We need to applauded to her sharp mind in analyzing the situation. It was such an ill fate of Jalal that she stood against him, otherwise she would have been the best strategist in Mughal empire.
