Hi , Adiana. Wonderful post. U r very correct in pointing out how Jalal & Jodha have evolved from their premarriage days to the current scenario. Jalal, being an acutely perceptive man saw for himself the goodness & honesty in Jodha & his intense attraction for her at first sight turned into love as he watched each of her acts of kindness & bravery.

Jodha, who came with a lot of prejudices about Jalal, some valid & true & most others she herself came to see were very wrong. During her period of evolution , Jalal did display a lot of patience, understanding & maturity to handle her ghrina. All his waiting bore fruit & Jodha s finally on the way to understanding Jalal & his virtues & is falling in love with him too.

Both these persons evolved after watching the other s behaviour , & Jodha with some nudges here & there by Salima & Moti, but mostly she understood Jalal by herself.

Coming to Ruq s case, am in two minds actually as to what s to be done. We ve seen a Ruq who s basically good at heart, but otherwise too proud & full of her power & position & generally displays bad behaviour with other begums & quite mean to the baandhis. All this while she s been indulged & pampered mostly by Jalal & that added to her pride. Am not blaming Jalal here, but he was very indulgent to Ruq & mostly left her a free rein with everything. And also he s given her primary importance in the harem till now & reiterated it time & again that she s special to him. This might have added to her unreasonable belief that she can do anything & get away with it.

Of course, since the Tasneem track , Jalal has been telling her of a changed equation now , especially with regard to his relation with Jodha. He has been giving mild & not so mild hints & some strong words too about her bad behaviour , especially recently in the hojra issue & the boat ride. But Ruq s insecurities has been blinding her to these warnings not to forget the constant instigation by MA. In this last election event, Jalal made a strong & very angry final sort of warning to mend her behaviour. I dunno if those words penetrated Ruq s mind or she s still choosing to act blind & deaf.

A tiny part of me does feel that Jalal can have one more talk about her behaviour , bcos some need that extra effort, & after all , Ruq is his cousin cum friend cum first wife. If he could display so much patience to withstand Jodha s bad behaviour & wait for her to come around, maybe he could do a little more for his BF also. Maybe it s unfair to expect this from Jalal, seeing that Ruq is an intelligent adult & knows what s right & wrong, but not all humans r the same na. What works for one may not be right for the other. But as I said , am in two minds as to whether Jalal has to go the extra length to make Ruq understand. And if After that effort also, she still digs herself into a grave, then the whole fault is on her. But on the other hand, even if Jalal tries to talk to her, she might still persist & sink into a low pit, but atleast Jalal would have done the right for his friend.

That s my POV for Ruq, a view that s as confusing as Ruq s behaviour itself is currently 😉 😆

Hi friends, gr8 additions to yesterday. Sandhya I understand what you want to see and Gayatri, well taken.

Let me now share some of the instances from the past epis -

In the 118th epi, TE tells Ruqs that though she is his oldest friend and will always have a special place, Jodha too has forged a bond of friendship with him. And he explains, that unlike the case of one scabbard not containing 2 swords, Life has the potential for conciliations, where one can see two banks going side by side with the river - beautiful analogy I would say where TE is the river with Ruqs and Jodha as the two banks that go in the same direction as the river along with it. This was TE's first explicit statement to Ruqs that Jodha is a part of my life and hence yours too and dont look upon her as an competitor and usurper, but as one who will walk with us.

In the 128th epi, TE tells Ruqs (after the Tasneem kissa during the tel maalish scene) that like him, Ruqs too is a victim of 'Galat fehmi' with regard to Jodha. As he explains to her of how Jodha tried to save their marriage he says something very interesting - he says 'if you feel you have committed a mistake then take my advice and talk it out with Jodha.I do believe that all will be well' - This is an indication of how TE is changing and the kind of behaviour that he shows and expects.

In the 152nd episode, after the Shivani escapade, when Ruqs rants at TE about Jodha and how he is loosing his perspective, once again he shows that he believes Jodha and gives Ruqs the proof - this was the point where he says that he is believeing her not based on any airy fairy notion but on evidence and indirectly pointing to Ruqs that it is not he who is being blind but she who is blinded by her jealousy.

In the 163rd epi, the hojra issue, TE has very clearly and directly told Ruqs that her behaviour is bringing her down and he does not want to see his 'Friend and BEK' to fall from grace and hence will not let her commit such folly - This was a direct warning from TE to Ruqs to maintain her dignity - I dont think he could have been more explicit.

To my thinking TE has been explicit with Ruqs and as he said after his birthday - he has always maintained integrity in his relations and till then other than friendships he had no closer relationships which he maintained with all honesty.

Thanks for reminding about all these instances, Adiana. I do remember most of these, but how do u fight with the green eyed monster, tell me, guess Ruq will undergo a zor ka jatka before she comes back to her senses, hopefully. And I did say I was in 2 minds about whether Jalal should talk with this wilfully blind Ruq 😉 😆

I knw Gayatri and this exactly the reason that he is not sitting her down for that chat as I had mentioned!!! It is not just Jodha for who he fears, he also fears for Ruqs!!!

See adi you are able to count the instances where he has tried to accommodate ruqs insecurities.

But can you count the number of times he has tried to accommodate jodha's bad behavior to him and been patient with her and tried to make her understand that he is not as bad as she thinks he was. You can't.

This is the essence of what I am trying to say. When a sensitive and smart jo needed so much effort a proud silly ruqs needs more.

However arrogant ruqs is however spiteful to jo, her loyalty to jalal can't be questioned. As someone who values loyalty I expected a little more from jalal.

Sandhya, Ruqs has been with him for over 10 years and in her own words - 'jab noor maanga toh aftaab la kar diya' - this was the way he treated her, that is kind kind of friend and husband he has been to her - while Jodha has been with him less than 1 year - If he then takes that extra effort to make Jodha understand him better I dont think he is wrong becoz he has done so much more for Ruqs and is still doing so. And even as he was doing that extra bit for Jodha, did he reduce his equation with Ruqs?

Jalal probably doesn't need to but if Ruq takes another major swipe at Jodha, then they will definitely have The Talk.

But as far as I can see, The Talk would be fruitless. For The Talk to work, Ruq first needs to accept that she is deeply disturbed by the importance and love being given to Jodha. She has to stop lying to herself and Jalal. She needs to open her eyes first. How can you possibly mend something if the person believes it has not been broken??

Her waltzing into Jalal's hojra on friday showed that despite her disgusting act and Jalal's outburst at it, she thinks everything is perfect. Didn't even think an apology was needed.

No matter how many cooling sherbets Jalal passes her, she will become hyper and agitated during The Talk. Will refuse, refuse, refuse and refuse to understand. May also get violent. And will start her reply with 'sirf hum', 'ek hum hi toh' etc. The only thing she will process from The Talk is that Jalal has started loving Jodha. And this in will turn Ruq more vindictive towards Jo.

Since this adds more drama to the story, I think The Talk will surely happen.

Yes The Talk will happen after a stage is reached when it has no use. When enough cleft has occurred that no talk can reach over.

There is a difference in treating a sickness initially and when it has intensified. The same treatment that is effective in initial stages doesn't work in advanced stages.

Adi I have said this before and I repeat it. I don't think or feel that Ruqaiya is a deserving candidate. But jalal will shine better if he tries to correct his friend as he did with his love.

Sandhya, if u want our Jallu to shine , give him his chamkila birthday costume 😉 , that s the only way he can shine from now on 🤣
