Not really Lavanya.. Jalal has ALWAYS been a multidimensional grey shaded character (the shades of his grey swinging from light grey to dark charcoal)... he is a Baazigar... his decision and reaction with every track is perplexing and we're left wondering which when why how and what! He is a Mughal version of Lord Krishna - good to his well wishers and cruel to those who've spurned him...Originally posted by: realitybites
Well there is no answer in the story but fault lies with the Script writers for the glaring inconsistencies or blunders. Perhaps they never thought that the show will become popular and people would reason things. You can see the gradual progression of Jalal being shown from the cruel, arrogant and unkind to the caring, understanding and considerate. His transformation is so clearly laid out right from starting episodes to suicide track to the Benz track which lead to the culmination of his love for Jodha. Also the SWs have given Jalal the most interesting dialogues, you will remember most of them. 😳 . His character invites sympathy.Unfortunately the SWs did not show a similar transformation for Jodha and her characterization is still perplexing. It takes extreme forms. You hardly see any change since the beginning till now. It takes swings as per the track. That is why her character invites strong criticism. The emphasis on her hunars is mocked here the most. Her character comes across as flat. The SWs never gave Jodha any interesting dialogues that you would recollect. The current track will probably show transformation in Jodha, if you recollect yesterday Jodha said "hum swayam ko badalna chahte hai". And today she herself went to speak to Jalal not asking or demanding something but to share about her decision.I am still hopeful that the SWs will work on character of Jodha and show a similar growth for her and make her character as interesting as Jalal.
