This is real fun, high octane action _ I would have loved to see the boy's derring do with the Afghans onscreen! - drama, and a mystery at the heart of it all. The boy and the girl are utterly natural, not like miniature adults, and I found that most refreshing.
As for the lawaris taunts by the village children, now that is par for the course. It is of course unkind and spiteful of their parents to say things like this about the boy's mother, but children can, on their own, be very cruel, like the ragging by bullies in schools. I am so glad the boy is remarkably tough and resourceful, and can look after himself, and others, in a crisis.
All in all, a most enjoyable ride so far, and I am sure it will only get better as you proceed.
