Fan war threads... full of battles more serious than the one going on in the show...maybe they should be together in a sticky thread so I don't open them by mistake... I badly miss reading the calm, civil and intelligent history discussion threads.

me too...

very intresting info thanks for sharing so bharmal is not the first one the political marrige alliances is started long way back by hidustani rajas
poor girls they've no choice i read the mansabdari system is orignaly introduced by sher shah suri & later adopted ,modified by shehansha akbar but shensha akbar is getting all the credit alone whether political marrige alliances or masabdari

Thanks for sharing. That's quite interesting.
I always wonder if pratap n akbar would have been friends, they would have created a new history all together. Both were so strong

like how jalal pampered too much jodha

is true that not even akbar or any other king in history pampered only his one wife among too many

I read in many articles that indian king taken woman for granted likefor satisfaction even when a girl child take birth she was not pampered is it true
plz justify

Real Akbar was not a lover boy or one men women as they are showing in the serial jodha akbar
abul fazl akbar court historian said akbar was kind with his harem.shensha akbar have 300 wives including 35 of them are officialy recorded but he has 3 cheif wives only they were
rukkaiya sultan, saleema sultan, harkabai. i read shensha akbar bought many jagirs for
rukkaiya sultan, sends gifts to jodha when she given birth to saleem, arranged the journey when saleema sultan decided to go for Haj. shensha akbar taken one of his court noble Abul Wasi wife Daulat shad begum into his harem for diplomatical reasons, later fallen for her beauty & forced his husband to divorce his wife.shensha akbar married daulat shad begum she bore two daughters to akbar.

in mughal history so far i read there are only two emperors who were head over heels fallen for only one particular wife & bestowed there love & authorities to them

emperor shahjahan & mumtaz mahal he was truly deeply in love with his 3rd wife mumtaz.shahjahan court historian said after marrying mumtaz mahal the emperor forgot his previous two wives they were wives only for name shahjahan love & care was totaly devoted to mumtaz mahal.
mumtaz mahal bore 14 childrens to shahjahan only five childrens survived.in court prossedings mumtaz mahal sit behind her husband shahjahan when he passed judgements and if she disagreed she would hold his shoulder in her hand and whisper her opinion. on the death of mumtaz mahal shahjahan was paralysed by grief & weeping fits.Shah Jahan went into secluded mourning for a year. When he appeared again, his hair had turned white, his back was bent, and his face worn. shahjahan built tajmahal in the memory of his beloved wife mumtaz mahal.in the last painful years of shahjahan exile he use to sit in window & watch tajmahal for many hours.he visited her beloved wife grave every month on boat.shahjahan never married any other women when mumtaz mahal was alive.the court historians of shahjahan foundy speak about mumtaz & shahjahan lovestory.

emperor jahangir & nurjahan some of the historian claim they were in love from there teenage but akbar forced nurjahan father to married her with another men name sher afghan.
after the death of sherafghan nurjahan was bought to agra. nurjahan had a daughter named laadli begum.in noroz festival emperor jahangir saw her & with in two months both married. emperor jahangir was 42yrs & nurjahan was 34yrs when they got married.nurjahan was the last wife of jahangir he never married after nurjahan.later emperor jahangir bestowed his whole empire to nurjahan.
nurjahan was the real power behind jahangir throne.the court poets & historians of jahangir era foundly speak about jahangir & nurjahan lovestory.european historian said both jahangir nurjahan shared a very intimate relationship & were good companions.
sir thomas roe a english historian said once he was waiting for the king jahangir a news came turn on the lights the emperor is coming & the historian said he saw Jahangir and Nur Jahan returning to the camp one night from a romantic bullock-cart ride all by themselves ...
jahangir himself in his memories praised nurjahan & said '' no one is more founder of him then nurjahan'' jahangir also said he not shared his secrets with anyone but only nurjahan.
nurjahan made a perfume for his husband named the oil itr-i-Jahangiri.
nurjahan use to sit with her husband or in jaroka during court proceedings.
nurjahan once commanded a army & rescued her husband jahangir from mahabat khan.
nurjahan was the first & only mughal queen her name is written on the mughal coins along with her husband name.actually her real name was mehrun nisa & nurjahan is title given by emperor jahangir.
nurjahan title is derived from emperor jahangir own name.
full name is Nur-uddin Muhammdad Jahangir ... Nur from Nur-uddin & Jahan from Jahangir
here is a image of Nurjahan & Jahangir 1615.
it shows there love & closeness.

Akbar was not a lover boy like jehangir or shahjahan nor he is under the influence of any of his wife akbar loved his kingdom the most. Even his marriages with the Hindu Ladies was a part of his conciliation and consolidation policy thats why Akbar is considered as the great Mughal Emperor.

Hely, yes, please do go through history geek's posts to clarify ur doubt :)

And guys its okay, everyone is free to ask their doubts. As far as the shows staying true to history, none of the shows are doing justice in showcasing the greatness of either of the kings.

Akbar is being be shown in the worst possible light in both shows for that matter. A love sick puppy in one and an obsessed(almost psychotic) lover in the other.

In JA,the focus should have been on his achievements alongside his love story with Jodha.

P.S : Saw the new promo with Jodha doing yudh ka yalgaar with mirchi powder and stuff.

My question:Where is Akbar?

for your bold part question cvs butchered shensha Akbar character 🤢 they started the JA story with akbar but now they are showing Jahangir & Nurjahan story in the name of Jodha Akbar
It was Jahangir who was madly in love with NurJahan he was completly under influence of NurJahan court matters or harem matters.
It was NurJahan who issued coins having her name with her husband name.
It was NurJahan who rescued her husband from Mahabat Khan & commanded a army.
It was NurJahan who use to sit in Jaroka & voice her opinion during court proccedings & Jahangir appriciated them & followed them.

the only thing is left they are not showing Akbar as alcohol addicted as Jahangir 😆

But what they made him 😭 🥺 🤢

Did Salima really give birth to a daughter Khannum...because as per my knowledge Salima had no kids😕😃... Khannum was MUZ's daughter...In fact I heard (from online sources that) Salima gave birth to Murad but thankfully Abhay cleared this misconception and I now know that MURAD is Akbar-Jodha's son😳...Thanks for the vital real information Abhay...Your threads are being missed a lot...I want to ask a lot of questions regarding the current track but you have not been posting of late😕...Now watching the serial with a lot of questions in my head😕...If possible make a new historical thread...I want to know if harem ever participated in a war or was Akbar ever captured...So many more questions to ask🥱...

Hi Everyone,
Sorry, joining the discussion late. 😕

It's really sad that the "new forum etiquette" is keeping wonderful researchers and writers away, whereas we have to perforce read FFs, bashing posts (Tabassum, if you read this, please, you can't deny there are such posts on the forum in a considerable number 😉 ), off screen photos, fan wars, and what have you. Where are the really good, thought-provoking, informative history discussions? Earlier, they livened up even the otherwise prosaic daily threads with their correlations between the current tracks and real events.

Now that there is no scope for discussing the historical veracity of any current track, say whether Jalal ever needed to be saved by Jodha from an enemy camp, or even a genuine doubt, such as the topic of this thread, it's a free-for-all on all daily threads. It's basically one member's word against another's. One may support it and the other oppose. Who is to say who is right? The ones who could step in and explain the reality are being forced to stay away.

This is the ironic part. Those who are promoting their own versions of history, such as claiming that the MUZ, in spite of having been in charge of a 12000 strong cavalry, could never have led a military campaign, that she was confined to the purdah by Akbar and could not talk to any male, except her husband/father/brother/son, are being allowed to have their say. But, those who have undertaken serious research and can prove that the MUZ was at an equal footing with her husband, are being muzzled up in the name of "etiquette". 😕

Etiquette's basic premise is that everyone adheres to it. 😊

@All,
I really miss Abhay/Kamal/Lizzy threads too. Now-a-days, I don't even feel like visiting the forum, in the absence of my favorite reading material. 😭

It's heartening to see so many of you who feel the same and who have tried to talk to the mods about this. Actually, we are all going our individual way about this. We need to get together and try to think of ways in which we can revive Abhay and co.'s threads.

Like some member said, his threads may have been reported frequently till they were closed. May be some members felt threatened by his meticulous research, which disproved their armchair theories of history.

Likewise, we can also get together and explain our stand to the mods. The mods are doing a tremendous job of maintaining civility and decorum on the JA forum. If we are able to show how many of us miss these history threads and would like them to be re-opened for discussion, I'm sure they'll not disappoint us. 😊

Let's not think of any extreme steps, like leaving the forum, at the moment. Let's try to work out things here itself. JA is a great forum and we all came together here. And, by God's grace, we will stick it out together here!

That show Maharana pratap on sony cannot stand on historical ground.I had watched it initially because of my love fr history, but the serial is terribly slow. So i stopped watching. Once I saw accidently, they were showing Akbar n Meerabai track . I still wonder did akbar n meerabai ever meet?I was aghast 🤢at the portrayal of Akbar. MP n AK no doubt r great warriors. To prove a point, u shud not faulter n twist history as u like.😡Fr entertainment pupose u can hv natakiya rupantar😆 Best thing I liked in MP is the child actresses who play Ajabdeh ( Ajeeb naam ) n Phulkunwer. They r cho chweet,🤗💔 n their dialogue delivery fantastic. The sets r also better.U forget the fact in MP Akbar is stii a teenager n not married to JO yet. In our serial JO also Akbar was shown ruthless n heartless before his marraige to JO in the initial epi,his famous dialogue being hamare paas dil hi nahi😆The whole purpose of the serial is to show how this ruthless man was changed into kind hearted king by this Rajput princess😉👏
