And there is one very interesting fact - Akbar abolished the toll tax for the non-muslims for visiting their religious shrines in 1563 which would be possible only after MA and AK are out of the picture. In my view, one reason for Akbar keeping MA close is that she could have created rebellion against him using the religion card since she was a kattar unlike the liberal Akbar. Hence I do believe it is possible that the year recorded as 1562 in Akbarnama may be off by 1 year and it may be 1563. Also Abul Fazl joined Abkar's court after 1566-67. So his dates for events before may be slightly off.
