Chapter 3 - Sawal, sawal aur sawal

Jalal is walking in his bageecha. His mind filled with lot of unanswered questions, unknown feelings. From the day he laid his eyes on Jodha, his life has totally changed. None of my begums ever dared to face me before the wedding but this Jodha darely stood before me and made two requests. Every woman I met was willingly surrendering to me, but Jodha never let me touch her. She says she does not love me. What is this love? How does it feel? Why is she so brave? From where does she get such courage to stand in front of me without any fear in her eyes? And now what, why she is so restless about my life? Why do her eyes show that she cares about me? Why should she sacrifice her life for me? What if there was no medicine for that poison? Did she think that before drinking it? Is she the same woman who pushed me when I went to her? Why did I feel a huge pain in me when I saw her brave eyes closing?

Jodha was still lying unconscious. Hameeda, Salima begum, Ruqqaiya begum and moti are anxiously waiting for her to open her eyes. Jodha is slowly regaining her consciousness. She could feel that she is flying and somebody is holding her. Who is that somebody? She could not see the face properly. She is trying to focus ; it looks like Shehenshah her Shehenshah. Thank God he is safe. She just wants to lift her hand and touch that face once, but her hand is unable to move.

Suddenly she could not see anything, everything is dark. Where is Shehenshah? Where is he? Is he with Benazir? Oh that Vishkanya, what did she do to Shehenshah? Jodha's mind is running, she wants to find Benazir and Shehenshah. She wants to find them, but everything is dark. Suddenly she sees someone coming towards her. She can hear some loud noise. She is checking who is it..its none other than Benazir. Mubarak ho Jodha, humne Jalal ko katam kar diya. Ab hum jeetgaye aur tum haar gayi. Ab Jalal ko koyi nahi bacha saktha tumhara Kanha bhi nahin.

Jodha shouts nahiii, tum mere Shehenshah ko kuch nahi kar sakthi ho. She keeps blabbering in her sleep. Shehenshah hum aapko bacha lenge, aapko kuch nahi hone denge. Hum hein aapke liye sirf aapke liye.

Hameeda and all others are worried seeing Jodha's state. They call for hakim. Hameeda holding Jodha's hand, Jodha beta Jalal ko kuch nahi hua, woh teek hein. Aapne Jalal ko bacha liye. Who bilkul teek hein. Jodha beta vutiye.

Chapter 4: Jodha regains concious

Jodha slows opens her eyes and looks around. She can see blurred faces and can hear familiar voice praying "yah allah tera lakh lakh shukr hein". She turns towards that voice, the face is blurred and she can hear her name Jodha beta aap teekh hein? Kaisa lag raha hein abhi? Jodha tries to move, but somebody stops her from doing so. Jodha begum abhi mat vutiye, abhi vutenge tho sir chakra jayega. Aapne poora din kuch bhi nahi kiya aur voopar se aapne jeher peeya haa. Thodi der aur aaram kijiye aapke liye kuch halka khana leke ayenge.

Jodha can slowly make out the faces. She can see ammijan, hakim sahiba, saleema begum, moti, ruqqaiya begum and other ladies. Her eyes were searching for Shehenshah, but couldn't find him. She gets tensed, what happened to Shehenshah why he is not here. Jodha turns to Hameeda begum and asks ammijaan..Shehenshah?

Jodha beta Jalal bilkul teek hein aur Benajir ko bhi pakad liya hein. Bas aap aaram kijiye, sab kuch saaf saaf hum baad mein batayenge. Jodha thanks Kanha for keeping Jalal safe. Her heart is aching to see him once. Hameeda banu asks everyone to leave so that Jodha begum can take some more rest. Everybody leaves and Moti brings something to eat.

Jodha: Moti hume kuch bhi khaane ke mann nahi kar raha hein, bus ek baar...

Moti: Kya ek baar Jodha? Kya karni hein aapko ek baar? Aapne tho itna bada sankat apna sar pe liye. Aapko bejan aisa pada hua dekh kar humara tho jaan nikal gayi thi. Shehenshah tho aapko dekh bhi nahi paaye tho. Bus aapko is kamre mein rakh kar chale gaye.

Jodha was looking around. It looks different, this is not her hojra. It is Jalal's. Where is he?

Jalal was with Adga saab and discussing about the war. Adga saab was explaining how Hakim Mirza and Maan Singh were at the war but Jalal was only thinking about Jodha. Kya vusko hosh aayaki nahin?

Suddenly a baandi comes and says, Shehenshah Jodha begum ko hosh aagaya hein.

Adga saab: Shehenshah aap jaake begum sahiba ko dekar aayiye hum baad mein baat kar sakthe hein.

Jalal: Nahin Adga saab vuski jaroorat nahi hein. Aap boliye.

Adga Saab: Ye jung humne jo socha vusse muskil lag raha hein Shehenshah. Hume patha nahi Hakim Mirza aur Maan Singh isko sambhal paayenge.

Jalal: Teek hein kal hi hum khud ravana honge.

Jodha eats something and regains little energy. She wants to meet Shehenshah but he is nowhere to be seen. After few hours of rest, Jodha moves back to her room.
