First, I want to thank everyone for making yesterday's Take 5 one of the most memorable threads I have ever started. 😊To my frustration, Internet issues marred my ability to respond to the posts that I simply loved. I tried to respond to as many as I could.
Second, I want to congratulate all of us for making it to 200 episodes. While the 200th episode itself was not thrilling, I am extremely thrilled to see a trusting Jalal who is hurt that Jodha is not ready to tell him the truth and a Jodha pained to see Jalal in pain and worried for his life. That is progress from the days of ghrina, revenge, nafrat, and badla. 👏
And this progress was made despite the conspiracies of Maham Anga and Ruqs' taunts and schemes. Then, who in actuality has won?
And with that take, I am going to do my take 5 for today's episode ... Celebrate how far our show and our leads have progressed over these 200 episodes:
(1) Jalal's disappointment and anger in seeing Jodha step down as Harem ward: When Jalal first brought Jodha to Agra, he wanted her to be in a cage in one corner of the harem. Who would have imagined there was a day that Jalal would want to see her as the head of the harem? That is hope and expectations for her. And he wanted her to do a lot more than abolishment of slavery. That was clear when she told her that now everything is fine in the harem, he said that was not the case. He knew that she had the potential to continue to be a good harem ward. His displeasure was not out of hate, revenge, or a MU, it was purely disappointment as he does not realize why his Jodha Begum is not reaching her full potential and feels helpless.
(2) Jodha perceiving that all is not right between them: How we always wanted Jodha to be perceptive of Jalal and her relationship with him. I love how she came and said that all is not well and he had not come to ask her yet. That was progress- she knows he is upset of her leaving the post and wants to explain herself. The old Jodha- she would not care what Jalal thought of anything she did. Now she not only perceives how he feels but also wants to address any issues.
All I would say is this was the conversation that I felt she should have had with Jalal BEFORE leaving the post- why did it not occur to her that he would want to know why she was leaving? If she meant to tell him why she was leaving ... I wish she had
Now, why wasn't Jodha equally perceptive in getting his hints that he knows she is hiding something from him? That is the CVs dragging the track!
(3) Jalal request to Jodha to tell the truth: My heart went out to both Jalal and Jodha in this scene. Jalal asked her that I wish you would try telling the truth. There was so much pain in the statement. It is so clear that he is not doubting Jodha but is bothered by why she is hiding the truth from him and why she has not earned her trust. Jodha looked equally pained by this statement and is feeling the guilt of what she is hiding from Jalal. It was a poignant moment where Jalal and Jodha were feeling pain for each other ... Earlier they felt joy in giving pain to each other. This is the amazing journey our leads have taken over 200 episodes.
(4) MA came to Jalal, Jalal did not go to MA: In prior days, Jalal would go to Maham Anga for help and advice. Now he goes to Hamida Bano and Atgah Khan. His instincts and heart are pulling him towards the right people now. Maham Anga has to come to meet him to increase the seeds of doubt in Jalal.
And honorable mention, Jalal has his intelligence back in full force for his Jodha Begum- he guessed it could be Sujamal! And, I don't think he was entirely convinced when Maham Anga said it wasn't.
(5) Jalal still trusts Jodha and his heart is still winning: Maham Anga mentioned that there is a battle going on between his heart and mind regarding Jodha Begum. In the past, Jalal's mind would always win. Here, his heart continues to win out. He has seen Jodha with another man multiple times, Maham Anga has told him about a letter, Jodha is withdrawing from her responsibilities, so many signs to make him doubt her but his heart continues to win. He still trusts her and wonders why she is hiding something and worried for her security. I cannot imagine how anyone can believe Jalal does not trust Jodha. He is not hurt out of distrust but he feels lonely that his Jodha Begum does not trust him as much as he trusts her. And that is the most beautiful progress over 200 episodes.
Today, I am not worried about the future. I think in the last scene Jalal sees Jodha with Rahim or something which calms him down. Yesterday's precap turned out to be a joke ... And there was a furor in the forum on insults. The editing is very weird on the precap for Monday that I don't know who is looking at who.
On the new spoiler on Jalal misunderstanding and sending her out and Jodha going to the jungle, I will see it to believe it. I can imagine another version of how this spoiler may be true where out of frustration Jalal asks her to tell him the truth and Jodha is unable to answer. He may in pain say if you don't want to stay in Agra you are free. Jodha in anguish and unclear how to deal with the situation may set out to find some peace outside the palace. Jalal is worried to see her missing and goes to find her. They find each other, opens their hearts out, and then you know what. How many times has Ekta Kapoor done this track, I have lost count! 😆
Hence, enjoy your weekends. Our Jodha-Jalal have made progress, will continue to make progress, no matter what speed breakers may come to make sure this serial reaches the 1000th episode.
